By far one of the best manicures I have ever gotten. This photo was taken 16 days after my gel manicure with Katie. She was so meticulous and it shows with how well they are growing out. I usually have to get them redone after 8 or 9 days but I am in awe read more

I got a pedicure here yesterday and my right toenail is extremely swollen and extremely red. Don't go here if you don't want a toenail infection. I can barely walk on my foot it's so swollen and painful. Puss has started to come out as you can see in the last two pictures. If the health and safety of customers is important I shouldn't have gotten an infection in the first place and get my money back doesn't help I have to go to the doctor and deal with an PAINFUL infection for who knows how long.. read more

I have been coming here for years. Keeps getting worse and worse. I always wait during my appointment time. I drove 30 minutes, was 5 minutes late because it's raining, and she took someone else DURING MY APPOINTMENT TIME!!!Horrible customer service! Especially since I am a regular client and came for years. I'm done coming here, there are so many better places that do a better job and are nicer. No wonder this place is going under. The place is a little older inside and a bit messy but the service is top notch. Cindy does the best manicure and pedicures.

I really liked getting my nails done but it seems like the price keeps going up. I guess it's the sign of the times. Maybe I am hard on my hands but the polish always always chips. I had sns 2 days ago and today I have 2 chips Last time they chipped after a week. Sometimes the polish cracks. For 48 bucks I just can't justify going every 2 weeks. Guess I'll go back to getting regular manis read more

Should have read the reviews before stepping out and getting cleaned up. They did an okay job; I wasn't impressed. I have gotten more for what I paid at other locations. Wife and I will not be back, especially when you have the audacity to demand a tip to be added or give cash directly. I am not a fan of places that except a tip. I was going to give one but after that I gave less. Tips shouldn't be demanded, especially when you cut the shit out of my finger. read more

I made an appointment two weeks ago for myself and a friend on a Sunday. They took my info and confirmed. i don't know why their place doesn't have better reviews. I came in for the first time after being referred by my good friend that has came here for over 10 years to get her nails done. I loved it. The workers there were very nice and kind and made sure i was well attended to. They made sure to communicate on exactly what i wanted so they were sure to do it right. I went to this salon as a walk in. I was promptly greeted and the services were explained to me. The nail tech who worked on my nails did everything I asked and I am extremely pleased with their service! I really appreciate that they are clean and take COVID-19 precautions. Not coming back. I normally have a lot of patience with nail salons because I don't want to be a high maintenance customer but I got a pedicure here and not only did the girl have an attitude, she also did I sloppy job. I have dry skin naturally and she could tell so she tried to up-sell me sugar scrub. When I declined, I felt that she was annoyed. I understand that she might have not meant it that way but that's how her reaction made it seem. I initially chose a blue polish but she started painting my nails and the bottle of polish was basically empty. She told me I'd need to choose a new color but to make it easy I just said white. I know white polish is tricky but she did a sloppy job and didn't even clean it up with acetone and a brush like other salons do. She wiped off the top coat brush onto their brown towel and then proceeded to paint my nail and get brown fuzz on top of the white polish. I pointed this out to her and I got the vibe she was annoyed again! She put my flip flop on after and messed up the polish on one of my toes. A common accident with an easy fix but when I pointed it out to her, she didn't even fix it! She just barely wiped a little bit of the smudged polish off and stuck a cotton ball in between my toes. Then she left and sat by her coworker at a table. When it came time to pay, I tipped her like normal and everything still but as I left I said "bye, thank you!" and she just looked at me. No response, no facial expression, nothing. Next time I'll remember quality is more important that convenience of the location. Go somewhere else if you want a quality pedicure and good experience. read more

