I neglected to spruce up my tootsies before a special weekend, so I turned to Yelp to save me once again. I called Hayden Nails & Spa mid-day to see if they take walk-ins and they do. I checked in at the reception desk and was taken to the pedi chair within minutes. Han did my pedicure and he did a great job. Like I said, I had neglected my tootsies and I don't normally do that, but when you're busy and in a bind, you have to get help, lol. He was very thorough with cleaning. From clipping my nails to the top coat, he made sure I was comfortable and even put my slides back on my feet. Pricing is reasonable, the shop is clean and the service is great! I accidentally left one of my lip glosses behind, as it fell out of my pocket and onto the chair when I left. Only after I got on the freeway did I realize it was gone. I called them immediately and asked if they found it. They did and I told them I'd come by on Monday to pick it up. I felt like the first experience was stressful getting my nails done, because the technician kept yelling at me to relax and making weird facial expressions and gasps when looking at them while she worked. I ended up liking the way they looked, but it could have been more relaxing of an experience. I was sad that my pedicure (purple photo) chipped after a couple weeks, which I assumed wouldn't happen if I used gel. So the next time, I got gel on the toes and acrylic nails, which they did with gel polish. It chipped off of my nails in 1 week, which has never happened before. I realized that most places use acrylic color that is baked into the polish, so it lasts longer, but they used gel polish painted on top of acrylic nails, so it pealed off quickly, I will go to another place next time. read more

I came to this salon based on the nail art and Gel-X work they consistently showcase on their social media. As a first-time customer, I intentionally requested a very simple design so I wouldn't overwhelm the nail techs. To my surprise, I was met with confusion and the impression that what I wanted was "too much" or somehow not doable. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the intricate designs displayed on their Instagram--designs far more complex than what I was asking for. My nail tech ended up asking multiple coworkers about my request, and each one responded that it was "too complex," which only added to the confusion. When I asked who was responsible for the detailed nail art featured on their instagram, they pointed to a tech two chairs down. She came over, looked at my reference photo, and immediately said she couldn't do it despite the fact that the client currently in her chair was receiving one of the most detailed and intricate manicures I've ever seen. The disconnect between what this salon advertises and what they are actually willing to provide is false advertising to me and It comes across as selective and misleading, and the entire experience felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. I came in for a gel manicure before a work trip. The manicure chipped just 5 hours after getting it. I went in the next morning and they fixed the chipped nail but while they were fixing it they filed all of the other nails -- I don't know why, because they were just filed and shaped the day before. After a quick google, I found out that filing gel nails leaves them prone to even more chipping. Sure enough, literally within 10 mins of getting home, 2 more nails chipped. I'm now at the airport on my way to this trip with chipped nails that I can't fix because they're gel. read more

A couple of things that left a distaste in my mouth here. For one, appointments seem not to matter. Myself and four other ladies were waiting for over thirty minutes. Poorly run establishment to keep so many people waiting. I came in for a gel pedicure and noticed the man didn't reach for fresh sanitary tools, I made comment and he fetched some. Are we really needing to ask for sterilized tools? Come on. Lastly, there's a 15% checkin offer on Yelp for this location. My pedicure was $48 and the discount was to be $7.20. The woman ringing me out didn't want to give me more than $6. Don't offer the discount then. She clanked buttons into a calculator 5 times. I waited because 15% is 15%. The little old man who did my toes was nice and I gave him a cash tip. Unfortunately I will never return. More headache than it's worth. read more

I had them put gel X on for my first time ever. I hated them and went back because the color match was not right. They painted more of the same color on top of what I already had except there was no fade. I asked for pink and white ombré. It was more of a peach and cream. The ombré was smudged. And they turned brown. It had been three weeks when they turned brown. By then I felt going back again that late would be bad on my part. The original person who did my nails was the owner. The second person who supposedly "fixed" the color was a man. I won't ever go back there. I won't ever get gel X again because of my bad experience. They are impossible to get off. Soaking them every time I need a fill or to change the color is not something I want to do either. read more

