Lilo and stitch themed plane
Lisa S.

I'm a loyal United chick through and through, but I broke my own rules and booked a flight from Seattle to Tokyo on Hawaiian Airlines--and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish, the service was fantastic. The crew was genuinely warm and attentive, and the food was far better than I expected (yes, airline food that's actually good!). I sat in the Extra Comfort section--right behind first class--and the extra legroom made a huge difference on such a long flight. The whole experience felt relaxed, friendly, and refreshingly different from the usual big airline vibe. Hawaiian Airlines just might have earned a spot in my regular rotation.

Thanks for letting us on this flight!!!

Flying home for dinner with Mom on Mother's Day! I was stuck in Seattle Airport and the Alaska Airlines agent suggested that I call Hawaiian Airlines to get the next flight which would be leaving in an hour... I called, but the clerk was going to charge me full fare for a new flight. I asked to speak to her manager. At first, he was going to charge me the difference between what I paid and the current rate. I guess I will have to do whatever... that's what i thought... Then, he said that there will be no additional charge... Yippee!!! I didn't have a boarding pass. The email didn't give me a gate number. The app didn't have my new flight on it. I checked the Departure Board... Gate S.... OMG... I was at Gate N. I caught 2 different underground trams to get to the S gates... Whew! I made it just in time before the doors closed. The agent said that i didn't check in... I told her I didn't even see the new flight on my app. She gave me a paper boarding pass. I scanned it and entered the plane! Yay! Thank goodness for the free inflight entertainment (I watched some movies) and food! We got a complimentary hot sandwich and a can of Hawaiian Sun juice. Later, we got a free cookie from the Honolulu Cookie Company.. yum! I also bought a snack box (I was starving) with my $10 inflight credit from my Hawaiian Airlines credit card! Delicious! I'm so happy to fly home on my favorite airline with staff who have the Aloha Spirit! I made it home for dinner with my mom on Mother's Day... thanks to Hawaiian Airlines! I appreciate the window seat and empty seat next to me!

This airline is usually a lot better than it was today. We are flying back to SNA and the flight is PACKED and LATE. The gate area is smelly and crowded and hot due to no air conditioning. Other than that, I'll try to fly safe!

Very chill Airlines. Haven't got nagged not once for organizing myself and family. The Staff are very accommodating!

Extra comfort seating was nice and it reclined back further than most

CONFLICTED ON THIS ONE!!! Full disclosure here, I fly Alaska Airlines whenever possible and am MVP GOLD 75k with them. Was excited when Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines joined forces recently and decided to go Hawaiian Airlines on my last trip to Hawaii. Here is my comparison of the two airlines. POSITIVE - 1 - planes with Hawaiian are more spacious and comfortable. Sat in the "extra comfort" section of the plane and had more legroom and seats reclined more. 2 - Hawaiian terminal in Honolulu is MUCH NICER, new and modern, than the one Alaska gets to use. 3 - In Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines we didn't have to run our bags through the "fruit check" scanners. We just dropped them off and I assume they do that. 4 - internet on their planes is FREE and also WAY BETTER than Alaska has. 5 - They feed you in coach! Got a breakfast sandwich with a drink. NEGATIVE - 1- Checking bags in Seattle is a MAJOR PROBLEM. Long lines and Seattle staff is NOT organized at all. I couldn't find a self check place to print my own bag tags (it was not well marked and easy to miss). The lines move super slow. 2 - I went online and LINKED my Alaska elite status to Hawaiian Airlines and was given PLATINUM status (their highest tier) but because I booked my flight to receive Alaska Airlines miles, they DID NOT recognize my platinum status and I WAS NOT on any first class upgrade wait lists!!! I asked the airport counter worker and was told you only get on the waitlist for upgrades if you book under Hawaiian Airlines Platinum status and I would not get Alaska miles!!!! That is crazy! Sure hope they fix this because I should be able to use my elite status. I get upgraded to first class about half the time when I travel so this is a big deal. 3 - Almost a 6 hour flight and they only do one drink run (they walk by offering water only a couple other times). They also do not do free alcohol on the "extra comfort" section like Alaska does. They do offer a their punch with alcohol drink for free if you want that.

I'm riding the Polynesian Express to Maui today. I checked into my 1st Class seat and cut the line of people waiting to hand over there luggage and it felt great! The ladies made sure I felt special taking my luggage and handling my tickets. Funny how the line that says FIRST CLASS gets you special attention, needless to stay I LIVEV. Once I got to the plane I was escorted to the left which is the area for people like FRANK wanting to enjoy a spacious ride vs cramped up like a sardine next to a bunch of screaming kids in coach. No thanks! Now I'm greeted with my pre-flight signature cocktail aka the Mai Tai, cheers ! Now that the plane has achieved maximum speed to hit the sky and we've climbed above 10,000 ft it's time for phase 2! Feeling good so far! Now it's time to rumba and because Cocktail time starts and then meal time. Franks First Coarse starter is a Fresh Fruit bowl with warm croissant accompanied by butter & jam followed by Second coarse of a Ground Pork Hash Patty with hoisin sriracha sauce. Caged Free Scrambled eggs and roasted shiitake mushrooms, onions and potatoes accompany it. And for the Desert Coarse it's coffee crunch cake! As the flight continues I'm served more tasty beverages and I take some time to recline my seat back to the bed position and take a snooze. After 5.5 hours of relaxation I've now landed in Maui and it's time to start tanning at the beach. Franks now leaving his flight but says it's awesome flying Hawaiian Airlines 1st Class service to Maui! Alohaaaaa

This morning I went to check in my bag and the supervisor (not behind the counter & not wearing a blue uniform) was so friendly and helpful! She even stamped my boarding pass with a Premium TSA stamp! I got to bypass the long lines

Loved flying with Hawaiian. Super friendly customer service. Food was good. Lay down seats were comfortable and made the flight comfortable

It looked and tasted exactly the way you think it would, hot and okay.

