    We would have selected zero stars if able. We have purchased 2 cars from this dealership prior, we like our Kia's and the service was decent then, not so much now. We made appointment for service and were told it was a $169 diagnostic cost. We went in to service department were not asked name, time of appointment or anything. They seemed bothered by our presence. The service person was shown prior diagnostic codes coming up on the car and we were told: "we can't use those, we do our own", ok I understand that, the "it's not under warranty anymore", which we knew, "are you the original owners?", which if you cared to as our names or anything you could look it up and then "did you buy the car here?, again if you asked our name or looked it up that would be documented. Left the car for diagnostic for the $169 to then me called back next day that we owe almost $380 dollars for 2 hour diagnostics and service charge!!! We were NEVER told it's an hourly rate. When asked service personnel they stated "yeah, we should have clarified". We would have NEVER had them take a look at the car. Husband called the service manager 3 times and always a voice mail. Also Kia of Joliet is a flat rate 169.99 for diagnostic NOT hourly! Or McGrath of Highland park $179.99 for diagnostic. Hmmm, Well played Hawkinson, Avoid using service department at this dealership!

    Look no further this is definitely the dealership to checkout, the service from salesman Thomas Hogan for my Daughter's purchase was outstanding... He's not only good looking but very understanding, straightforward with the details.. no foolishness.. You feel me - you qualify cool - you don't, you just don't... No time wasting here... Just riding out in style from exceptional service not just for that one service but I witnessed a previous customer stop by and they washed their vehicle for No charge.. come on.. what.. That's Service

    Consumers beware. We brought our 2014 Ford Escape to Sutton Ford on January 28, 2026, because it…read morewas shuddering and shutting off once warm. After several days with limited communication, we were told that diagnostic testing identified a coolant sensor issue as the cause. Based on that explanation, we approved the recommended repairs. On February 3, we were informed the vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. We paid $1,180.55 before receiving the keys. However, immediately upon starting the vehicle in the dealership lot, it continued shuddering and shut off. The tire warning light we were told had been repaired was still on. We had to leave the vehicle as it was inoperable. The following day, we were told by the service manager that a full inspection had not initially been completed. Shortly after, the diagnosis changed to a transmission issue with an $8,000 replacement quote. The invoice indicates that no post-repair road test was performed before the vehicle was released to us as "repaired." The original issue was not resolved, and the vehicle remains inoperable. We encourage others to ask detailed questions, request written confirmation of repairs performed, and confirm that a post-repair road test has been completed before paying and leaving the lot. We feel completely scammed by this dealership! Stay away.

I contacted a few dealerships and they were all booked for sometime to come. However, I called Hawkinson Nissan and told them of my dilemma and I asked for assistance ASAP, they told me what time to arrive, I did it, they fixed it... That very day. Jason, in the service department was exceptional! He was very professional, kind and very attentive. The issue was resolved and I was out the door in a good amount of time. So, I asked if I could bring my sisters car and Jason said if I brought it in early next morning, he'd have me in and out ASAP. Done deal! thanks Jason! Lastly, I also stopped by for the first time a few days earlier before the 1st service job to see if they could take a look at a key fob that wasn't working properly. Joel, (see pic) in the retail parts, simply changed the battery and 5 mins & $6 later, I was out the door. Thanks Hawkinson Nissan!

An aggressive staff (Jeremiah) that refused to clarify why he did not point out that the air-bag light was on when I first brought the car in (because it was not on) but like a faulty robot on the following day kept repeating that I should buy a new car. This surely revealed why my car has been tampered with. This out-dated tactic of messing up a car that starts out needing a tune-up and ending up with a massive repair bill after an intensional "throwing a wrench into the works" so as to sell Gerald Nissan's new cars will not work with me.
