Quick: first come, first serve, quick enough to be done on a lunch break, not too quick as to feel he's rushing. Affordable: I don't know about you, but I am sick of massive charges for basic haircuts. Noe has found a dedicated customer who appreciates his skill, and is happy to pay what he asks, even as the cheapo I am. Social vibe: Noe is a stunning personality. He matches personality very well, and is a the exact kind of comfortable presence you want from a barber. Super cool barber, old school traditional feel, in a small cottage building that is hidden a few blocks away from Karbach brewery- off 290 freeway. My boyfriend went in unannounced looking for a quick haircut-whilst wearing a hat which is apparently taboo- and Noe was still very accommodating. He cut My boyfriend's hair quick-within 5 minutes; yet highly exact. It was a close cut, very clean and he looked super cute. Affordable. Noe also trimmed my side shave and didn't charge me. Tip: Only accepts cash or check, so be sure to bring those. No-e was awesome. He has a very relaxing presence and made me feel very confident he knew what he was doing. I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and he said "Oh yeah. No problem. This will be fun!" He even gave me an idea of how many times I'll need to come in for my hair to grow out to the length in the photo. The cut was fast, he even gave me a shave. Writing on behalf of my SO - we decided to stop in on a Saturday around noon because of all the great reviews. Previously my SO refused to go to an actual modern barber or salon (usually because of price) so he would go to very cheap chain places each time getting his hair butchered and vowing never to return. Watching Noe work is pretty impressive, we had 3 people in front of us when we arrived and he got through them in maybe 20 minutes. He is quick yet precise. My SO does a pretty basic military-style haircut but the people in front of us had a range of styles. My SO's haircut was nicely faded and Noe even shaved his neck a bit during the final clean up. Bottom line: If you want an affordable, non-pretentious, GOOD haircut from a friendly guy who knows what he's doing, go see Noe. We will be back! "Know before you go" Parking can be an issue - there is a business in the back of the building and if they are there that day the tiny parking lot will probably be full so you'll have to park on the street. The place is CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Lastly, the lowest on the list, is that the place is pretty cluttered and dusty. It's cute because most of it is family pictures and memorabilia, but all that stuff is a huge magnet for dust. Not a big deal, just an observation from a weirdo with OCD wanting to potentially prep other weirdos. This is not a reflection on his services however - his equipment looks to be properly sanitized and I did see him clean the clippers after each use so no worries there. I have been coming to Noe for many many years. He is such a skilled barber. Any hairstyle I want to get he does it perfectly and quickly. I can show up with a picture of Elvis and he gets it done in 15 minutes exactly like the photo. Even after my move to Austin I found myself driving back here for a haircut. For the same haircut in Austin I would get an "it's too complicated" remark and would take them an hour with a price tag of 30 to 50 dollars. What a hidden gem! An awesome, old-timey barbershop with a Mexican twist. Noe is "the Dude." He demands respect with his sick flow and runs the place as the only barber. A former salon barber, following in his father's footsteps, know is a master. One of the quickest haircuts I've ever had yet one of the best. On top of that, he's the nicest guy. When I told him I wanted it cut an inch shorter, he said no problem. Not only are the haircuts awesome, but the vibe is great. Plus the haircut was only $10 for us college students.
