Hawk Mountain Lodge - The Millers Room

Location, location, location…read more.. That is about all this place had going for it. Located right between Zoar Outdoor rafting and zip lining it was super convenient to stay here for 1 night. Sadly, this place was a bit pricey for what you were getting. There is no breakfast included it is strictly lodging. There is tea and coffee though in the main living room. There is also a mini fridge and microwave should you choose to bring anything small. There are three bedrooms located downstairs I assume with their own bathrooms, though I am unsure because there is a bathroom downstairs that has two doors - one is accessible through the bedroom and one through the living room. There are three additional bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom to share. We stayed in the Millers room upstairs which had a queen bed with a small love-seat and a cot in the closet. There were fans and towels in the room. There were not much window coverings so the morning light would surely wake you up. The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were quite flat. Obviously, this place is a bit old and feels like your grandmother's house most likely. Wallpaper, flowery decor etc. I just can't give this place more stars because it only has the convenience going for it. There were some bugs and the wallpaper was peeling. It didn't feel the cleanest, but I know the linens were at least washed. The manager was very friendly as well. Overall this place felt more like $60 and not $90. I'm not sure if I would stay here again. If you're going to stay here, there's no traditional check in. At the side entrance on the porch there is a sign with your name and the room you're staying in. You let yourself in the house and find your room. All the doors are clearly labeled with their name. The key to lock your door is already in the door knob. ****CAUTION: make sure your key locks and unlocks your door before you shut it! We locked and closed our door taking our key out, but when we returned our key wouldn't unlock the door. Even though it fit in the keyhole, it wouldn't turn and unlock it. We were able to get in touch with the manager via a walkie-talkie hanging on a billboard in front of the Zoar retail shop. He helped us obtain the correct key. Breakfast: We drove about 15 minutes to Shelburne Falls and ate at Foxtown Diner. It is a bit overpriced, but it was really good and worth the drive. The town is also cute and makes for a nice walk.

It was a really cool place that obviously holds a lot of history, and learning a little more about Charlemont made us appreciate the lodge even more. We went out and sat by the outdoor firepit, hiked nearby trails, and had a great view of the nearby mountain from our room (Millers). It was also a great location, easy to drive to nearby towns and restaurants. Thanks to Zoar and the Mountain Lodge staff for a great, relaxing, and memorable weekend.

The rooms are very very clean, along with very clean sheets and towels!! They have everything you need in them as well. They allowed me to check in at 6am for my stay verses having me check in at 6am and check out at 11am. It's up on a hill away from the traffic, so it's very quiet. You're not going to find any rif raf here at this motel from drug addicts and loud disrespectful people. You're gonna find Travelors, families, and people just rolling through for a good nights rest here. The refrigerators are really spacious as well!! The beds are super comfy for a good nights rest. Although the bathrooms for a single person are really small, there's still room in there to move around. Most of the items are up to date except for a couple of things that could be upgraded. Plus the heat works well and keeps the room nice and toasty. Everywhere has some cons: So I would recommend replacing the grip tape in the shower for protection of people like myself who are a fall risk. Also New England is starting to drop down at night but still gets hot during the day, so I would recommend fixing the window unit. I would recommend getting locked trash cans for outside, since we are in the woods and there are bears. Otherwise it's a really lovely homey space and I would definitely come back here!! I give it four and a half stars but you cant do half on yelp!

Actually, early Saturday morning since it was well past midnight. Very comfortable and cozy, though a bunch of noisy people right outside my window prevented me from sleeping in very long! But that's no fault of management, of course. My friend from college had some other guests at the home he shares with his wife a few minutes away, so there's $160 with tax I'll never see again. But the hotel in No. Adams I had stopped in at and inquired about rates an hour and a half earlier was out of control at $210 that night. Clerk at that hotel gave me another for another hotel in No. Adams, and it was even worse at $350. So Giovanni's was welcome find indeed, and the gentleman I awoke (occupational hazard, right?) was a paisan originally from Brooklyn, like all my late father's peeps! Fuhgeddaboudit! I had started by little five-day busman's holiday in Great Barrington in the Berkshires, and it turns out there are tons of ex-patriate Brooklynites who seem to have had enough of urban agita in NYC and sought refuge in rural Massachusetts. And I have to say I don't blame them a bit, though I will love New York until my last breath.

Our room was cozy and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. We didn't take advantage of the heated outdoor pool and sauna but were delighted to discover a blues concert happening in Studio9 on the property. Looking forward to returning soon.

I have wanted to visit this inn since it opened. I remember reading all about it…read more It was fine. I feel it was expensive for what it offered. The breakfast that was included in it, though repetitive was fabulous and thoughtful. Bagels, cream cheese, lox, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, fresh juices, coffees and teas. We had 2 breakfasts and took the same things. Bagels, lox and cream cheese, OJ, coffee, eggs. There are a couple. of baked goods that were very disappointing. They should upgrade those definitely. The rooms were fine. We were automatically upgraded to a suite because we paid in advance and went mid-week. The bathroom was lovely, nothing to change. The hallways and rooms were a bit dated. Fresh paint, cool colors, but old. The room AC units were loud too. Was ok but wouldn't return. In the hallways there is great unusual art. Like what you would put into your own home which is cool and unusual. The colors they chose to decorate with were wonderful. But, for example, we had a painted old wooden floor with throw rugs. A bit uneven. Not something I'd ever put into our home. The grounds were very nice. It was nice weather when we were there, and we brought bathing suits but the pool was covered with leaves. They are expanding which is cool. Mass Moca is right there which is nice, and this was very centrally located which is also nice.
