I usually come here after work with friends and historically it's been pretty decent. I'm in healthcare and to give you perspective I get massages every week. Yesterday I had the worst reflexology appointment I have ever had. I had one person about to start. He left, didn't return and left his dirty gloves on the ottoman and several minutes later another person came. My friend had already started and I was still waiting. The pressure was weak, my massage therapist kept talking as more people filled the room and laughed when a gentleman asked for a female therapist. He didn't do the same routine on either side and followed the other massage therapist that started on my friend several minutes earlier. I received a weak massage and the time was significantly shorter than my friend who was right beside me. I don't know what happened to this place but it's not as clean or professional as it used to be. I told the front desk clerk that my massage was extremely short and she didn't say anything I still tipped him well but my friend was so angry she didn't tip her guy much in protest after the front desk person didn't acknowledge my comment. There are two other reflexology places that I frequent in Walnut Creek. I won't be back. read more

Whenever I look for places to go, I read through all the negative complaints first. Majority of the complaints were cheated on time, noisy, did not understand English. But all the positive reviews balanced it out. What did I do? Took the risk in a massage. Made an appointment over the phone, and showed up on time. Payment is due before massage, which was weird because what if I didn't like it? Anyways, led to a private room. Atmosphere was Zhen and Asian motif chic. My massage therapist walked in within 5mins and worked her magic. She worked a lot on my knots which was painful but I know I had been tense and I needed rid of them. Massage was A-OK no complaints. This place a lot like any other reflexology/massage establishment, except that youre in a room with many people. I have no problem with this - back in 2012 I remember visiting the similar ComFoot Spa in Monterey (http://www.yelp.com/biz/comfoot-spa-monterey-3?hrid=z7bsrbMfaCyPUGnpoqIJsw&page_src=shared_via_messages_or_emails) when group foot massage was a very new concept. Now you can find these discounted "massages" all over, with varying degrees of client privacy and skill levels of the person administering the treatment. A large, shared room means you might have the idiots who think they need to carry on their conversations when youre in the chair next to them relaxing. Phones should be off, mouths should be shut. Unless you book a private massage room (which they have) use your manners in the common area and save your conversations for the lobby. I had no problem saying something to two Chatty Cathys in the room, but honestly it should have be the staff putting a finger to their own lips. The 60 minute foot massage is a great deal and a wonderful way to spend $30 (+$1 extra for credit card). Treat yourself to the 40 minute foot/leg and 20 minute upper body rub down. I ended up with a guy who actually seemed more experienced in reflexology than a lot of places we've been. It's usually a lot of repetitive rubbing, sometimes with a painfully hard amount of pressure. Tonight he was repetitive but gentle, and I thoroughly enjoyed the massage. Most enjoyable was the head massage and also the buttocks. Very professional and oh-so-awesome! We had a short wait so I'd recommend making an appointment. Especially if you want to run in for their 40 minute deal ($20) on your lunch break! Doesn't that sound like a terrific way to break up the work day?! Yes, yes it does. I really don't want to post this review. After I do this Emily will be impossible to book. However, I can't help myself so here it is. Emily gave the best sports massage I've had in a long while. She really gets into the muscles without elbows because she actually knows what she is doing. I recognized her ability right away and tried to get 90 minutes instead of 60 but couldn't. The bad: the music is the same each time, as I lie there I keep on hearing the canon in D played in endless riffs and variations and it just adds to the stress. I think about the poor masseuses who have to hear the same music hour after hour each day and can only imagine it is some kind of awful torture. Please get new music! This is especially important for people who come weekly. Sometimes the thought of that repetitive music makes me stay away. They need to upgrade their chairs which are falling apart and their linens which are threadbare. This place is a great value. The special is just $38 and you get an hour of massage. It's very similar to chair massage, you stay clothed the whole time and the techniques range from palm pressure and elbow pressure to sometimes feeling like they want to dig their elbow through your body. lol. But he was receptive to my grunts when it got to be too much and he backed off. Jimmy was great. I really liked the pressure for the most part and like I said, he adjusted it as I made different noises. I got 30minutes foot, and 30minutes back and shoulders. With a 20% tip it was only like $46 for an hour. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. I'll definitely be back. If you have had those chair massages in the mall and liked them, this is just like that, but you're in a reclining chair and it's a much nicer setting, with dim lights, calming music, and more comfy chairs. I have been coming here for 6 years and have had nothing but great experiences. Since the pandemic this facility has stepped up to decrease the amount of beds and people in a room keeping people 6 feet apart. Every masseuse has their own technique and a varying touch. Make sure to communicate if you prefer a lighter or firmer touch. I have had chair side and table massages. Both have been great for me. Mostly, I prefer chair side. The staff are friendly and happy to be there. I come here as an alternative treatment for migraines instead of medication. Prices, like everywhere else, have increased because they are allowing less people in at once. read more

