Zero stars We used to LOVE this place. We were members for over 10 years and stuck with them even during COVID because we believed in the business. Something has clearly changed. Since January 2026, it's been nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone: * No one answers the phone * Voicemails go nowhere * No appointments available * Website showed "permanently closed" at one point But somehow... they kept charging my husband's card every month. After multiple attempts to contact them, we had to go through our credit card company just to stop being billed. Instead of helping, we received messages about canceling my account unless we resumed payments. We also have about $1,000 in unused credits with no communication on how that will be handled. It's honestly sad because this used to be such a great place. If you're a member, definitely review your statements. What I got in return is one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Since January 2026: * They stopped answering their phones entirely * Voicemails are never returned * Appointments are not available * Their own website said they were "permanently closed" Yet they CONTINUED charging my credit card every month. I called 6-10+ times with zero response. No communication. No explanation. Nothing. I finally had to block charges through my credit card company because they were billing me for services they clearly were not providing. Now, instead of fixing the issue or issuing refunds, they are sending threatening messages about canceling my account unless I resume payments. That is completely backwards and frankly unacceptable. I also have nearly $1,000 in unused credits that they have made no effort to honor or refund. Their explanation blaming landlords, payment processors, or other third parties does not excuse continuing to charge customers while being unreachable and effectively shut down. This is not just poor service--it feels deceptive. If you are a current member: CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS IMMEDIATELY. If you are considering joining: DO NOT. First time experience and it will be my only experience unfortunately. The reviews about the tip shaming is say are accurate for sure. I personally wasn't asked how much I wanted to tip but it was said that tol $35 was customary which is the highest I've ever heard of and I was expecting to be able to tip what we feel is appropriate. I was floored. My total with a $100 gift certificate applied was crazy expensive. I can't believe people actually pay the high prices normally. I feel for the massage therapists and they seem like nice hard working people. I just completely disagree with the tip shaming. The massage itself was decent but nowhere near what I needed or have received other places and the lotion was cold each time it hit my skin. But of course "feeling bad" is the overwhelming feeling in these cases. But the therapist should know if they're pulling on your hair (for example) and the uneven face pillow kinked my neck and left me with more pain than I went in with. Being in a couples room doesn't leave room or the ability to speak up either so you feel like you just need to deal with it. While our men-folk played a round a golf, we headed to the spa. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hawaiian Experience Spa. I called a couple of days in advance and booked two appointments. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and shown around. Upon putting on a cozy robe and slippers, we filled out the paperwork in their sunny, warm meditating room. Soft Hawaiian music played in the background. We were brought back to our rooms and had a short consultation with our masseuse about health concerns and treatment preferences. I was assisted by Cameron and he was wonderful. Very experienced and knowledgeable about the power of massage and reflexology. Upon completion, Cameron made sure I was hydrated and we talked through some post massage best practices. They have two nice shower bays which was great because after a massage it feels so good to rinse off the oil and bask in the warmth of a hot shower. Hairdryer available upon request. I am sad I have to write this review. I was a member, and at first, under the old owners, it was an amazing experience. One of the front desk people told me it had changed to their son or something like that. They had, in my opinion, some of the best massage therapists, but when ownership changed, everything changed! First, I noticed they started losing massage therapists often. I asked a couple of them and they stated "they no longer treated them well and it wasn't worth working here". Then, they changed the membership fees, which ended up costing members more money. I used to sing their praises to everyone I know and drove them a lot of new customers. Unfortunately, I started hearing from friends and family that their experience changed and was similar to mine. As a member, you earn credits each month. I travel a lot for work, and so I had several credits that I was never going to get to use, so I sent my wife to get a message and facial and told her to use up all my credits. She said the facial was the worst she had ever had; they missed several standard steps. She also was not impressed with the massage at all. She didn't want to go back, and I ended up walking away from my credits. Lastly, I purchased gift certificates from them, and before they expired, I tried to book appointments to use them. They told me they had nothing available but gave me the owner's email and said they would take care of me. They also said to call back if I had not heard from the owner in a few days. I called back because, of course, I didn't hear from the owner. They told me they talked to the owner and explained the situation, and the owner basically didn't care. They were not going to honor the gift certificates. They just don't care about their clients. They got their money. They used to have 3 locations and are now down to two. This place has gotten so bad I literally laughed several times today during my massage. Actually, I wouldn't call it a "massage" since about 5 minutes was actual massaging/rubbing, and the other 55 minutes were either talking or poking and pushing on random spots on my body. It felt more like a chiropractor's appointment than a massage. Too bad my insurance couldn't have just covered the cost in that case!!! It would've saved me a couple Benjamin's!! On the positive side, at least it went nearly an hour. The last several massages I've gotten there have been 10-20 minutes less than the actual massage time. My mom keeps asking me why I repeatedly go back, but I have faith that somewhere there is a good masseuse. Especially for the amount of money I spend! I'm still holding out hope, but my faith is waning. I should actually bump this review up to a 2 since it's the first time there was a towel in the shower area and no bandaids or hair in the shower to dodge. I'll try it again in a month or so when school is out and see if it has improved any. Pre-Covid this place was a solid 4. I'm hoping they can work there way back up there. I absolutely love the Hawaiian Experience Spa. Their staff is always very professional, and they do wonders for your muscles. They do offer memberships which can potentially save you some money while also supporting the business longer term. I did the Hot Stone massage and it was amazing, the stones weren't scalding but warm enough to help release tension. I had Krystle and she was knowledgeable, professional, just a rockstar. The spa is Hawaiian inspired (of course!) and is beautifully done, they have a great facility and ambience going. The showers are something to behold! read more

