I'm travelling down from Niagara Falls Canada and I'm very particular about my nails. As I usually have bio gel , I was worried that I might not get a fill that is to my standards. Unfortunately I didn't have the outcome I hoped for after seeing photos online. For $50 (+$35 for a pedicure) I paid for dipping powder only, that's all the nail tech did just prime and dip my nails in the powder. No manicure, no massage, it was messy & rushed, powder everywhere that felt super uncomfortable & the French is uneven. I wasn't in the mood to speak up about the service and even tipped $20 ( the pedicure was good, hence the extra star). I won't be going back. read more

This business deserves more than five stars! We were visiting from Ohio and I promised my 11 year old she could get her nails done- I called and they answered promptly and I set up the appointment! Upon arrival they were very welcoming and sweet! The male technician was amazing and fast! Best of all they were so friendly and talkative. The prices were extremely reasonable! I have been going to Hazels Nail Spa since they opened months ago. I have lived in Sarasota since 1992, and needless to say have been to many Nail Salons. Hazels is just a wonderful breath of fresh air, and also great professional nail techs. I use Mary for nails and peds and waxing, but Hazel is very good too, and I have used her when Mary was gone or busy. The atmosphere is quiet, clean, professional, and happy. This nail salon is nestled right in a quaint shopping center along Clark Road. Lee and Tina are wonderful, great to talk to, and overall left me and my friend with one of the most delightful experiences we have had at a nail salon in Sarasota. Needless to say, our experience was slightly ruined in the manner of a rude older women shushing and scrutinizing our friendly conversation that my friend and our nail technicians had been having- claiming we couldn't talk cause SHE was there to relax. I hope the nail technicians do not need to deal with her grumpy, miserable self any more. We will look forward to visiting Shanghai Nails at a later time without her miserable company. read more

After reading reviews on Shanghai Nail Spa I decided to ditch my previous salon down here due to many recent poor reviews. (I'm a snowbird). It did not disappoint. My deluxe pedicure was seriously the best one I have ever had anywhere. Stephanie did my pedicure which included a leg and foot massage that was so relaxing I almost fell asleep and it lasted over an hour! They didn't have any more of the dip color I wanted, so they custom created one similar by combining dips! The fact that they took the time to do that was amazing! They are a small family business who don't take on more clients than they can handle at any given time. Lee did my dip and did a phenomenal job! They are friendly, take pride in their work and sanitation is top notch! I will definitely be back! Also, Tina noted that I like sparkly dips so is going to order in more colors! read more