Me and my husband have been customers of head to toe since 2013. We usually opt for the 1 hour couples massage & we always have a great experience. But recently I noticed a difference in their service. The massage seems lacking! They start with a lot of rubbing over the blanket instead of their traditional therapeutic oil massage. The full body massage is more of a back massage, they hardly even massaged my arms nor legs and feet. I did not say anything because I was patiently waiting & anticipating that it was just their "warm up". I'm giving them five stars just for putting up with the bs I have been reading in the reviews. One girl is complaining that SJ only charges $20 for 60 minute massage with aromatherapy and WC puts up with "paying too much" and another one is complaining that an hour massage used to be $60. Do you not know where you're going for a massage??? These poor immigrants are working so hard to ease your pain and you're complaining about these low budget prices?? Really?? Talk about exploitation. So friggin embarrassing. And, by the way, Asian massages are normally painful, especially foot reflexology or deep muscle work. It's not for wimps - they're designed for results. Do you know how hard that is to apply pressure for an hour? Now add 6-8 hours. These customers are shameless. Next time go to the Four Seasons or someplace high end instead of complaining about these poor people touching your stinky feet just trying to make a living in one of the most expensive cities. I used to try to go to this place every few weeks for a 90 minute full body massage from Cindy. She is amazing at what she does, and just really skilled as a masseuse. The 90 minute full body is $72 cash price right now (it has risen a few dollars due to inflation I think). However, Cindy has been on vacation this month of January so I went with another masseuse. I don't know what her name was, but it was a fairly mediocre massage. I indicated on my form (that is filled out before you enter) that I wanted medium pressure. She gave me light pressure. When I asked for more pressure, she went extra firm. Incredibly unpleasant. The biggest problem I had with my experience this time around was how freezing cold the entire place was. It was 10:30am, and no one had turned on heating for the place. Even the receptionist was wearing a huge puffer coat. I told my masseuse that I was cold, so she turned on the heater on the massage table. This only kept the part of my body that was touching the table slightly warm, while the back part of my body was frozen the entire time. I left the massage with my hands and feet feeling like blocks of ice. I know that I get what I paid for being that this is a "cheaper" massage place, but how hard is it to turn on the heating?? It's January and Walnut Creek dips into the 40's in the evening so you definitely have to turn on the heat in a building the next day. As I was leaving, the receptionist asked how my experience was and I replied "It was really cold in there." She laughed, and then replied "Thank you for your business." Really? That's the response? If I do return for a visit, it has to be with Cindy, and most likely in a summer month when I don't have to worry about freezing my butt off during my massage. read more

I've never had a worse experience. We originally came for a 1 hour body and one hour foot. We were placed in a room next to the front desk. It was so loud. You can hear the phone ringing every few minutes and the conversation. Not the muffled words, but the actual conversation. The massage had no pressure. I asked for more pressure and nothing. They also do their foot massages with latex gloves on. There is no warning about this and my skin is completely raw since there wasn't enough lotion or oil used. We ended the massage 20 minutes early and didn't even do the body. We asked for a refund and were charged $64 dollars for the treatment. We also tipped the massage therapist and she waited there and said it was not enough. We will not be back. read more

I have been to this spa once or twice before and always had a great experience. I am currently 7 months pregnant and my back has been in so much pain. I called and was able to make an appointment today for a 1 hour full body prenatal massage and I am so so glad I did. I got a very nice lady named yoyo (not sure on spelling) but she was amazing!! Since I'm pregnant, I had to lay on my side which I thought would be uncomfortable but it was surprisingly very enjoyable. Yoyo was so attentive and used the perfect amount of pressure. My husband and I come here most of the time when we want to get a massage - love it here, it's just downtown and they always have people so you don't really have to wait. Just recently we had the worst encounter with one of the staff - gave a 12% tip in cash (so they don't get taxed) then this guy followed us to the car telling us that our tip was not enough. So I asked him how much tip do you need and he tells me $10 for 1 hour so I asked him since when did they start asking 20% for tip? Is it standardized now? Oh and he doesn't speak good english so I told him "it's ok. I'll talk to the receptionist" and he starts blocking me so my husband said "we paid and we gave tip already - all three of you. we will talk to the manager" and he started pushing my husband saying "it's ok it's ok no need. Is massage good?" My husband got pissed and told him to not push him and just went in to the car because clearly he was not letting anyone of us go back inside. So I called them to complain and this lady receptionist was very apologetic telling me that it is up to the customer to give how much they feel like giving and the manager called me, he was apologetic as well and told me that they had taken care of the problem and they had a meeting. My husband and I are grateful that they reached out to us and had not taken this situation for granted. This is a good place to get a massage tho.. i bring my daughter w me inside every time we go and they always try to accommodate us. Just stay away from the bald guy. read more

