I was told the diagnosis would take 24-48 hours. It took about a week. I paid $90 upfront for the diagnostic. I was later quoted $200 to replace the processor chip. I decided not to proceed with the repair and went to pick up my equipment. When I arrived, I was first told it was fixed. Then I was told it was not fixed but that a bad capacitor had been identified and it could be repaired in two hours. I agreed to wait, but then I was told they were going to lunch for a couple of hours. I returned the next day. The next day, the door was locked. I called and was told they were closed. When I asked to pick up my property, the owner became hostile and threatened to call the police. I was told to return the following week. When I went back at 11:30 a.m., I was told there was an issue at the shop and that I would need to meet at another storefront in Hyde Park. I was told to come at 1:30 p.m., then it was changed to 2:30 p.m. I refused the change, and eventually received the address to retrieve my equipment. In the end, nothing was repaired. I was also told they did not have the programmer required and that it would cost $200 for one. I later purchased the same programmer new on eBay for $35 and a replacement chip for $44. The communication was inconsistent, timelines were not honored, and picking up my own property became unnecessarily difficult. Based on this experience, I would not return.

What was predicted to be an 3day repair turned into over 3 weeks due to mistakes, missed deliveries and missteps. After repairing he lied about part delays but later admitted to his staff re-cracking the device . Only after lying about it being delivered broken. He also missed the 3 attempts to delivering when he wasn't open during his business hours. He then completely disassembled my device for an external issue. Only to have my device not turn on after he finally called me to pick up after 3 delays and extensions. He never apologized, never took accountability never fixed the problem. In fact he made it worse. I left with additional issues. Bad decision. Bad business. Bad experience.

No amount of troubleshooting gave me any idea of what happened. In my case fortunately my Sony TV model was specifically covered in a narrow extended warranty for a power board supply issue. After finally getting Sony to act on repairing the TV I was extremely concerned about what vendor they would use in order to repair my TV at home. I certainly did not want there to be any lingering problems or have the repair affect any of the features of my TV and I knew that the quality of the technician would be important. For once, Sony impressed me when they assigned the repair to TV Repair Xperts. from the beginning the company was very fast to reach out to me and explain the timeline on the repair. In addition, they were extremely flexible with respect to repair scheduling and were clearly skilled enough at what they do that they could fit many appointments into one day. My contact there was my new hero, Bill. I scheduled a late day appointment and Bill kept me updated on the day of my appointment as his day progressed. He was especially cordial and professional when he arrived. I had no idea the magnitude of the repair I needed and he was kind enough to explain it to me. He was also kind enough to offer me advice on a software update issue I had been having with this TV. Within just a few minutes, he had managed to reattach the jumble of cords and my beautiful 4K screen came back to life. They may not have a super fancy website or sophisticated marketing, but they will be my absolute first choice and I referral whenever I'm in need of a TV repair again or know someone who is in need of high quality and professionalism. On October 20, 2017 I contacted Marc-Anthony Electronics (formerly known as "BigDog TV & Electronics") to schedule an appoint for TV repair service at my home. On October 21, 2017 Rob came to my house to diagnose the issue I was having with my television. After inspecting my TV, he informed me that I would need a new main board to fix the problem. He quoted me $325 to order the part and perform the work. He informed me that I would need to put down a deposit up front and pay the remaining balance (in cash only) when the work was complete. I said OK and proceeded to pay him $150 via the "Square" credit card payment system. The breakdown for this amount was $55 for the service visit and $95 deposit on the part order and work. Following Rob's visit, I had a discussion with my wife where we decided that we did not need this work done at this time. We are preparing to move and are making an effort to save money for this expense so we did not think that spending $325 to fix a TV is necessary at this time. I communicated this to Rob less than 24 hours after his visit via text message. I explained the situation to him and asked for a $95 refund ($150 minus the $55 service charge) since we no longer needed the repair done. He responded "okay" so I expected to receive my refund in a few days. However, as of today (11/16) I have not received my refund or even a return text message. In total, I followed-up more than 8 times with no response. I opened up a formal dispute with my credit card company. Avoid at all costs.

Had to have the police get involved and even the police told the manager the extra charge was ridiculous and not adding up to what it is supposed to. I paid 125$ deposit and was told 125$ owed to pick up. Then when retrieving my television was told a whole nother price the added taxes fees and shipping when my tv was never shipped. The older man seemed confused and like he didn't know what he was even reading and added a 50 delivery fee to evanston when he didn't come to evanston and the lady over the phone already confirmed they don't charge a delivery fee if dropped if to the same place it was picked up which it was. Had to go to the store and contact more police. BY FAR WORST SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AND I HOPE THEY DONT GET AWAY WITH THIS WITH ANYONE ELSE! I can only imagine how much money they have finessed gettin over on people this way that have not even paid attention to this! Not to mention got back to the store with the police and they hooked the tv up after they told me they turned it on and it was working fine. Just to discover tv still doesn't work 311$ later. No remorse to fair resolution just attitude entitlement and pure ignorance! Please don't waste time go to a big company who stand behind their work!
