I was given a prescription for contacts and one for glasses. Strong Eye Care asked me to send a copy of my current contact lenses prescription so they could see how they had been previously prescribed. I sent a picture with a box clearly labeled with an L to show which was which. I got the new prescription, filled it and got several boxes of contacts. I have been having trouble focusing so I checked the new prescription with my old ones and saw that they were backwards. I spoke with Dr Strong and his fix to his office's blunder was to write me a new prescription. What about all of the boxes of contacts I bought? What about all the headaches and the discomfort of not seeing properly? I seriously thought something had happened to my eye sight. Some moron at Strong Eye Center asked for my old prescription only to ignore it and give the wrong prescription. Simply writing me a new prescription does not correct their mistake. They need to own it and make it right!

During the appointment, I remember getting slightly frustrated because it did take longer than any eye doctor appointment I've ever been to so I hadn't planned for it to take more than 20 minutes. My appointment was a couple months ago, so I can now confidently say the following - it was completely worth the extra time and thoroughness. The glasses I have on now fit perfectly, are completely spot-on the right prescription (there's always been slight variance on my previous prescriptions because they were so rushed), and the doctor and staff went above and beyond to help me get the pair of glasses that I wanted and fit my face perfectly. DR Carter succeeded in giving me better than 20/20 which lasted over 16 years! As I conceded my age was beginning to affect my vision, I went back in Feb 2022. Salzmann Nodule Degeneration was seriously affecting both eyes, he explained. In March 2022, he performed surgery on both eyes to remove the nodules which will be recurring. He also used the latest technology to hopefully slow down the growths. Prokera. Prokera uses the amniotic membrane tissue in its products, which is preserved using the company's proprietary CRYOTEK® processing method to ensure the tissue retains its full biologic activity, Amniotic tissue has natural properties that help damaged eye surfaces heal. Prokera products promote faster and more effective healing of the cornea with less inflammation and scarring, leading to improved clinical outcomes with better vision. Sounds great eh? The process requires manually removing the nodules and then applying the Prokera lenses one eye at a time the day following surgery. The surgery, itself, isn't painful. Now after the surgery, and wearing the Prokera lens for a week is not something I would love to do again, but I will, and just have to deal with it. It helps. I'm typing this review a few days later without any glasses and can see quite well. So it works. I posted a photo of the device next to a nickel. By day 5, it isn't so bad. Let me add something important. I will only let 2 people actually touch my eyes. DR Carter and one of his assistants. I trust no one else, not even me! Yes, he has worked on thousands (if not ten thousands of eyes) (Maybe he needs a sign over the door saying how many he's served.) I get the nod of approval from others he has taken care of when I mention who did the work, a few are fellow Yelpers. Many at my workplace. Some others are quite famous and had million dollar careers riding on their eyes. Huge impact on MANY lives. I see some poor reviews on here, and I guess some had bad experiences. My eyes and ears let me know he does have an amazing staff right now. I saw and heard how well that staff responds to their patients. 16 visits in a bit over a year, and not once heard or saw any patients being mishandled. While we were in his office, he called his friend Dr. James Merritt Oculoplastic Associates of Texas and ask if he would see me. Dr. Merritt ask me to come in the following Monday, this was impressive! Checking in as a new patient, the staff is top shelf, well trained and care about their patients. From the moment Dr. Merritt stepped into the examining room on the first visit, he was professional, compassionate, and took the time needed as we discussed six months of eye pain and problems that had occurred. Dr. Merritt didn't rush a surgery. He scheduled visits and gave time for my eye to completely heal. He has now performed corrective surgery, and I'm on my way to recovery. One of the most memorable experience was in the room awaiting surgery. A beautiful, familiar song began playing, then another song before medication was given.