Last minute, my friend and I came here for a foot massage. Luckily they had availability for two in the evening. This place is much more expensive compared to other foot massage spots I've gone to, but it may be because it's Walnut Creek. They had a couple specials, either $30 or $35. For $30, you get 40 minutes feet + 20 minutes neck, back and shoulders. For $35, it's an even split of 30 minutes. To be honest, I didn't see the difference between my massage and my friends. I went with the $35 massage and I was done before her even though she started beforehand. The price a little steep in my opinion, but that's because I'm used to $20 for an hour at other spots. What I like about this place is it's clean and quiet. They massage therapists aren't cross talking in another language. It is more zen and spa like compared to other places I've been to. I ended up falling asleep during my Foot massage so that means I was able to get to a relaxed state. It's a good place for a quick fix, but it's not overly amazing like your traditional spa. They prefer cash, but they do accept credit card for an additional $2. If you purchase gift cards, they offer a discount. I'll definitely come back here because it's close by, convenient, clean, and relaxing for when you need that quick fix. read more

I was disappointed with my massage. I had a guy who was rushing through the massage. He didn't take his time to focus on each body part just speed though each movement. They asked me to pay before the massage which I don't like because I like to know how well the massage will be in order to know how much to tip. We have been coming here for many years, and unfortunately were treated horribly. They closed the normal massage location, and now only have massage in the reflexology location. I called and asked for a couples massage with 2 females, i kept asking her to repeat it back and she was just trying to rush me off the phone. I even said, if there is an easier time for us to come let us know. So we came 10 mins before our couples massage, only to be told they no longer have a couples room, funny no one mentioned that on the phone. Then there was not 2 females availible, which is strange since we requested that. Also they raised their prices to $64 each for an hour massage. When in need of a quick full body this is my spot very accommodating on scheduling appointments when you call we are usually able to book a same day couples massage with out a problem. Out of the 8 times I've been to head 2 toe I have never had an issue with any of my therapist and I always leave feeling relaxed. I always recommend this place to my friends that are in need of a good massage and they don't regret coming here. The price is very affordable usually $45 for an hour and a half. read more

