I am VERY late in posting this review and I apologize to Melissa for just getting around to it!! My husband and I had a very small beach wedding last summer (July 2016). I hadn't given much thought to flowers or a bouquet so I reached out to Hawes Florist in Maynard for some help. I was very lucky to work with Melissa, who helped me put a last minute thought into a very pretty bouquet. She offered suggestions and even sent me a photo by text of what she came up with based on my description over the phone. She got it RIGHT ON!! I don't live in the area, so looking for a florist was a bit of a shot in the dark but boy, did I luck out! Melissa was great to deal with and totally understood what kind of arrangement I was looking for. She was friendly, had a good sense of humor and understood what I was conveying for the arrangement. She also promptly sent me pics of the arrangement before it went out for delivery (LOVE when florists do that!). I had ordered flowers from another source, they called me the next morning to tell me their refrigerators went down. I found Hawes Florist and they were able to deliver that day. Not only did they have the White Lilies,but were able to add beautiful floral to inhance the arrangement. The Lady assisting was knowledgeable, took time to ask exactly what my vision was. I had ordered some flowers for my 4 year old granddaughter from Hawes Florist. I ordered over the phone and was very pleasantly surprised with the many options I had. The owner was kind enough to send me a photo of the bouquet prior to delivery. It looked wonderful and exactly what I wanted. I needed something extra special for my family member who had just had surgery and she went above and beyond with putting together the most beautiful arrangement! Wonderful experience with this family business! The woman I spoked with was very nice & worked patiently with me to make just the right arrangement (I'm not good at masking decision...) to send to a sick friend to lift her spirits. She even delivered it the next day, herself! Very reasonable delivery fee as well for a next-day delivery. And my friend was so enthusiastic about how lovely the flowers were. I gave a last minute call on a Saturday to order flowers for my aunt as I had forgotten to do it earlier and her birthday was that day. I spoke with a woman, Lee, who couldn't of been more accommodating and even though they had already done their last delivery for the day they went out of their way to help and the owner herself ended up delivering the flowers. I called Hawes early afternoon on Christmas Eve keeping my fingers crossed that they would be able to get a last minute arrangement out to my girlfriend for Christmas. I have a dear friend who lives in Acton. I have been sending her flowers always using Hawes florist for the past several years. I am a bit of a pain when it comes to detail on what I like, and Melissa always makes it very special. If she doesn't have something, she will even go to the flower mart to purchase it. Melissa is a wonderful person! She shared the history of her family in the military. She was able to work with our budget so that we could have centerpieces for our event. This florist saved the day! I live in MD, but I needed to have flowers delivered In Massachusetts. I tried the big on-line florist companies, but they kept telling me delivery was not available in that part of MA I really wanted to make sure there were orange roses in the bouquet, and they texted me a photo to show me what they delivered! Great local business. A friend recently sent my wife a bouquet of flowers after she had surgery. We were not home when Hawes first tried to deliver the flowers but they came back the next day and refused to accept any money for the special deliver.
