I'M NOT KIDDING; THERE were 80 PEOPLE IN LINE. Are you kidding me? As a tax and county paying citizen this is a joke. There should be a way to do something as minimal as transferring a car title to not require HALF OF YOUR work day! Get a bigger dang office, and streamline the the systems. Not one single greeter or anywhere or signs to direct the customers; no one working there even cared nor knew about the numbers of people in the halls and waiting area. For all we know they could have been past fire code. We need new leadership in our county offices; that is just unsustainable and a waste of our taxing paying time. read more

Well, well, well, it's very rare for me to give a GOVT office a 4-star rating, but it was smooth today. I went here for my vehicle registration. You must get a wait ticket upon entering, smooth process. There were 3 windows working and my wait was 8 minutes. WOW! Then, it took only 5 minutes to register two cars! Nice experience. read more

Anytime I go to a government office I expect it to be understaffed, a long wait time and grumpy people. It is my goal to walk in there and bring as much joy to the peoples day as possible. This office opened at 8:00am. As I pulled up there was a parking lot that looked pretty full. I saw someone driving towards the back so I followed them and there was a lot more parking. Then the person went in and I look at the clock it was 8:15am. I noticed that the back entrance was for employees only. I called at 8:17 and was told to come around the side facing the baseball field. I go inside grab a ticket from the kiosk. That ticket is time stamped 8:20am. I was called in at 9:04am to window #2. This lady was the NICEST lady I have ever met! I mean absolutely a joy!!! I was out with my registration at 9:09am. Literally waited 44 minutes for a 5 minute appointment. Tip: Bring cash and save $3 Registration was $74 but I ended up paying $77 Overall great experience! Just make sure your battery is charged to keep you busy while you wait. read more

We visited the Kyle location and we had Very good friendly service. 3 stars because, I Just wish over the Holidays they would have posted their dates closed and open, I even called it just said closed for the Holiday and would be open the next business day. They were closed Friday 22nd and didn't open until Wednesday 27th - wasted trip twice saw a poor older gentleman freezing on the morning of 26th this could definitely have been prevented. read more

Rude service towards my husband. Came here to get vehicle registered, as my husband and I walk to the counter to process everything, the lady helping me on #2 tells my husband "okay you can go wait for her outside" really rudely. He says oh okay, walks outside. Then I look to my left, and see there is another couple standing next to me in the next # over, and the person helping them didn't tell one of them to go outside and wait. Then I look over even another #, and there's a guy standing with a kid next to him with no issue there either. I feel like we were really singled out and mistreated, my husband was spoken to really rudely and fair treatment wasn't given to us compared to others. read more

I've been in hays county for a decade now. I've been to the old tax accessors office many times over the years and always received good service. Today I went to the office and found it was closed and moved to a new location about 9 miles away. Not a big deal I hopped back in the car and drove to the new office (which is now located in one of the more congested areas of town). I walked in and attempted to open the door to the tax accessors office, it was locked. I looked down and observed the time was 4:32pm. I knocked lightly on the door to see if there was a chance they could go ahead and help me or answer my question. Both women ignored me. I walked over to the door to confirm the hours, sure enough... They close at 4:30pm. I then knocked again to ask if there was any way they could help. The woman finally looked up and announced "we are closed". Very frustrating! If this were a private business, either the women would be fired, or the business would be closed. read more

The county offices like all other business is effected by COVID -19 so only a few citizens can be allowed in the foyer at a time , it was morning when i went to pay our taxes for the year and reg a auto, there were 5 folks in front of me in line and about 4 behind and only 2 windows were open .everybody was wearing a mask the line moved at a normal pace and i was in and out within a hour, didnt notice any extra delay then previous years when there were no health restrictions. the clerk who took my money was polite and even thanked me the process went the same as usual. only down as always was parting with that much cash that hurt . read more

This place is terrible. They will have over 100 people waiting to get there registration or taxes payed and only (2) employees working the windows. For the amount of people that come here they should have at least all (5) windows opened. Someone NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!!! read more

While waiting and listening in the lobby, I'm amazed at how many grumpy people this office has to deal with on a daily basis. This office is well run and the staff is very helpful. I seem to usually get the same person, Bonnie, and she has always greeted me with a smile and is extremely helpful. read more

I have been going to this location for the last past 5 years now. I have to say it's better than any Travis county offices. I go 4 times a year for different vehicles and only once did I have to wait for an hour. So I have been fortunate thus far. average wait of 30 to 45 mins. no complaints here. read more

Better send your taxes by registered mail! If they lose it, there is no recourse. They will not accept copy of check that was mailed on time, 'their hands are tied' you just have to pay penalty. Interestingly, there is land man in area specializing in taking over oil leases when taxes in arrear.... read more
