Love the teachers. Love all the memories I shared here. I'll fully disclaim my bias - I grew up in this dance school. However, being biased doesn't mean I'm wrong. Mitsi Shen is one amazing woman and dance instructor. She's dedicated decades to passing on her passion and technique in dance (ballet and Chinese dance). She hires very well trained teachers and shows extreme professionalism and patience to groom each student that has a heart to learn. It was like a family there. I made life long friends in my 13 years at the dance school and went from being a fidgeting tomboy to loving the art of dance. To the moms concerned with repetition, I'd say that dance training (similar to other trainings) involves a lot of repetition. Your princess might be doing chases and plies until she's 5 (and thereafter I'm sure). But she will improve each year and eventually she'll have strong muscles from the repetitions and move on to leaps and turns. Ballet is a great foundation for other styles! You can't go wrong sending your kids here! ...And it is my humble opinion that all little girls should dance! =D

It's not a very big space, but good enough for the students and waiting parents. The front staff is very kind - they have worked with me in terms of financial situations and have always welcomed my daughter regardless. Mrs. Hitt has been my daughter's teacher since she first started and my daughter admires Mrs. Hitt very much. She refuses to go to any other dance school or teacher because she has so much love and respect for her ABS teacher. Recitals are well organized and very memorable. There are fees that come with it such as the costume fee, recital fee, and separate tickets fee. I don't find it a problem and they handle the entire recital ordeal very well.

Parents are welcome to drop off, wait in the lobby, or go into the room with your child. Students can also have remote lessons, if needed. All rooms are also equipped with cameras for the front office staff to watch. Students learn from a set curriculum of books that parents purchase from online retailers like Amazon and will also self-select or be given a recital piece to practice. Recitals are held twice a year at their Cypress location. The teachers are very helpful and we love our teachers! It is very easy to schedule makeup lessons and skip a lesson for a week.
