Update: my recent experience with another barber named Flaco was not satisfactory and far away from what I experienced with Jason. I'm expecting the management here doesn't let anyone to cut hair here but unfortunately I trust them too much. I booked an appointment for my way son's haircut for his first day of school. I got a text 7am stating what's in the text attached. I was too busy to respond. He wanted me to move my appointment 2 hours with an other barber at the 11th hour. But despite my lack of response, two hours later they updated the appointment (see attached text) without my consent. I told him this was unprofessional, and it is. He calls me to tell me the story after I texted him, and I responded with "Now what?" he immediately became defensive, after we exchanged some words because of my frustrated tone. And stated he doesn't feel safe cutting my sons hair. I have three kids, outside obligation and errands. A professional honors their commitment, and if there's conflicts or issues (app glitch ) that doesn't involves the customer he or she handles it with the owner. He claimed it was a place holder and expected me to understand that base on what the text stated. This is an industry where last minute cancellations and no-shows are subject to fines to the customers, yet at this barbershop they are willingly to do this to their customers. You can't do unprofessional things and expect people to not feel anything either. read more

So this is an update of the review I posted a couple of months ago when Ortahaus had just opened their doors and I'm happy to announce that they've only gotten better since then. I've had the opportunity to visit this establishment a few times since my initial review and I can definitely say that the service keeps getting better and better. They still have the curated playlists and the unique decor but now they've added a section with books that you can read while waiting. They also added a large screen tv so that you can keep up with the news, sports, etc. while being pampered. In addition to this, they've expanded their line of complimentary drinks and spirits. All these extra perks complement the already great experience that I described in my initial review. I could go on and on about my experience but if you're reading this I strongly suggest you go and experience it for yourself. Today I was in desperate need of a cut and by chance stumbled upon this amazing new shop. From the front desk all the way to the barber, this place blew my expectations out of the water. They have only been open for a very short time, but I can imagine as soon as the word gets out this place will be just as busy as all the other barbers.
