I had a lower bleph and chemical peel in May of 2025 by Dr. Vrcek. I was immediately pleased with the results, but waited to review to be certain I loved it. I can honestly say this is the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I'm 37, and I've looked refreshed since last May. No need for under eye concealer. No longer look tired. My under-eye area has remained bright and smooth. It's truly incredible. Love love love my results. Oh- and Dr. Vrcek could not have been more kind. He promptly responded to my emailed concerns and checked in on me. Incredible care!

One year since upper and lower eyelid surgery, ptosis repair, fat repositioning, endo brow lift, and chemical peel. First, my husband and I absolutely agree that Dr. Vrcek is kind and very accessible both prior to and after surgery. While I believe he tries to have his patient's best interest in mind, he failed me. Upon reviewing my insurance claims, we discovered Dr. Vrcek also performed ectropion repair, We had no idea he intended to do this procedure, and it wasn't until after the fact that we learned it had been included. I had never suffered with hanging lower eyelids or any issues that would necessitate such repairs. When I expressed concerns about eye shape, I assured me that he wasn't doing anything to alter it. When I followed up about the ectropion repair, he said that tightening the lower tendon during ptosis repair is a procedure he often performs. When consulting with another oculoplastic surgeon, who had examined me a few months prior, he stated ectropion repair is not a part of standard ptosis surgery and he had not noted my having it during his exam. He also performed festoon elevation. We had a very brief consultation about minor malar bags, which I mentioned could be addressed with my upcoming facelift and neck lift in a few months if that surgeon felt it was needed. Discovering this was done, again without my consent, was deeply upsetting. I sent Dr. Vrcek photos showing how the natural hooding I grew up with was now gone as swelling resolved. The significant amount of skin and fat removed was far more than expected. When I initially consulted with him, I was quoted $2,000 for upper eyelid surgery, with the understanding that it would be a simple skin removal procedure. He initially stated that insurance would not cover both skin removal and ptosis repair, and that we would save a lot or money having the ptosis repair covered. Later, he revised his statement, saying that insurance may not cover both procedures In response to the photos I sent, he replied, "If a patient were to show me a picture of themselves in their 20s, but they're in their 40s or later, I would tell them it's not possible for me to make it look like they did in their 20s." I simply wanted to look like me but refreshed. I didn't expect perfection but did expect to still look like myself, with the integrity of my natural features intact. He also mentioned that it's challenging for surgeons when patients send photos from their younger selves and then compare them to photos taken during the healing process, which are often less flattering due to lighting and swelling. He said, "I don't think any surgeon could successfully pass this test." The photos I sent were not intended to compare images of my youth to my current post-surgery appearance but to show how my eyelids had changed. I had a natural hooding and a small lid platform before the surgery, and now I no longer do. The pain in and around my eyes remains a constant challenge. I am also experiencing trigeminal neuralgia, causing sharp, radiating pain from my scalp down across my eyebrow and upper cheek. I'm still dealing with dry eyes, persistent tightness in my forehead, and discomfort that intensifies during movement. Dr. Vrcek didn't examine me in person before surgery, despite the visit note submitted to insurance stating otherwise. On the morning of my surgery, I was very nervous and made a mistake. When being checked in, I was asked to confirm the procedures I was having, and I listed them exactly as known to me. When reviewing the paperwork, bilateral ectropion repair and bilateral festoon elevation had been added, while fat repositioning and the chemical peel were omitted. I want to make it clear there are patients who are happy with Dr. Vrcek's work, but my experience has been very different. I also want to emphasize that I never expected perfection. I simply wanted to look like myself, only refreshed. Having trouble loading photos and will keep trying. Meanwhile some are posted in my Google review.

Dr. Vrcek was incredible during the process of reducing the hooding of my upper eyelids. The surgery was quick with little pain and recovery was smooth with minimal discomfort. I quickly saw improvement and 3 weeks later I am absolutely thrilled with the results. My eyes look fresh and youthful again. I highly recommend Dr. Vrcek

Forever Grateful to Dr. Vrcek for Giving Me My Confidence Back! I'm so thankful I found Dr. Vrcek. I met with a lot of doctors before deciding, but the moment I spoke with him, I knew he was the one. His knowledge, kindness, and the way he truly cares about his patients made me feel completely confident in choosing him. For years, I didn't feel good about the way I looked. I always felt like I looked tired, and I hated when people constantly asked me what was wrong. I would hide behind sunglasses just to avoid those conversations. That's why I finally decided to go ahead with the surgery. I'll never forget the day of the procedure--it felt like I was getting my confidence and freedom back. I wasn't nervous at all because I knew I was in great hands. Honestly, I enjoyed every step of the process. After the surgery, I felt so lucky and grateful. Dr. Vrcek checked on me every single day, asked how I was doing, and gave me great tips for recovery. I didn't feel like just another patient--he really cared. And to be honest, I didn't even feel any pain. If I ever need to do it again, I would 100% go back to him. Thank you, Dr. Vrcek, for doing what you do and for making such a difference in people's lives. Please take care of those gifted hands--you're amazing.

