Not 5 stars as in fine dining, but a solid 5 stars for being exactly what it is intended to be: a small local takeout sushi & Japanese spot with good food and reasonable prices. While they do have a few tables, please be aware that this is not really a sit down kind of place. It is, however, an ideal place to call in an order at the end of the work day and swing by on the way home.

Best sushi in the area! And love the fast quick delivery! Cute and small eat in area. Sushi is always fresh. Their fried rice is delicious and the staff are always helpful and courteous. Highly recommend. Updated: I went again and same consistent delicious food. I got the Hazuki roll which is a tempura fried roll, I also got the cucumber and avocado roll and vegetable Yaki Soba which are the thin egg noodles, pan fried. Seriously delicious.

    Yuuuummmm!!

We are fans - the sushi was great, fresh, and I like all the different sodas they have. Fair prices, they deliver and do take out. Thinking we are going to be regulars :-)

    Amazing quick takeout

Strip shuma was great. The yellowtail roll was the freshest roll I've ever had. Never disappoints!

Best sushi I've ever had, no complaints at all. I've tried all the local places and even some further out. They have the best Dragon roll

Consistently high quality sushi for the best prices around. The fish was so fresh and succulent, it really took me aback.

Ambiance is so cute and quaint. Soft soothing music playing in the background. Cozy and inviting. Food was outstanding! Every appetizer had my tastebuds craving for the next one. The blackberry sorbet was the perfect palette cleanser. On to the main course. The scallops were cooked to perfection, juicy and succulent. But the chicken katsu was the real star of the night. Perfectly crispy outside served on top of a bed of curry rice pilaf. Hands down the best dish I've ever had in this city. Tried to savor every bite. As if that wasn't enough, the experience ended with a decadent chocolate bomb. Chocolate truffle filled with rich ganache and served with a side of coffee caramel ice cream. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and delightful omakase experience.

Plenty of parking in the lot - the place does quite a bit of takeout but we opted to eat in. Handful of tables but the inside does need a little bit of tidying up - the front area had a bunch of boxes sitting there. We ordered a few different Asian cuisines - sushi, Thai and Chinese - b/c why not? Our faves were actually all the non Chinese options (pad thai and sushi). We were pleasantly surprised we liked the sushi as much as we did as we weren't expecting much. We were too full from the apps (gyoza and boneless ribs) and sushi so ended up taking our entrees home. But we actually enjoyed pretty much everything we had - the apps were our least favorite. They weren't bad, just subpar. The service was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Seeing that the restaurant does quite a bit of takeout, we weren't sure of the level of service but it was excellent. We will def be back again to try other options they offer.

The woman inside came right over to take my order and was very friendly. I ordered the #86. Came with 8 boneless ribs, 4 chicken wings, 5 chicken fingers and pork fried rice. A huge amount of food for a little over $13! Absolutely delicious. I had 3 meals out of it. Wings were nice and crunchy on the outside and meaty and juicy on the inside. I can't wait to try their other menu items. Great stuff!

It's also not often that I munch on mashed potatoes; a side of sweet mashed potato, with a touch of cinnamon, is another story. Not only did its flavor complement the jazzy tang of the fish, it melted in my mouth like a loaf of church bread. Even the Brussels sprouts were seasoned and roasted enough that it helped break up the sweeter flavors. I must give a special thanks to last night's waitress. Angela not only kept up a confident and friendly face throughout our stay, but her attentiveness reminded my family just what it was that kept bringing us back here. The average visit to this restaurant is also defined by its bustle: an organized crowd arrangement is the lifeblood of the experience. Nobody's grumpy, everything that happens in the kitchen is never a second wasted, and (if my construction stepdad's words are anything to go by) even the architecture is superb. Think of it like a city packed into a house, restaurant on one end, memorabilia in the middle, and sushi bar on the opposite side. That's the beauty of Mattapoisett!
