So I just bought a new house and received a wonderful letter from the city stating I needed my…read moreannual backflow test done. Surprise! Stuck with old faithful Yelp and looked up backflow services. Up pops up this company. Yelp hasn't let me down yet so... yeah.. let's try it out. I called and left a message. About a day later I received a call back and it was this company. He was able to schedule an appointment in 2 days at a very reasonable price. What's great about his service is that it's fully turn-key. I handed him the letter from Chesapeake and from there he does everything. He fills it out, submits it to the city and I'm all good to go. After it was all done, he sent me a scan of what he filled out for my records. Technically, I didn't have to even be home for the whole thing. Bravo Beasley! Now that's what I call service!! Beginning with our first interaction, He has been polite, and timely...he shows up when he says he will and his rates are competitive and reasonable compared to many other quotes I've been given. Clear communication and customer service are very important to me when working with another company and the fact that I can call and talk directly with a person is a plus. He is able to answer any questions I have had as well.

Atomic Plumbing & Drain Cleaning

Thankfully, Atomic Plumbing & Drain Cleaning came through for us! Huge kudos to Jim and Will for being so professional, polite, and persistent. They quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to get everything fixed. We're so thankful to have water running properly again. Excellent service from start to finish -- highly recommend Atomic Plumbing!

I wanted to share my experience with Atomic Plumbing, hoping it might help others avoid similar…read moresituations when choosing a service provider. I called Atomic Plumbing last month to quote a repair for a leaking corroded drain pipe in my crawlspace that caused a strong odor in my home. I clearly communicated the crawlspace's tight space when setting my appointment, and they agreed to send someone suitable for a $95 diagnostic fee. However, the fee for the quote unexpectedly increased to $275 for a relatively brief visit. Security cameras show the technician spent less than 10 minutes in the crawlspace. To make matters even more concerning, the technician claimed there was also a leak in the wall that would be requiring major kitchen repair and gave us a referral card to their preferred restoration company. The technician from Atomic claimed that this was a huge insurance claim and that we would be getting a whole new kitchen out of the ordeal. Three other professionals (from both a plumbing and a water damage restoration company) later confirmed there was no leak in the wall at all. We opted for a pipe swap from galvanized to pvc by removing some drywall under the kitchen cabinets, no cabinet removal or wall restoration was necessary unlike what the technician from Atomic Plumbing told us. I also found it odd that the technician described the damage as extensive but didn't take any photos to show us, unlike the other contractors who documented everything and deemed the issue manageable. I was leaning towards going with Atomic Plumbing initially. They had good availability and could've gotten the done the job sooner than the other company that I received a quote from. They did have a very quick response time, as they were at my house within an hour and a half of calling them Unfortunately the cost for just a quote jumping from $95 to $275 without any warning felt like a bait and switch, and is what ultimately made me decide to call another company for second opinions and repairs. I'm very thankful I trusted my gut and didn't go with Atomic and have my kitchen ripped apart for no reason.

If you are looking for new lighting or lamp repair, I highly recommend Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop. The store is beautiful and the employees are very nice and helpful.

I've had the two lamps, end tables & a coffee table since I graduated from college & moved to Atlanta in '71. Now defunct Rich's Department Stores in Atlanta sold quality furniture. My purchases from them have made it through my young single life in Atlanta, 2 husbands, a child, our move to Coastal Virginia, widowhood & a grandson. I was devastated the lamp had been damaged. The good news was that my electrician was coming the next day & I was sure he could repair it. It turned out to not be the case. He did tell me there were places that performed repairs like my lamp needed on older products. How could he call my precious lamp old? (: The search immediately began. Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop appeared to be the best option. I called & the pleasant person who answered confirmed that they could do the repair. The store closed at 5:30. So I jumped in the car (figuratively) & headed to the store. The location is in a standalone building shared with another store. The site is on the north side of Laskin Road, west of the First Colonial intersection & adjacent to La Promenade shopping center. The store is inviting with window displays that beckon one to enter. Parking is ample & the area is clean and well lit. The counter person remembered me from my frantic call for help. The repair would only require a new socket. She indicated that there was a lamp repairman working as we spoke. So it was possible I could have the lamp back by the next day. I kissed my lamp "goodbye for the moment" and started to peruse the offerings in the store, which were beautiful. An entire section of boxed lighting was on sale due to overstock. Beautiful overhead fans & lamps were available at good prices. Plus.....the lamp shade section was filled with different sizes. I knew I had to return when I had more time. Dusk had settled in & I don't see well to drive at night. True to their word, I received a VM the next day while in a doctor's office in Norfolk. There was not time to return before closing. Sigh.... Today I couldn't wait to retrieve my lamp. When I arrived at the store I was delighted with the repair. The lamp now looks terrific & has a socket that's UL approved. But the big surprise was the bill. They only charged $25. The gentleman who waited on me even carried the lamp to my car because he said it was heavy. I can't wait to return and shop the large selection of lighting products. My plan is to also bring an inherited lamp that I would like repaired. Greenbrier Lighting at Hilltop is a fabulous place, not just repairs but also lighting fixtures, lamps & shades. I highly recommend.