I have been going here for a year now and sadly, I have to change my review. I literally get the same gel manicure every time. A base color with loose glitter for an ombré effect. Every. Single. Time. I have to re explain what I want and they roll their eyes. The last two times I pulled out pictures I had taken of my nails and told them, you guys have done my nails like this time every time I come and always make a big deal of it. Come on, can you please just do my nails how I have them every time without an eye roll or a sigh of disgust or trying to tell me they can't do it. I don't know why they have such bad attitudes but they do. I can't handle it anymore. I highly recommend do not go here unless you want a salon full of women who do nails act like you're a moron when you ask them to do something beside a single coat of nail polish. I'm done being treated poorly when I am just trying to relax. read more

I gave this place a second chance because my mother in law swore by a specific person. NO... Dont go here. She told me there was no such thing as gel matte top coat and of course there is....but she used a regular polish matte coat and two hours later it was already scratched up. She wouldn't taper my nails to a coffin shape and some of them are dented in the middle. $60 w tip for a full set with gel. No hand lotion used after, no massage either. Not even cuticle oil!!! Now I've got an appt to get them fixed some where else read more

Getting my nails done is a luxury for me. Paulene's does not make it feel like one. After going for months no one knows my name. (Except Beth who is really a very sweet and good technician.) Can you imagine going to a hair stylist for months and them never knowing your name? Owner is very rude. The last time I was there she was setting appointments the entire time she did my nails. I picked up my phone to look at texts and she grabbed it and put it aside. She recommended that I do dip nails when I asked the price it was so much more than gel and when I inquired why she said, "oh it is too much for you." She lectured me on and on about how I needed to come in more often. The entire experience was so strange that the woman next to me looked at me and raised her eyebrows as if to say, "what?" That was the last time I went. The new salon offers me water the minute I get in and my second time there knew my name. This is what is important for me when I am paying for a service. (I would give four or five stars for Beth.) read more

Been coming here for about 4 years now. Every time I don't know why I do. The girls are awful, they way they talk about customers in their language is horrendous. The wait time can be iffy. Don't even bother making an apt. If the chairs are full, same wait time. Customer service? While you're in a chair they love to kiss your ass to upsell but before or after that? The worst. There are plenty of places around here. I for one won't come back read more

Tried this as a new salon and as a walk in. I was very pleased with the service. While the shop was busy, I was able to be served after a short wait. The nail technician was excellent and followed all COVID-19 precautions; which I appreciated. Average price for a pedicure with the ability to add on extras. Manicures were a fair price and they were able to do any process I wanted. Very nice staff. read more

Omg I'm so happy I found this awesome nail salon! I went in today for a mani and a pedi. It was a busy day, but the lady doing nails took her time and made sure everything was done right. I've met a friend here a couple times because she likes this place and the hot stones they use. Personally, I'm a little more picky about nail salons and as a former massage therapist who used stones during treatment, these were awful. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't anyplace I'd recommend either. My polish started chipping at 3 weeks and they never do a great job scrubbing my heels. Cleanliness, which is my pet peeve, was OK. Places like this are a dime a dozen. You just have to shop around to find one you're are comfortable with. I'm still looking. read more

I've been going to Paulenes for years to get pedicures. Depending on the day and time, this place can get pretty packed. If you go on a weekday during the middle of the day, I've found the experience to be wonderful with a longer massage. The ladies are friendly and do a good job. I really love the hot stones they rub on your legs with the lotion. If you're looking for a clean, professional place to get a pedicure, I would recommend this place. The prices are a tad high but is nice to spoil yourself every once in a while. For a regular pedicure, callus removal and tip, I usually pay around $25. I've never had a terrible experience there and do come with friends often. read more

