    Personal sized "New York" Pizza.

I've come here before and really enjoyed it so I don't know what happened. I arrived at 3:15 pm and ordered a personal pizza. I didn't get the pizza until 4:30. The waiter was very nice and apologetic, but that is just crazy. Also I asked for a regular crust pizza with cheese and garlic and what I got hardly seemed worth the 75-minute wait....no garlic, just-- I think --dough and cheese???what happened there Haystack?

The family and I went to Haystacks -- a place I've been visiting for over 40 years. The pizza is fantastic, and every entrée is always delicious. You can never go wrong there. We were there recently and had Ryan as our waiter. He was courteous, professional, and took great care of us. We left with happy tummies. Ryan, please say hello to George and the rest of the gang for us. The Ultimate Pie ingredients; Feta, Dbl Cheese, Garlic, Pepperoni, Sausage and Salmi. Deeeelicious!

Phone vs pizza size ...so disappointing for the $$

Haystack pizza has always been the neighborhood go-to for a great salad and pizza. I get why the prices went up but when you order your traditional pizza for 2 and it's barely the length of your iPhone, it's not quite worth the price hike anymore. Salads are great but we'll be skipping the $18 cellular size pizza from now on. (And this was not a starter on the menu) See pic

In the back/event room of Haystack's, I hosted a birthday party for my daughter with a total of 12 teen girls. It was fantastic, fun and memorable! I highly recommend Haystack's Pizza especially for an event. Service - Throughout the event, Ryan and Tina went out of their way to accommodate us. It really made the party very special. They are just really kind and friendly people. Atmosphere - Haystacks has a genuine and comfy feel to it. It is not trying to be hip, cool or fancy. Sometimes just being in a space with character (and not just white walls and soft colored wood) plus a down to earth feel, feels nice. The back room feels like your in a New York Little Italy restaurant with one of those pretty murals on the wall. We pushed tables together so that all the girls could face one another in a "circle" arrangement. It really worked out well. I also brought some of my own decorations that upleveled it. Pizza - We ordered 3 regular cheese Haystack pizza's (14 slices each) with some bread and a salad (for adults). The pizza sauce was yummy. Only 4 pieces of pizza were left! Everyone enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back.

I think it's been 20 years since the last time i was here so i thought i would come and get a pizza with my cousin before he took me home. well i was disappointed in the service the old man that served me was rude as fuck rushing me to order a pizza and he was very grump. Then when the pizza came they changed the sauce because it was too sweet it was horrible i love all the toppings but i only ate two pieces and i gave one to my cousin and he thought the samething and it was too sweet. I used to come here as an teenager because i knew the family and i went to school with the Son. But i think they changed not sure if it's by the same family different generation? But they need to get a different cook because that pizza sauce if it's the same for the spaghetti it's horrible and i definitely will never come back I'd rather go to Domino's and get a $8 Pizza instead of spending 20 bucks. LOL The restaurant did an upgrade so it was really nice and they have a lot of different beers and wine. So if you like a quiet place come here and you like sweet sauce then you will like it if not don't bother. Thanks for reading my review. ~Lizzie~ :)

Lost me as a customer. I use to love this place....not sure what the deal is now'. The wings and fried I ordered were inedible. Old overcooked pieces of meat. Not even wings just pieces of broken bones. The garlic fried has zero garlic, soaked in oil. Just wasted my $. Very disappointing complete rip off. Do better for your customers that are trying to support a neighborhood business.

I have been going to Haystack for over 30 years and was so disappointed in my personal size Alberto Classico pizza 20% smaller and 14.00 I don't care that you raise the price but shrinking the size of the pizza is insulting I did'nt realize till I got home what a disappointment and soggy. won't return

Just OK. And delivery is super slow, tried a few times hoping it was a fluke, but no improvement. Crust is just average.

They shorted us a meal on our delivery order. Then refused to make good on the mistake. Avoid Haystack at all costs.