Writing with extreme disappointment after being members for over 10 years. They are sneaky in their memberships and their online "buy one get one free" sales are a gimmick! If you have a membership ONE goes into your account and the "FREE" ghosts into your email as Junk! I used to stock up during these sales as we enjoyed the massages, however would ask countless times where our free ones or services were and would constantly tell them we didn't use the services. No one said check emails as only one goes in your account! We had 8 unused massages that we never got to use. After one nice front office lady said have you ever checked your email. We found out they were 8 days expired. I have emailed with owners and explained how we have been members referred countless members of our families and even tons of other baseball families. We had a wonderful experience here for our anniversary gift to ourselves. Holly and Ariel gave my husband and I one of the best massages we've ever had. Loved the touch of robes and slippers, the shower with luxurious shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and our favorite part was the frozen coconut and lemon sorbet at the end. Let me start by saying I am a fan of the Hawaiian Spa in Goodyear. My first experience at the Scottsdale location was unfulfilling. However, I returned after being contacted by management and my second experience was more pleasant. My therapist Didi was great. I was very pleased with her attention to detail in working on the areas we discussed and she was very knowledgeable in our follow up. So thanks Didi! I used to love going to this location in north Scottsdale. My last 3 visits have been disappointing. I have canceled my membership.

I'll lead off with a "Buyer Beware" for anyone considering or already engaged in the membership program. If and when you cancel, you will forfeit any unused services in your account after only 30 days. I was allowed to cancel via email, which I had also done in the past before rejoining. There was no mention of this policy, and it was not in fact the policy during my previous membership pause. I had massages scheduled for my spouse and me, with a plan to use up my remaining credits. I had a sudden medical emergency that sent me to the ER the night prior, and I called to cancel before the spa opened and at the earliest possible opportunity. I was both charged the full service fee $365+ and informed through various emails with a Jodi Ross that she didn't know what "credits" I thought I had to use. So long story short, if you have an emergency; Hawaiian Experience Spa does not care. I guess they would prefer you come in sick, than cancel??? Then to add insult to injury I was informed I had lost hundreds more dollars because I had failed to use my pre-paid services within 30 days, although Jodi Ross acknowledged I had not been informed properly. After much back and forth in emails, whomever Jodi Ross is, closed out her failed correspondence with, "Aloha Carole, I'm sorry to hear that you won't be returning but it definitely sounds like this is not the right fit for you." Well Jodi Ross, you are absolutely correct, businesses that take advantage of their customers by collecting money for services they refuse to deliver on, and then also charging you a cancellation fee when you have a verifiable emergency are not where I chose to spend my money. read more

This was just an average massage at best. There was absolutely nothing special (unless you count the small Easter chocolate well after Easter). I would have been livid had I paid full price. They bath you in coconut oil, to which a shower is necessary to not skate out of the place. My masseuse spent at least 1/3 of the time wiping excess oil off me and "stretching/pushing" me. BEWARE a 20% tip is mandatory according to the receptionist. It's not my fault you don't pay your therapists well enough, I should be allowed to tip as I see fit for the level of massage I received. read more

