I purchased a deal on Living Social thinking I would be able to find a local massage therapist who received good reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't even redeem the voucher because I was made to feel so uncomfortable. I had a very hard time finding the location of this business, which was my fault because I forgot the trick about walking in through the salon. I tried calling, searching, and walking into another business to try to determine the location of Healing with Intention. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment, and when I arrived, Mike began his condescending remarks right away. He was visibly angry that I had trouble finding the place and when my voucher was not pulled up immediately, he continued to make remarks that dripped in sarcasm. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in customer service ever. I actually had to leave the shop because Mike made me feel so uncomfortable. I would never ever recommend this therapist to any one. read more

Absolutely fantastic massage! My mother has been recommending Michael to me for over a year I am so very glad I finally made time in my schedule to see him. I've been seeing Michael for the past 6 months for neck/back muscle pain. I've tried many other massage specialists in the area over the past 3 years. I've found that Michael's technique offers me lots of relief. He does not simply dig into a spot nor does he lightly give you an impersonal massage that is the same for everyone. I think that Michael really listens to what you want but he also has good instincts about where to focus. Another thing I really like is his studio. It is in an incredibly quite building and I find myself able to fully relax. His rates are great and he offers a discount if you come to see him multiple times in a month. I've started seeing him once a week and it is really helping relieve a lot of muscle pain issues. All that being said, finding the right massage therapist is a very subjective thing. Different people are seeking different results. For me, Michael is a great fit and I plan to continue seeing him in the forseeable future. read more

I've never had a massage therapist decline applying more pressure at request and tell me they use intuition. His touch is very delicate and actually made me feel squeamish and uncomfortable. I found this therapist through a living social special and I am very grateful I did. Michael is also known as the "muscle whisperer" -- I think he well deserves this title. His massage is intuitive, applying just the right amount of pressure where needed. How does he know where it is needed? It's a mystery to me, but it works. BUYER BEWARE!! NO NO NO DON'T DO IT! There was a Groupon for a one-hour massage, so I bought it and attempted to schedule. I got the run-around, apparently he only books so many Groupon massages a day and told me (via email and text) that it would be 3-4 weeks before he was scheduling any new "Groupon Massages". Of course none of this was listed on the Groupon offer, and when I picked a time 6 weeks out from today, he wrote me back hours later saying "I already have Groupon Massages that day" and to choose yet another day. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If I could leave negative feedback on Groupon I would. However since it was so soon after purchase Groupon gave me a full refund, thankfully. When I told him about how disappointed I was and how this "Smelled Fishy" and that I was going to cancel the Groupon he said "Thank you". Wow, not a way to do business. His attitude was very condescending and frustrating. He had already rescheduled once, then messaged me on the way of to change the time again. The office is very hard to find, and when I tried to call, the phone reception was terrible. He texted brief directions for where his office is in the building, but it was too vague for me to find it. I was wandering around outside for quite a while, with no way to reach him by phone, and only getting one reply to all my texts. When he finally came out of the building to find me, he insisted his name is on the door, and no one else has trouble finding it. But his name is printed on a very homemade piece of paper in blue and green, pasted on the door amongst dozens of other signs, most of which were bigger and brighter. I would walk by that piece of paper a million times and think that's a free flyer for guitar lessons or something like that. I sensed a slight sassy factor in him, but I actually liked it and found him really personable and easy to talk to... like gossiping with an old friend! I did not realize just how special his massage was until a few days later. Absolutely incredible. Problem areas / knots on my back that had been there for years were dramatically alleviated. And it did not include the soreness and pain that sometimes comes from deep tissue techniques. His touch is completely intuitive and I've never had a massage like it! I've tried other masseuses in the area and no one compares. He has a phenomenal gift for deep tissue massage, and is a tremendously nice and respectful person. He gives a healing and relaxing massage rather than a pampering massage that a salon/spa might give. He has an accommodating schedule and will see clients even on Saturdays and Sundays. Over the many years that I (and many of my friends) have been receiving massages from Michael we have had absolutely first-rate experiences. He is competent, compassionate and extremely intuitive.