My husband and I are visiting Scottsdale from NYS and I needed my nails to be done. Just looked online for a salon with high stars and landed on this one near our rental. I dragged my husband with me and he got a pedicure. Hai was his technician and hubby seemed to be enjoying his pedi. I looked over and Hai was talking to him ( My husband is disabled ) and using pressure points on areas of his leg . He asked him to walk for him and, believe it or not, hubby was walking better! Service up and beyond! As for me, I was satisfied with my mani. In NYS I always get powder dip (ANC) but my tech filed / filled my nails rather than a new full set and then polished. She did use a gel (which I have never had before) but they look wonderful. I especially liked that the salon was very clean and and the staff so friendly. We both left satisfied with our service and I recommend them to anyone looking for a nice salon. read more

Okay for starters, I would give this place absolutely no stars if I could. I stopped in today on my way home from work to get a full set done for my birthday this weekend, and left EXTREMELY LET DOWN. I didn't have super high expectations since I've never been in before but god my nails are so terrible. I walked in and asked for a traditional French tip full set. I never once asked for anything else, to be clear I also provided a photo of exactly the style, length and shape I wanted. To me full set has always meant tips applied with acrylic powder- very simple and standard. I was sitting there and the lady starts doing GEL-X press on nails on me, and I was puzzled because that's certainly not what I asked for but I let it go and figured maybe this is the only full set of "fake" nails that they offer. I started to pay very close attention when I noticed that the application seemed extremely unnecessarily rushed. The whole place was dead beside me and two other women getting services- why the rush? She smeared excessive globs of the base adhesive onto the nails and then squished it all out onto the underneath of the nail and onto my skin. Super uncomfortable and ugly. She then began to try and scrape the adhesive off with cuticle trimmers and gouged the shit out of my fingers which caused me to pull my hand away twice out of shock and pain. Moving forward I figure Ugh, I want short nails and French tip so I'm sure this will get concealed it's whatever. I was wrong. She hastily applied the most streaky, and uneven application of the pink base polish. You could still completely see the glue and my natural nails underneath. This may not bother some people but why would I spend this much on nails just to tackily see the real ones underneath?? Again I'm wondering, why the rush?? Then she moves onto apply the white for the tip- the most UNHINGED un-methodic application I've ever seen and created the most INCONSISTENT shaped white tips. After rushing through that she passes me off to someone else who clearly had absolutely no idea what they were supposed to be doing because she had to keep shouting directions at them to understand. The second lady begins to file my painted and dry nails. WHY WOULD YOU FILE PAINTED AND DRYED NAILS? Only to scratch off paint on the edges and tips. Made absolutely no sense. I asked twice for them to be corrected only to be blown off and told the top coat would correct it (How?! It's clear!). Usually I hold my tongue when it comes to little things I notice wrong with nails because nothing is perfect but the fact that I politely asked twice for corrections to be made only to be blown off really pisses me off. Then she tells me it's gonna be SEVENTY dollars for these horrid things. I left without tipping and certainly wish I could have my money back. What a shitty way to leave feeling after looking forward to getting nice nails for my birthday. -I'll also attach the photo I showed of what I wanted and you tell me if they look ANYTHING ALIKE read more

My mom and I came to this nail salon yesterday. They had a good wall of pedicure stations which was really nice because my mom and I got to sit together. The staff there was very quick about getting to our nails and they were able to accommodate us within less than 5 minutes of being there as walk-ins. The staff was friendly to us during our visit. A friend and I went for pedicures. I wanted gel and my friend just wanted regular polish. First they do not separate their polish choices, so the gel is in the same sample ring. While my pedicure was fine. My girlfriend was a guinea pig for a new guy. It was not a great experience for her. My girl had to keep telling him what needed to be fixed. Went to Hayden nails & spa for a pedi last week on whim because they're close to my apt. They got me right in and gave such a good pedicure. Massage and hot stones included. My friend invited me to get a men's manicure while she got a full gel manicure. We had an appointment for 4:30, and after 5pm, were ready to walk out when we were finally seated. We waited even longer and then got our manicures at the same time. Mine was done in a few minutes and only included cuticle treatment. When cleaning up the cuticles, the technician accidentally cut me (he apologized several times and I wasn't upset by the accident). I was expecting to have my nails filed and buffed, but neither was done so my cuticles were cleaned up but my hands were left dry and my nails were exactly the same as when I came in. Total was $22 before tip and the manicures took 2 hours from when we arrived to cashing out. Unfortunately, I won't be a return customer. read more