I'm not one to complain-- I created a Yelp account solely for the purpose of this salon. I am absolutely disgusted by the way Paulene's conducts business. I've been going to them for quite some time, referred friends & even bought gift certificates. On two occasions, my gel manicure started peeling off only a few short days after getting them done. Long story short... I went recently and they used a stale bottle of gel polish, leaving my nails thick & the color uneven. The woman helping "fixed" the problem by putting regular nail polish on top of the gel (which as anyone with gel experience should know, peels right off). She insisted that I come back if it peeled off. Less than 48 hours later, it started coming off, so I went back. She re-did my gels with a fresh bottle of polish in a nearly identical color by a different brand, per my request. I offered to pay; she would not accept payment other than an additional tip (after my 20% two days prior). I went back for my usual appointment today, only to find my nail tech (one who sits in the front far left corner-- different girl from last time) argue with me out of nowhere when I asked for an additional swipe of top coat on one nail. She was rude from the get go, not even responding when I asked how her day was. Then, she screamed (yes, screamed) that the last time, I came in asking for my nails to be re-done days later in a "new color" (i.e. my asking to not use the same stale polish), and that I should stick to regular polish so that I can change the colors myself. I told her that I am paying for a service, a loyal client, tipping generously, and I expect them to look great-- not to mention never coming back. A woman getting a pedi in the chair next to me waited outside to talk to me, applauding me for speaking my mind. I have a feeling she won't be going back either. read more

I've been coming here for years and it's always excellent service! All the employees are so kind and go out of their way to make sure I feel appreciated as a customer. Paulene's nails is a clean salon & the nails techs always do a great job. Only nail salon I'll go to in Scottadale & I'm super picky with my nails & a perfectionist. Cindy is my favorite but they all do an awesome job & never sloppy. They're fast too. Definitely recommend this salon! read more

I am rather picky when it comes to nail salons. I want the polish to last and I want the nail techs to be creative with the design on my toes. I find both of these two at Paulenes and there are two bonuses. The first bonus is as the polish is drying on your fingernails, you receive a neck massage. The second is the hot stone massage on your legs. I drive quite a ways just to go to Paulenes and now I am introducing my friends to their services. read more

I've been there twice now, once for a mani and once for a pedi. Both times they were pretty busy, but very accommodating as long as you didn't mind waiting a little bit. The staff there are very very friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. The shop isn't too big, about 10 pedi stations and 10 mani stations, but they make great use of the space and you never feel crowded. I'm a dude so I can't say much about their abilities to do gels or powdered nails, but all my friends who have been with me say its good stuff. I frequently do this and I will for sure continue to come back to Paulenes. Its a good idea to make an appointment on the weekends as it does get really busy, but as I said before, they try to accommodate as best as they can. read more

Wow- seriously?! 2 weeks ago I came in here to fix a shotty job a previous salon did. Figured I would go back to get my fill, gel polish and pedicure. My nails are thick, my gel polish was ALL OVER my skin and under my nail, and my toes....literally had to come home and redo them myself. I paid $84 for this CRAP! Everyone else got a shoulder massage too, I however did not! I'm NEVER going here again. read more

I originally gave this establishment a 5 star rating. I loved my nails last time and I was treated well. Yesterday i went In for a fill (I called ahead and scheduled it for 4:15). I got there early and was still not seen until closed to 430. Once my nail tech received her payment (asked me for cash before she started polishing) she paid no more attention to me. I waited for 35 minutes for any type of attention or communication regarding why my nails were taking so long to dry. My nail polish came off on my door handle when leaving. Once I got in my car to drive home (I have a 1.5 hour commute to home), I noticed MULTIPLE nails were messed up... this forced me to go back inside and ask them to touch it up. They did, then went back to ignoring me. After 30 MORE minutes of NOTHING being said to me, I leave again. I get it my car, noticing even more sloppiness and flaws on my nails and finally I go back in and demand a refund. The lady at the desk tells me 'you must remember that this is your fault not ours, next time if you get the gel this will not happen' then says she will not give me a refund but will paint my nails again. I tell her NO and that I just want to get home at this point.... She slaps the money I paid on the table (it was also ten short) and then I left. I loved this place, but sadly, most of these negative reviews are true. Do not come here. read more

I am surprised by some of these negative reviews! They must have the wrong Paulene's! All of the ladies that work here are so lovely and sweet! I come in with an elderly companion who is deaf and has a walker. We walk in every 2/3 weeks without an appointment and they are always so gentle, kind, and accommodating to her. My manicure always looks perfect, exactly how I ask. The service is quick and thorough. We love this nail salon and all the girls that work here.