I met my dear friend here for dinner on Friday night and it was packed inside and out. The wait was about an hour or so, even with her calling that morning to put her name on the waiting list. We walked around and had a drink next door. Plan accordingly! My friend highly recommend the Meatball Gigante. It's one giant Meatball with your choice of sauce. We got the wild mushrooms, pancetta cream sauce. The sauce is where the magic happens. You can easily dip an entire loaf of bread with that addicting sauce. The meatball is full of flavors. They menu says they limit 25 orders a day. I guess we were lucky! We also got the Fried Ricotta Stuffed Squash Blossoms. I have been wanting to try this dish. I remember my old Italian neighbor used to ask my mom for the blossoms each year. Not my favorite but it was okay. For the star of the night, we got the New Yorker pizza (gold medal winner Las Vegas) with sliced mozzarella, hand crushed tomato sauce, cup & char pepperoni, sliced sweet 7 spicy Italian sausage, ricotta, chopped garlic & oregano. The crust is perfect. You know it's legit when sauce is dripping out from the corner of your mouth when you take a bite and the cheese is still pulling away. I love it that the slices are cut big so you can fold it in half. IYKYK. I see what the hype is about! We sat outside to reduce the wait time. I would love to sit inside the next time I come back and I want to try other dishes. The menu is huge and I hardly made a dent. A gem in San Francisco!

The interior is spacious, going way back, for all the pizza ovens, staff and supplies. The customer area is slightly larger than restroom size, from kiosk counter to seating. There was one cushioned window seat big enough for three. The rest was standing area or outside to wait. There is one kiosk to order. Fortunate for us we were the only two. Two pizzas were ordered - one cheese ($21.95) and meat lovers (24.95). The total was $50 for two pizzas about the size of an opened shoe box. The crust of each pie was thick, deep, crunchy, buttery and greasy on the lips. The cheese stretched hanging to the piece it was being pulled from. Lots and lots of cheese for both pies. The meat lovers had a good amount of meat spread across, not quite covering the surface of each slice. With an option to cut the pies into 4-8 slices, we opted for six slices each. Hungry, not starving, two pies of cheese were enough for me. Square Pie Guys is a splurge worth spending on. Definitely quality ingredients, freshness, well prepared and satisfying. About a 5-10 minute walk from Civic Center Bart. You can call ahead and have it ready when you arrive. Cards and tap accepted. Not sure how cash would work.

I love having the Ellen pizza and a beer each time I visit. This time, I ordered the Ellen and the Mushroom pizza. The mushroom pizza was on the "sweet" side. Next time, I'll just order 2 Ellen pizzas! They are baked perfectly and each piece of pizza has wonderful baked perfectly crust! LOVE the Ellen pizza most! The mushroom pizza seemed like it was very sparse on ingredients, never again. I always ask for crispy but not burnt. I also take my leftovers home in a nice "to go" box for evening snack or lunch the next day. Service is fast, friendly and efficient. Thank You for the yummy pizzas each time! See you next time! :0)

My go to order is The Loading Dock pizza which comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella, soppressata, sausage, mushroom, garlic, thyme and parmesan cheese. I love how you can taste each ingredient on its own and one doesn't overpower the other. This time I decided to also get the Pesto which comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, red onion and topped with pesto and parmesan cheese. I also added chicken to it and that was real yummy. The guy at the counter offered parmesan cheese, but since I don't like the packaged fake stuff I kindly declined and told him why. To my surprise he said, "This is not the crappy stuff. We actually grate our own cheese in house". That's all I had to hear... In that case, give me all the Parmesan cheese you can without getting in trouble! Lol. If you're ever in the area, you should definitely check it out. Parking really sucks though fyi

The Pizza Shop doesn't mess around - their pies are huge. We ate two slices each and I grabbed a box for the leftovers. The atmosphere is noteworthy: there is a pinball machine and the music is a little bit loud, but we were able to have a conversation without much difficulty.
