The rooms are all spacious and clean with microwave and fridge, and big comfortable beds. My son's favorite part is of course the pool with its many toys and floats and the fact that the deep end is 8 feet deep. They also have a picnic area under the trees where you can use a gas grill, charcoal grill or fire pit. We cooked dinner on the charcoal grill when I was last here and ate at the picnic table under the strung up lights. The owner is a very lovely human being - kind and warm and friendly through and through. And there is a friendly dog too! Such a nice change of pace from so many other motels where check in and check out are completely contactless. Already looking forward to our next stay in the next year or two!

You either purchase from their "bar" in the lobby, or from the mini bar in the room. Neither of us are drinkers so it didn't affect us, but they charged us for a bottle of wine that we didn't take! If you want to stay there, check your charges when you get home.

Had a great conversation with the manager on the phone to book our stay. The motel is in a great location at the top of a peak along the Mohawk Trail. Really quiet and peaceful. Cool, even in the summer without the need for A/C. Huge lawn out front great for playing or a picnic or stargazing. Loved the dark sky away from urban centers. We brought a telescope along with us and I was able to show my kids a close up view of the moon and Jupiter through the clean and dry mountaintop air. The rooms were clean and the furniture was practically new. The pillows and beds were soft and comfy. My family loved the breakfast pastry spread: donuts, coffee, bagels, muffins, etc. Check-in / check-out was effortless. Nothing to complain about!

We were treated unfairly and that is not right, especially when a customer is paying $200.00++ for a room for less than 20 hours. Shame on the Hampton Inn, Greenfield..., shame on their customers service and management for thinking this is ok. It was a total waste of money,. We were looking forward to the pool. Don't tell a customer they are not accurate, when you where not even there. Pepper my dog was so tiered of driving she wanted to live here! The area had great hiking and the cottage was always a warm cosy home base. Morning scones were fantastic, and never went to waste. Cavalier Cottage offers pet friendly lodging which we took advantage of with our two pugs. I figured we were only going there to pick up the cart, however we spent the day checking out all the little shops around town and ate in the West End Pub. Patricia offers a clean room with a full kitchen. She is very friendly and kind offering us whatever we needed. I would definitely recommend the Cavalier Cottage. We will be staying there the next time we're in Shelburne Falls.
