However I felt uncomfortable in the shop despite its homey decor, music, and waiting area. I didn't come with pictures and gave the barber full reign. At the end I had an uneven haircut that didn't go with the flow of the part in my hair. When asked if I liked it I responded with "not really but hair grows back it's okay." I've been coming to Tradesman Barber since it's opened. My barber Aaron does an amazing job! The shop is located in the heart of the artsy Montrose district. The shop itself has a vintage vibe and always has great music playing. I've had my hair cut by several of the barber, all of which are very talented! If you're looking for a very clean haircut that is budget friendly, this is the place to go. Not only is the quality of haircuts great, but the shop owner often participates in community events centered around promoting the arts for up-and-coming artists of all sorts. What a fantastic experience from start to finish. It was my first time at this establishment. My barber, John, was warm and personable. He asked me thoughtful questions about my hair and together we came up with a plan, which he executed beautifully. I enjoyed a neat whiskey while John, a true artist, worked on my hair. I had a nice relaxing wash and style after. A straight razor for my neck with hot lather was a nice touch. Met Julio at The Argyle League Barbershop on W. Alabama in Montrose. Nice big friendly space, lots of barbers, real good atmosphere, expensive haircuts $45, Cool barbershop, cool experience, worth the money.   Followed Julio over to the Tradesman on Montrose Blvd. Small place, crowded, $40 haircuts, expensive for a basic barbershop. Julio got Covid, couldn't go back for a while. When I went back price went up to $45. The Tradesman is ok for what it is, but for $45 The Argyle is a better value and better overall experience, in my opinion. read more

If you're looking for one of the most consistent and professionally chill, ambivalent staff, with local art and decor throughout their space, while most importantly tending to all of your barber needs, this is it. The entire team here is great, the "short coming" of this spot is the driveway, but nothing related to the business itself. Once construction adjacent to them wraps up it will be great. So, I've been searching for a reliable barber who can show off his skill and do wonders with hair. I found it. This place is spectacular from the wall decor to their chill vibes. The barbers were all good company and the owner was present and seemed just as chill. I was a walk in and at the time they were doing a discount, so I was able to receive it towards my cut and trim which I couldn't pass up! As soon as I walked in I was greeted quickly by Daniel one of the barbers and soon to be the barber I go to from now on. They also offer drinks to their customers, so if you're in the mood for a shot of whiskey or a cold brew, they have you covered. So the whole process took a nice amount of time which was okay because I wasn't in a rush and I prefer my barber to do their best always. Now If you have a timeframe, making an appointment would be a much better option for you which you can do by phone or online. So, I got a haircut and a beard trim, Daniel took his time to make the cut a great one, with the beard trim he was spot on with the shape and you also get a hair wash and shaving cream edge up! I enjoyed that alot! I was just happy the end result was what I wanted. So, the whole total was around forty, but with a tip I was sitting at around fifty dollars. Not too bad! I mean if you want a gentleman's cut and beard trim by professionals it will cost you. So make sure you're okay with spending that amount on a cut, also you can call or check the prices online if you'd like to compare with other. I personally think this place is price well for their services. My overall experience was great and I left happy and now found a new barbershop to go to! Great staff, great service, and great times! Immediately when you walk into the shop, you can feel that they've put a lot of thought and work to create a certain aesthetic and vibe. You are always greeted kindly and offered whiskey, beer, or water, which is a great touch to help take the edge off as getting a haircut from somebody for the first time can be a bit nerve wrecking. I have been getting my haircut from Julio for quite some time now, and trust him more than anybody I've ever gotten a haircut from. However, since Julio is generally booked pretty far in advance, I have been getting cuts from the other barbers there, lastly from Linzy. I absolutely loved my fade and have recommended her and generally anybody that works at Tradesmen to my other friends and they've had the same results and have become regulars there as well. Was looking to get my haircut while my gf was getting her nails done next door, had never been here and walked in and was immediately greeted by Daniel asked some questions and he said he could get me in, in about 45 min, and I would get a discount as a first time walk in, so I took the leap (I'm usually very picky with haircut and barber). Showed up a few min before my appointment and he was ready to start offered me beer, whiskey, or water. The cut started with a was then the actual cut, then edge up, and one final wash before a hot towel. He took his time which is always a good sign to me and talked to me a lot throughout the process and you could tell he generally liked meeting and learning about new customers. The total before tip and with discount was 32. Which in my opinion was a very fair price with everything included. He told me they do 10 touch ups which is just cleaning up the sides and edging, and I could just call to set it up if I wanted to. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely plan on going back for a touch up, as well as future haircuts. Thank you Daniel and you've earned a new client. read more