Update review: I am so disappointed with my massage today. I expected a lot from this place because I received amazing massage last time I was here. Today I came here at 2:45 pm even made an appointment before I got here. I got the exact same message as I got last time. But I had different masseur. From the start, he looked like unhappy and didn't want to be there at all. He let me lay on the chair and started to massage my head. He only massaged my head like 15 mins.. usually, they go around your ear, neck, and shoulder briefly.. but he mainly focused on my head.. like why? I can massage my head by myself. I can reach there without any problem.. I kept it quiet and thought he will eventually move on. Then finally my foot massage started... I didn't feel anything at all. He barely rubbed my feet and didn't even go up to my calves..when we moved to back. I expected nice shoulder and neck massage but still nothing. He kept just rubbing my back with pressure.. and used his elbow few times on my spine. I was so disappointed. If I wanted lazy half way massage I would have just asked my husband to do it for me for free. The most disappointing thing was I felt like he has no knowledge of pressure points and muscles. I tipped him $7 tho. Because I feel really bad about not tipping at all. Usually, if I get a good massage I tip $20. I didn't even want to talk to that guy after my massage. If you pay with cash or debit they'll knock off a few bucks too. My friend has been raving about this spa for a while and it's a spa she frequents. After a long morning at the Sonoma Raceways we decided to get pampered. I made an appointment for 2 and was able to get us a spot in an hour. When we arrived we were asked to complete a form that inquired if we wanted a male or female masseuse, the type of massage I wanted, and to circle all the areas I want the masseuse to target. THIS IS GENIUS! I get exactly what I want by specifying it on a piece of paper upon entry. After I completed my form and paid for my service, I was led to my room with a few minutes to get ready for my much needed massage. My masseuse's name was Helen. She did a VERY THOROUGH job on my body and pin pointed all my problem areas. I can tell she spent extra time on my shoulders and back which were parts I circled on my form. I was worried that she would focus on just the parts I circled but she worked through my entire body, literally head to toe. She does both sides of your body and the bonus is the amazing butt massage. You'll see when you visit :) The head massage was awesome too! Overall, the pressure of my massage was perfect I suggest you get this massage in the nude so nothing gets in the way of their magical healing hands. I felt completely relaxed and was in a daze when I walked out my room. I love it here and will be returning once a month with my friend. NOTE: The facility is clean and the staff was professional and polite. Be sure to tip on your way out. Ladies, your makeup will be messed up at the end of your massage. I came her to treat myself to a massage after a stressful week at work. I got a hour long massage for $37 and it was truly worth every penny!! This is the kind of place where several people get massages in one large room but it was quiet and clean. The massage was thorough and firm, just like I prefer. The foot massage was the most enjoyable since they submerged my feet in warm water and it was so relaxing!! This place accepts walk ins and the staff is helpful! They also offer you a small glass of water after the massage so you can hydrate up before leaving. I've been going here for about five years. I went every two weeks when I was pregnant and had an amazing relaxing massage (my son is two now and I attribute his extremely happy and relaxed and laid back demeanor to how I treated myself during my pregnancy-lots of massages) ! Now I go about monthly. I went last night after a long week of work and then a long busy weekend w family. I've had a variety of therapists. I use to go to Lucy when I was pregnant but she doesn't work there anymore, now I go to Cindy or Ken. Ken worked out knots I had in my upper back and shoulder and arms that I never thought could be worked out. I got a 90 minute massage for $70 (with credit card) I know they charge less with cash. I actually tried going somewhere closer to home I live in concord hills and no one had availability. I love how head to toe spa always seems to fit you in. When you arrive they ask you for preference on focus points and history of injuries or sensitivities and male or female preference. I've had Ken before for foot massages a few times but it was my first time for a body massage. Ken was thorough, checked in often on pressure and was especially professional and respectful of my body. I always felt comfortable and well taken care of. It's always amazing to me how some massage therapists can actually find the exact spot to get the knot out, that was Ken. He is well experienced in massage therapy, you can tell by the way he works out the specific sites of tension. When I left I felt so relaxed and it carried over to my work day today. I'm a nurse who works 12 hour shifts and I felt so revitalized and de-stressed at work today and I just had to write a review and note that Head to Toe Day Spa does have exceptional therapists and I'm so grateful! I've been to a LOT of Asian massage spas in the Bay Area and I feel like statistically I always get the best massage here. You have to tell them what you want and you can't expect extras, like amenities, they get down to business with deep tissue massages !! Found this place last weekend while strolling on Locust St. in Walnut Creek, asked if they would do deep tissue and the gentleman (might have been the owner) said YES YES.. so I went in - since had nothing else to do, had shoulder and back pain and the price was amazingly appealing.. $29 for one hour oil massage.. Aaaaamazing! I had my massage with Lily, a very strong lady who did a fantastic, I mean out of the world, job! I get massages often, and know if someone is just rubbing muscles or knows what they are doing... this lady definitely knows how to do deep tissue and does really well. I had a 90 minute oil massage, so had a private room so I could get out of my clothes and be comfy. Cost $65 + $15 tip which I gave her directly This place is kind of like the "Happy Feet Foot Spa" in San Jose and Palo Alto, with the addition of the private rooms for "oil massages" .. No frill and easy going, not your typical day spa with - they had clean sheets, soothing music, good smelling rubbing oil.. LOVED it This place will become a part of my weekly routine - A month's worth of massages for the price of 1! read more

What a find this place is! Thanks to my dear friend who recommended this place, I ended up booking some pre valentines day massages for my hun and I : ) Located off Locust St right next to a thrift store and a Sushi restaurant, I would have never have known this place existed if it wasn't for my friend. I had my hun get the 55 min foot massage ( he has a really bad foot) which comes with a 20 min back massage for around $ 40.00. I just got the 20 min foot massage ( they all come with a AMAZING head massage and little back massage) for a$20.00. (Oh and Bring cash!! They charge like $2.00 extra per service on the credit card) I really love the nice ( not super fancy) tranquil, relaxing atmosphere. Me and my hun got to sit next to eachother...awwe...LOl The place is quite small though they have a nice sized massage rooms in the back. We both started with the foot. I got a guy named Tommy ( I had heard he is good) and my hun got a woman ( can't recall her name) They start the massages off with an incredible head massage which then leads into a nice little neck/back massage. Call and and make an appointment. This place gets very busy and books up fast!! One hour and a half massage. You can not go wrong with this place. It was very clean, everything was new. I love the sheets plus the velvet overlay they use for their clients. I felt very comfortable with the temperature in the room. The music was at a great level, not too loud and not too low. It was very relaxing. My MT listened to what I expected and requested. She was very professional and and very courteous. My back and shoulders feel awesome!
