I have, on more than one occasion, made an appointment to this place to see Chito only to have him turn up sometimes an hour late, having called him numerous times and texted him. When he showed up he didn't even bother to apologize. While he was cutting my hair on one occasion, he was using ethic slurs while minorities were sitting down waiting for their hair cut. Made an appointment with Big Trey, whom I believe is also the owner. He did a really good job. Asked for a high skin fade and he gave me my cut to my liking. I had two concerns going in. Number 1, I was in town to see the Dodgers play and had on my Dodgers gear, he talked a little crap, I did so so about the Astros, all in good fun. And my more pressing concern was that he wouldn't be any good, I come from a town that takes its barbershop culture very seriously so I'm a little persnickety when it come to my fade. As I I said, he provided my cut to my liking and was able to jokingly talk crap representing his Astros to a diehard Dodgers fan, so I definitely recommend him for his skill and welcoming personality. Really disappointed. I used to get my haircut here when it was Bayou city Barbers. I booked an appointment on Saturday the 27th of January for 9:30. I got there at 9:20, and sat till 9:50. No one opened up the business. I tried to call, it said not taking calls at this time. I emailed to ask if anyone was turning up, but no reply. Tried everything. However, I can't tell you how many times I've booked an appointment and been seated 30+ minutes after my reserved time slot. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. Worst experience ever. To the point where I was like I will pay and leave then get into an argument. Kept giving looks and was non responsive. Did not even ask whether I was happy with the haircut and just abruptly took off the sheet and was basically like "We're done.' When I spent a 15-20 seconds looking at the back of my head with the mirror he basically almost snatched the mirror from my hand. I've been coming here for a couple years and have always gotten great haircuts. However, my appointments almost always run behind schedule. I show up on time for my appointments and typically have to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. Today was especially bad: I scheduled an 11 AM appointment, then was informed at 10:52 that my appointment had been rescheduled to noon. I showed up at noon and waited a full hour to be seated. All of the barbers are professional but chill. I definitely underestimated a good barber haircut, no more sport clips or great clips this is the place to go. I've been here before with better results than today. I understand everyone is trying to get back on their feet due to the covid19 pandemic but the treatment I got today from I'm guessing the manager was unacceptable. Let's start with the hair cut. I showed two pictures of how I wanted my hair faded. The barber said okay and went to work. Mind you, we've been in quarantine so my hair was full. I get up after and look at the cut. It's cut way too short and In. Nothing like the pictures in reference to. I paid and went out to my car and decided this is unsatisfactory. The more I look at the back of my hair. The more I was upset with the hair cut. I then went back in and asked what could be done. Heavier set white Caucasian man as I wasn't able to get his name said what I can he do for me? I told him the hair cut was not what I asked for and what can he do. He looked at the pictures and said they are the same. In what universe is what your barber did and these pictures the same. He proceeded to act like tough it's my own fault. I asked some of the barbers there and they don't want to speak out against the cut because of likely friction with a co-worker or management. He finally says I can't put hair back on your head so what do you want. This infuriated me as the least he could have done was refund me my money. He goes to refund me and tells me don't come back. With that type of service and mediocre barber work. Trust me, you won't get a cent out of me. Also, the entire staff seems to have turned as all the old barbers are gone. I made an appointment online and showed up 10 minutes earlier. I was immediately greeted at the door and offered a beer while a waited. Sat in Mike's chair and then witnessed modern-day wizardry that would make Harry Potter turn in his wand. The shop is upscale but far from pretentious. After a perfect cut, I received a straight razor line up that made me feel like I'm far more important than I am. Mike took his time and didn't stop until my cut was perfect. They seemed like nice guys, and maybe they just weren't used to doing what I needed. I went in for a head shave and a beard trim. Well, the barber I had literally scalped me. In three different spots, he cut chunks out of my scalp with the razor. These weren't shaving nicks. Two days later I have big scars on my head that aren't going to heal anytime soon. I think he intentionally had me facing away from the mirror, but when I looked in the mirror, I told him it looked crazy, and that I was bleeding like crazy. He claimed I had a pimple. I didn't--what I had was a smooth scalp before I went here. On top of that, he didn't even shave all the hair on my head. When I pointed out very clear hair on my head, he claimed he didn't see it. Dude needs to check his glasses prescription. Then he rushed through the beard trim, which I had to finish myself later. What he did was sloppy and uneven. Then he had the nerve to charge me for my scalping. I should have protested, but I was more concerned with stopping the bleeding. Don't let these dudes near you with a razor! read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. My husband scheduled an appointment to get his haircut at 2 with DUSTY. After driving for about 45 MINUTES we parked right outside the barber at 1:45 and walked inside. First of all, We were not greeted. Second of all, Dusty asked if my husband had an appointment he said yeah at 2 with Dusty! However, Dusty proceeded to rudely tell my husband that has was completely booked until five!! He continued to be extremely rude and told my husband to "go run some errands in the meantime". Hmmmm...then what was the point of making an appointment? Today marks the day that I'm officially done with this place. They do great hair cuts but the constant staff turn over and the fact that they don't honor their appointments has turned me off for good. They've been consistently 15-20 min late which isn't that big of a deal however today they told me they were 30-45 min behind. The joke of this is that they texted me 30 min before that to confirm the appointment time. Why would you not call your customer who you just texted and tell them you're behind? I made a special trip over then was given the time frame and because I left town for a trip I was unable to wait or make other arraignments. In my opinion this scenario is particularly bad customer service. Now I'm leaving to be in a wedding tomorrow and have to get a hair cut in a place I don't know. I've been going to Bayou City Barbershop for about 2 years now. Yesterday I had the opportunity to try out their newest Barber named Tray. He was awesome! Not only is he great with the clippers but you should experience what he does with the shears! He does it all: fades, shaves, partitions, texturizes hair and uses the thinning shears like no other for those heavy hair volume areas. As far as the shop; it's more than you would expect. Happening part of town with people walking everywhere. Good beats inside the shop, cool beer while you wait and great conversation!
