We only left bc my daughter wanted to switch to gymnastics. The teachers were great. Most of all, the owners were amazing. They were so authentic and it was clear they loved all the kids. It was very family oriented. It is a safe place, great set-up, and has close circuit cameras for parents to watch classes, in the lobby. I recommend it often to other parents. If my daughter ever switches back to dance, I will gladly drive 35 minutes to this place.

Don't lose heart, parents, this journey requires you to let go and let the teachers do their job. The dynamic of the class varies, but the teachers are consistent. My initial impression was good because they have a lot of good morals and they are actually teaching the little girls good technique. However, after a few months, I started to notice that there was a lot of distraction happening, especially in the little girls class. The instructors focus was to try and convince even younger little girls maybe two years old and younger to try and come in to take the class. The instructors attention to the girls sitting on the floor with their parents Was more than 50% of the class this really distracted my child. I had my in-laws and my husband also take my daughter when I could not and they did not have any nice things to say about the class. They mentioned that expectation was way too strict for little girls And my husband did not like the atmosphere that was set by the owners-- he said that they were not friendly toward him at all as a first time parent parent taking his child. As a dancer, myself with a degree, I also understand that temperature is important in the studio, but in the summer months it was way too hot almost 80°. I don't think this is an appropriate temperature. I don't think they carry themselves in a nurturing and comforting way. We have found the climate to be very militant as opposed to relational. They are diplomatic and do nice things for the community, but not enough to keep us here. We will not return to take class.

It has made life so much easier for our family while allowing our girls to explore and grow in so many different ways. The coaches are incredible. They genuinely care about each child, know when to encourage them, when to challenge them, and are always their biggest advocates. At 77yo, I enjoy the pool very much. Before my back surgery I was doing laps but had to back off that until Oct 15th. So I do physical therapy walking exercises in the pool for now. The water is always just the right temperature and it is always clean. Every one of the lifeguards are friendly and helpful and one of them always gets the door for me when I come in and out with my walker. The overall staff here are helpful, friendly and most importantly, patient. I want to mention in particular the custodial staff, who are responsible for keeping Monty Ballard in tip top condition. They are fast to clean up messes and keep on top of all the daily upkeep. All in all, I highly recommend this YMCA.

This Katy Cinco Ranch location is very family oriented and has plenty of space & equipment. I have yet to have any issues with waiting to use equipment even when it is busier. You will find a surplus of treadmills, free weights, squat racks, benches, and more for all your exercise needs. There is also a child care area available for the younger ones. In addition, they also have a gymnasium with multiple side rims, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool. Other areas available include a stretch room, cycling room, group exercise room, and another smaller weight room. They have plenty of locker/storage space as well, located is some weight rooms, outside the restroom/pool area, and inside the restrooms as well (the ones in the restroom require your own lock). One of the things I love most is they have a water fountain with a filtered water bottle filler so I can bring my empty water bottle from home and fill it with water at the Y for my workout. Another thing I appreciate are the several sanitizing stations for your hands and for wiping down equipment. Overall I'm extremely happy with this Y. The staff are very friendly, they have plenty of parking and allow 3 free guest passes per year (my previous Y made you pay for all guest passes). The only slight negative I've found so far is that they don't provide basketballs for the gymnasium due to people not returning them, which is understandable. Thus, I highly recommend this YMCA!