Following surgery, my husband wore special UV-blocking glasses full-time for several weeks and returned for quick, painless in-office light sessions. These treatments precisely adjusted the lens shape and power to meet his individual vision needs, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Once the desired vision is achieved, a final "lock-in" treatment stabilized the results. The process is done one eye at a time. My husband is experiencing clear vision much sooner than Dr. Warren originally anticipated and is already going in this week to have his second eye done. From start to finish, his experience has been outstanding. Every member of the team was professional, kind, and attentive. Appointments were efficient, well-organized, and we truly felt cared for throughout the entire process. The surgery center itself is state-of-the-art, equipped with the latest technology. See my pics! We are extremely grateful for the exceptional care and would highly recommend this team to anyone considering this type of surgery.

I spoke with several friends who are physicians and multiple of them told me that Dr. Shulkin is the best in his field and who they would go to themselves. Before seeing him, I had done vision therapy and used glasses with prisms. Neither of these solutions fully corrected for the issue. Dr. Shulkin was highly reassuring and said I was a great candidate for surgical correction, which would involve moving a muscle in each eye by about 5 millimeters. He said both eyes would take a combined 15 minutes and that he estimated an 85% chance of perfect outcome on the first surgery, with a small possibility that a follow-up would be needed for minor correction. The procedure itself was very simple, though it requires general anesthesia due to the whole cutting into your eyeball thing. The facility was great, people were friendly, and pre-op and post-op instructions clear. Dr. Shulkin checked in with me several times to be sure things were going well afterwards and noted that the outcome looked fantastic. There was a little soreness which improved markedly within a couple days, and 2 weeks later other than a little redness, there are no visible signs. Most importantly, the results were great. Alignment is perfect, and function is 100% with muscles seemingly in full balance. I had waffled on doing this surgery for years, but am very glad I did. I highly recommend Dr. Shulkin.

Someone arrived five seconds before me (of course her appointment was set for 10 minutes after mine as doctors do, they set appointments back to back and then they can't fulfill those timeslots so you wait forever). The front desk told me that I'd be going after that person, since it wasn't fair to her that I arrived late. But we were both gonna wait in the waiting room for a really long time anyway. It wouldn't have mattered, which is what I tried to communicate. I disagreed with how they handled the situation and chose to reschedule my appointment. They proceeded to tell lies about me to the doctor and send me a letter telling me that I can no longer be a patient there. I've always thought the staff had way too much authority in this office, this confirms it. They were definitely on a power trip! Please stay away from this place.

First, they hadn't even see me, have no idea what is actually wrong if anything but are already piling up the charges with "what I'm going to need." A little fishy to me. Moreover, the BCBS EOB often shows I owe less than what doctors bill, so I asked if I could pay the majority of my bill but leave a little back pending the EOB. Absolutely not. Pay now is only option or we won't see you. I get money is important but when 90% of the 'new patient' conversation focuses only on that, that is very telling of what kind of office it is. Such a turnoff. So I cancelled my appt. That was met with a smug response that projected complete apathy on their part. On a side note, looking at their combative responses from other low reviews. It pretty much confirms my decision to cancel. UPDATE 5/28/2024: Their original response was something like 'Have a great day.' As expected they couldn't help themselves and deleted that with yet another combative response to their growing negative reviews. As before they take no responsibility for anything and hammer away at excuse after excuse. They show no record of my call because I use a pseudonym for fear of retaliation.

The staff is equally as friendly and welcoming. Her new practice is inside the medical building next to the old Richardson hospital located on Campbell Rd near Collins Rd. Address is 399 W. Very soothing, with pops of orange color in the artwork and accents. We both are thrilled with results of our Pan Optic cataract lenses. We also both required a follow up procedure due to the uniqueness of our eyes. I needed a Yag procedure a few years ago and hubby needed his lenses polished post cataract. She even explained that the surface of his eye was similar to a raisin and needed to be polished to smooth it out. Now that's down to earth language that we can understand! We are so happy with Dr. Chu and you will be too!
