Went here while on a biz trip and not able to get to my own barber in my hometown. Yelp reviews were solid as was my haircut. Enjoyed my conversation with the barber too. Good laughs.

Haircut by trey.

Look at this cut and decide if you wanna go here. (Trey was the barber) used to be my go-to spot.

Before and After I have gotten compliments on new hair

My barber was Chris and my experience was great There weren't reviews of Chris in yelp when I first went but someone had recommended him for me and he was spot on. All of the barbers are professional but chill. I definitely underestimated a good barber haircut, no more sport clips or great clips this is the place to go. Walk ins are harder to pull off so make an appointment online. This place is all about atmosphere, If you have time get there a little early, get a beer, listen to music and shoot the sh!t. It is a hangout type of place. If I was getting married or having special event I would totally rent this place to get all grooms men ready. Maybe some other special event. Oh yeah the beer is cold and smooth. Also they do have a lot of product and decent prices. I picked up some beard conditioner, good stuff! You will get a good haircut. Good job guys!

Does this backside of my hair look like the picture?

I've been here before with better results than today. I understand everyone is trying to get back on their feet due to the covid19 pandemic but the treatment I got today from I'm guessing the manager was unacceptable. Let's start with the hair cut. I showed two pictures of how I wanted my hair faded. The barber said okay and went to work. Mind you, we've been in quarantine so my hair was full. I get up after and look at the cut. It's cut way too short and In. Nothing like the pictures in reference to. I paid and went out to my car and decided this is unsatisfactory. The more I look at the back of my hair. The more I was upset with the hair cut. I then went back in and asked what could be done. Heavier set white Caucasian man as I wasn't able to get his name said what I can he do for me? I told him the hair cut was not what I asked for and what can he do. He looked at the pictures and said they are the same. In what universe is what your barber did and these pictures the same. He proceeded to act like tough it's my own fault. I asked some of the barbers there and they don't want to speak out against the cut because of likely friction with a co-worker or management. He finally says I can't put hair back on your head so what do you want. This infuriated me as the least he could have done was refund me my money. He goes to refund me and tells me don't come back. With that type of service and mediocre barber work. Trust me, you won't get a cent out of me. Also, the entire staff seems to have turned as all the old barbers are gone. I'm not saying everyone there is a terrible barber but this was my experience. You'll see below what I requested and what I received. Good luck and never again!!

Ask the Community - Head Honchos

I have been thinking about going here but wonder who is the best one to ask for to get beard trim/edgeup and haircut?

Chico, Mike Fresh, or Jon I'm that order. But depends on what type of cut you're looking for.

Review Highlights - Head Honchos

Prices are good (less than the salon!) and more importantly: the cuts have always been excellent (thank you, Mike "Fresh"!).

From the moment you walk in, you just know you're in a good barber's hands--and that you're going to walk out looking sharp. I've been seeing Danny for a while now, and what I appreciate most is the trust I've built with him. I'm not just coming in for the same old cut every time--I feel comfortable enough to let him do whatever he thinks will work best, whether it's a seasonal update or just something new. He's got a great eye, and I always leave looking clean and confident. The shop itself is in a super convenient location right off Washington Ave, with a solid-sized parking lot (rare in this area!). It's also right next to Catalina Coffee and Dark Horse Tavern, so whether you need a quick pick-me-up or a drink before or after your cut, it's all right there. Cutthroat even offers a complimentary drink before your service, which is a nice touch--even though I'm usually rolling in last-minute and don't take full advantage. All in all, it's a laid-back but professional spot with real barbers who know what they're doing. Highly recommend.

As others have mentioned, they are pretty rigid when it comes to tardiness so....don't be late. Just as an adult and as a general rule, don't be late. Leave early and allow for unexpected delays to arise, this is Houston after all. If you're 15 minutes early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. They offer free beverages to enjoy while you wait for your appointment to begin, these vary from local beer to whiskey. If you're interested, you may need to request it, not all of the receptionists proactively offer but it is included. Not a bad offering and is appreciated as these aren't the cheapest services you'll find, but they're in-line with other moderately upscale men's barbershops ($40 beard trim etc) and my experiences have always proven worth it.

They sculpt destiny. Every snip of the scissors is a conversation between artist and canvas. I'm pretty sure I heard angels harmonizing the first time I got hit with a fade here. My wife looked at me when I got home and said "who are you?" Not because I looked different. Because I looked like the man she always hoped I'd become. Carlos built this place, and whatever dark sorcery he's teaching back there, it's working. This man has assembled an entire roster of assassins. I've sat in multiple chairs at this shop over the years, and every single one of these barbers is cut from the same legendary cloth. You could walk in blindfolded, sit in any chair, and walk out looking like you were put on this earth to be photographed. I made the catastrophic error of going somewhere else last month due to a scheduling conflict. I have never known such betrayal -- and I did it to myself. That barber cut my hair like he was mad at me. Like my head had personally wronged his family. I spent three weeks looking like a wish.com version of myself. Never again. I would drive through a hurricane to walk into this shop. I would wade through floodwaters. I would cancel a meeting with the Pope. If they relocated to the middle of the Sahara Desert, I would simply begin walking. If you are reading this and you are not already in one of their chairs, you are wasting your life. Five stars. Would give six but Yelp is a coward.

Fantastic vibe and service!…read more I've been considering a new barber for a few weeks. I read all the great reviews as well as the not-so-great ones, and I am always impressed with leaders who take accountability for the customer experience. Ryan's comments made me feel secure in trying out the shop. Making the appointment was seamless. They use a common scheduling app called SQUIRE, and I was able to get an appointment with Ryan. The shop is aesthetically fantastic. Very old-school in design and decor, which I like. It fits perfectly in the neighborhood, which adds to the charm. The energy in the room, however, is something that I rarely see. The team and the customers are on an entirely different level of coolness than I'm used to, and the experience was terrific. Ryan and I hit it off right away in terms of him understanding what I was looking for, and he exceeded my expectations. He listens well and asks strategically good questions. The service was timely and a good value for the price paid. I was watching one of the other barbers do a masterful job on another customer, and I feel confident that whoever I see in there will make me look (reasonably) impressive!