So just had the most shockingly uncomfortable experience with a massage that I've ever had. I have previously frequented the location in Goodyear and sell returning to town for another three or project, I was elated to discover a location in Scottsdale near to my new home. I probably booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage, calling ahead to make certain that I selected the appropriate massage selection to account for that expectation. I also noted in the notes when I booked it that I was requesting a deep tissue massage. I arrived and sat in the sauna, then joined the therapist in the room and additionally explained that I was looking for a deep tissue massage. I had moved over the last four days and was knotted up and bound up from it and really needed all of that broken free. The massage begin with not much pressure at all and I kindly and passively commented that "feel free to dig deeper." For just a moment it felt like some increased pressure, but then I could feel her hands shaking indicating that she was at the limit of her strength, I was experiencing nothing more than a typical Swedish massage. I again politely and kindly commented that she should feel free to exert deep pressure and I was hoping to really get the knots worked out of my back. She acknowledged this and yet nothing changed. I spent at least another 10 minutes contemplating the horror of interrupting a Massuse and disallowing the completion of the session, Versus simply trying to relax then paying and leaving. I came to terms with the fact that there was no way I could justify $180 to be rubbed down with oil. I finally got up the gums she to lift my head very politely and sweetly said that I felt she had an absolutely loving touch and I much appreciated her warmth and approach, but that I had solicited a deep tissue massage and it was obvious that we didn't have the same understanding of my expectations. I ended the session clean myself up and went to the front desk. Where I was notified that they would be happy to reduce my 90 minute charge to a 60 minute massage. Perplexed I asked why I needed to pay for an hour massage when I was in the room for less than 25 minutes. The response was "well that's the shortest duration massage we have so I have to charge you that" ?!?!?!?! Wow!!! I voiced my frustration with why I would be charged $114 for 20 minutes of being rubbed down with oil, compound by the fact that I had to suffer the embarrassment and discomfort of stopping someone from doing what they do for a living because it wasn't adequate. The lady again told me "there was nothing she could do". If that weren't enough, I politely asked if she would then cancel my wife's massage scheduled for tomorrow and she said that it wasn't going to be the same masseuse so would I not just leave the appointment in place. I had to explain to her that if the policy is that you market a specific type of massage, and then when you don't deliver the massage, and your client stops the session well before you're even at the halfway point, but you still charge them for a massage they didn't get; and moreover charge me for a duration of massage that never transpired, why on earth would I gamble hundreds of dollars to find out if they actually know how to do what they claim they can do?!?! She canceled my wife's massage. Here's the icing on the cake - she then asked me if I wanted to leave gratuity?!?! You just screwed me out of $114 for nothing and then you want me to tip you for that?! It's been a long time since I left a negative review, and I don't actually believe in doing it. But their website has zero contact data for any type of corporate office or senior management, only ability to book appointments at specific locations. So I'm left with no alternative but to post to the general public to avoid this place 4/9/2022-having seen my posted review, their corporate office reached out to me. They were kind of concerned and indicated that both Massuse and the manager were new to the company. It was suggested that I should try a different masseuse specifically - Josh, and that they would comp the 60 minute massage. They further agreed to refund the previous charge for the massage that I did not receive. This alternate Massuse was able to administer a deep tissue massage as expected. So I think we're just left with the two obvious issues. One they really need to post corporate contact data especially if they are staffing their locations with green people. And two, provide a list on the front door and the website of who is experienced and inexperienced by name. Instead of suggesting that everyone is equally skilled. The bottom line is, they took care of the issue and they should be applauded for that read more

After a 2300 mile solo move to Phoenix I really needed to get the kinks worked out. Michael's variety of techniques during a deep tissue was just the thing to ease my aching back, and shoulders, and legs and... This was the first spa I have been to that provided slippers and a robe. After, when Michael told me I could take a half hour or more in the multiple-jet shower, I almost did! Private locker, chocolate, interview of needs before treatment, unhurried massage and a comfortable room were special features. Overall, the staff is friendly and welcoming. I'm curious about the Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi and plan on experiencing that style of massage for my next visit. read more

Expensive and tip shaming I have 5 years of working in a spa. My husband and I regularly get couples massages at spas. I have been a massage therapist for 12 years so we both have a lot of massage receiving experience. He asked me what I wanted to do for a staycation and since I heard a good review from my sister, I chose this spa. We live 30 minutes away from the spa but we had to take a detour through fountain hills because of an accident on the 101. We called at 3, when our appointment was supposed to start. When we arrived at 3:15 we were taken back and given paperwork to fill out. The massage itself was wonderful. My therapist did hot stones on me. We got a 2 hour. The shower was very disappointing, it was over-hyped for sure. I had high expectations for this spa and was disappointed by it. The shower felt dirty and I wanted to quickly wash off because of how public it was. I liked that they had eminence products and they gave us a frozen treat after. What really knocked down my opinion of the spa though was our interaction with the receptionist at checkout. She told my husband the total and said, "That doesnt include gratuity. It is usually 25 an hour per therapist." My husband said, "that's not typical, 25? Really?" His question was, is 25% gratuity usual? But she didn't understand him. With attitude she replied, "we like to pay our therapists well for what they do. So yeah, 25 an hour is normal." He said okay well can we do 20? She ran it for $20 total for 2 hours. So that means each therapist got a $10 tip per hour. There were a couple of things she should have done differently. When my husband asked about paying less than the recommended gratuity, she should have asked if he was happy with everything. He wasn't sure how much gratuity he even paid because we rushed out after she gave us attitude. She shouldn't have worded it like the tip is required for $25/ hour per therapist. We have a lot of experience with spas and this really turned us off. She should have dropped her prejudice of us for running late and been warmer with our interactions. I assume this place does a lot of couples massages? The staff really need training on how to interact with couples because our therapists were unsure of how to give us directions, ask us questions, etc. Your receptionist really dropped the ball here and we will definitely not be returning. I also want to point out that if they actually did "like to pay their therapists well" then they wouldn't shame their clients into paying cash on top of their wage. She would have been more accurate to say "we believe our therapist deserve high gratuity." And without her attitude, the therapists might have been better tipped. read more
