Our work group did a team building event at Activate. We had a ball!…read more This venue is located in Park South Plaza on Highway 31 in Vestavia Hills, next to Taziki's. Our manager paid for us to play 60 minutes. Before we went, we had to complete a waiver online and choose our game name. There were restrooms inside where you could change clothes (cause I heard if you are competitive, you would sweat a lot). They also have lockers - activated by a wrist key fob - so you could put your purse and keys somewhere safe. It's a dark area full of arcade rooms (maybe about 10 or 12 rooms in total). Each room has several games from which you can choose to play. Our group of 12 people were split into 3 teams of 4. The front desk attendant gave us all a wrist fob that we had to activate with our game account. The attendant explained how to play. Choose the game, all players scan their fob, then wait until the current team playing in the room exits before you go in. Scores are based on how well you do. If there is no one waiting outside the room after the game completes, you can move to the next level and continue playing. My team's first couple of games went so wrong and we questioned ourselves and our lives many times while playing. However, we got the hang of it and enjoyed ourselves so much! My favorite game was in the "Grid" room, where they called a color and the team had 5 seconds to get to a space with that color. So fun! If you are looking for a fun place to "be a kid again", this is the place to go!

So much fun for everyone! Every game I played was great! There are so many rooms so if one is busy…read morethere was always something else open. The time flew by!

They say to arrive 15 before the party and we did but they weren't quite ready for us. But she greeted us and got things together quickly. We ordered salads from the salad bar which was fully stocked with fresh fruits and veggies. The pizza was decent and they unfortunately had Pepsi products. The game floor seemed clean and all the games seem to be in working order. I would say they need just a couple more rides for really young kids (ages 2-5). But the birthday boy enjoyed that mini carousel. Masks are only encouraged so lots of people were unmasked and I can't say that I saw much sanitizing going on on the game floor. The restrooms weren't disgusting but could stand for a bit more attention throughout the day. But all in all, the experience was pleasant and the little ones had a blast!

We took our son and two nephews around 5pm on Saturday. I knew it would be busy which was fine. The…read morestaff that was around were good but there was two workers in the front trying to get people in the door on top of trying to ring customer up. There were two workers in the play area checking for socks and wristbands and stayed on their phones the entire time. Parents would come up saying they were about to leave and the kid wanted to slide one time and they would let them on. I understand but also I paid to allow my kid to play so that was annoying. The pizza was great and the salad bar was stocked. There was no ice, when I asked a worker for ice, he said he would be right back and never came back. Turns out the entire building was out of ice. Then there was cake, food, and cups ALL over the play floor which we had to jump over and some of it I just threw away. There were many games that weren't working or only has 2/3 balls for the kids to play with when there were supposed to be a lot more. Overall the kids enjoyed it which was great but I do feel like it was super overpriced for all the issues there were.

Since it was a Saturday afternoon, it was crowded, obviously. The parking lot is weird but didn't have an issue parking. Upon entering, I never really was assisted ... just standing there looking dumb. I had to tell them I was here for a bday party. Would have been nice to be acknowledged.... It is very bright inside. The party area is a little on the tight side. During the entire time of the party , I felt like I was always in the way. Lol. I wasn't the only one who felt this way. The staff is young. They did okay but definitely room for improvement. Most were lazy in their demeanor. Pizza wasn't the best but the kids enjoyed it. That's all that matters. Chuck E Cheese will come out and sing happy birthday and do some dances . It's definitely a highlight for the kids. Three stars is far. Bring back the clunky figures on stage that traumatized us all as kids! Lol

Unfortunately the employees here seem like they hate working here. Not sure if it's management or…read moremaybe they don't have a good hiring standard protocol Also Chuck E. Cheese's are basically casinos for little kids. The kids I brought ran through their points in 20 minutes. Never again am I coming here. For 3 hours, 4 kids and some mediocre pizza, I spent close to $200 for a chaotic time. From the start no one monitored me coming in. This happens to me in the schools I work at sometimes. Just because I'm a woman without any threatening physical attributes, shouldn't mean I should be able to waltz in any where unchecked. I like the privilege but everyone needs to be checked including me. I didn't even have any kids with me when I walked past the check point. Their parents dropped them off with me. So I asked what the best value was and the lady looked annoyed by question. Not everyone frequents these little trap houses for kids. Please be prepared to answer questions and offer advice. I was told to pay $60 for the most amount of points and have that divided by 4 instead of paying by the minutes. I thought surely this will allow the kids to play for at least 2 hours. Nope. Had to charge the cards multiple times. I put in my pizza order. It took forever to come out. Giant cookie was amazing. Fries were not good, they were unseasoned air fried frozen ones and not worth the money. The mouse came out twice and the kids asked if he was okay. I said probably not. He would just do an unenthusiastic dance and then leave to the restroom area after 5 mins. I get it. I would never want to be that mouse. Some kid or maybe an adult stole my 4 year old nephew's play pass. Goodness what in the Birmingham Alabama was that?! lol. Luckily I was ready to take them home by that point. In all they had fun, but me never again. I will take them to 5 below they can fill up a basket and I will make them play out on the deck and save money!