All the workers seem to be stressed out, stuck up and acting real rude to us. The customers go to another airline if you can.

Better problem-solving, when a gate is not open upon arrival. Arriving and then waiting on the on the ground for over an hour is ridiculous.

Row 16 in the extra comfort seats? I'm curious on if we are sitting above the wing or not. It showed when I picked my seats on the Hawaiian Airlines site it was. But checking on SeatGuru it shows we're not above the wing at all.

Aloha! If you are on the SEA-Hawaii. It is usually the Airbus 330-200. Row 16 is located right when the forward part of the wing connects to the aircraft. Extra-comfort is definitely worth it! Extra 6 inches of knee room.

Unfortunately, I experienced the worst service by the first class steward today on 09/23/26 (Flight AS 410). As I entered the plane's cabin, there was no welcome or greeting. I was told, not asked, to put my hand-carry and purse in the storage above my seat. It was very small and I had difficulty placing the bags in the bin. No assistance was offered by the steward. It was obvious I was struggling with the bags. Without going into too much detail, it was also clear that I had a handicap at this time. I was told, again, not asked, to make sure I could not have anything with me. And to take a seat. I felt extremely uncomfortable and rushed. The female steward was outright rude and condescending towards me. To make matters worse, the first class seat appeared not to recline more than 2 inches and the treatment and service I received during the flight was not representative of any ticket price, first or coach. In order to watch a movie, I had to use my cellphone and earbuds. No screen or iPad was provided here. Not much service of any kind was provided here in first class. I have received and experienced far greater service with other airlines in coach and comfort seats. The restroom is narrow and small as well. During the entire flight, it appeared that the flight steward had an issue with me and my flight companion. My worst experience so far on an airlines. Shame on you Alaska Airlines, please do better.

What I really struggled with was the horribly cramped seating; It's been a long time since I felt that restricted on any airline with such a small amount of "personal space". I was looking to connect to the in-flight WiFi and use my laptop to get some work done throughout the flight. I lowered the tray table and sat my laptop there, but had absolutely no room to move, and I had to apologize to the passenger on my right (I was in an end seat) as I brushed him with my elbow a few times when trying to reach certain keys. Also, each time the person in the seat in front of me would lean back, the screen of my laptop would get crunched between the tray table and the upper part of the seat. Luckily the WiFi was adequately fast and I was able to get a lot of work done during that 5 hours in the air, but I did so while feeling really restricted. I realize carriers have been moving seat rows closer together so they can fit more in and thus make more revenue, but this Delta flight was ridiculous. Had I been taller or had a wider arm span, I'd have really struggled.

Overall, Qatar Airways was an awesome business class experience, especially with the QSuites. Had an opportunity to fly Qatar Airways for a work trip to Morocco and oiiii.... Everything was just perfect. Check In Process: Very smooth from Seattle to Doha and vice versa. Do note that if you fly with a partnering airline (in this case, mine was Royal Air Maroc from Casablanca to Doha), check in process may vary. Service: Very attentive and friendly staff! Made me feel very welcomed and comfortable Food: Ahh! The four course meals were epic! Everything was so so delicious and the menus itself had so many options to pick from Seating: I had Seat 8 (rear facing) and honestly, can't really tell the difference once flying in the air. The privacy door was chef's kiss and it just felt amazing to have your own space. Seat itself was very comfortable. One thing I would recommend bringing if you want to work on the plane is a HDMI cord! You can hook your laptop to the bigger screen :) Bathroom: Very spacious and always so clean! Definitely made it a pleasant experience to change into pajamas without worrying about the "wet" floor. Comparing this experience to the one Emirates business class flight I took in the past, I would say Qatar Airways definitely won with the food and service. If you want the Qsuite experience, make sure to check the plane model and cross check with seat guru and such! Definitely worth the splurge and experience :)

Take our recent quick 2-day trip from LAS to SEA. Roundtrip tickets were barely over $100 per person round trip. Holy crap! Say what you want, but that is a real good price! Bag fees are tricky for me. If I have a short trip I don't need to pack a lot. No matter what you do, you do get a free personal item. That is really calling it too tight for comfort, IMO. So, for this last trip I did an upgrade on their website for $35 per way, per person ($140.00 total). My extra $140 got us assigned seating to sit next to my partner for both flights near the front of the plane for both legs. It also got both of us a free carry-on item each, both ways in addition to our personal item. More than enough for a 2-day trip! Considering the fact that, if you checked in a bag at the airport day of, it could cost you $65 per bag, per leg that feels like a great deal! I mean, even with the extra money my total ticket price is still under $200 each round trip. I can totally live with that! The airline is known for offering flights to the most destinations around the world. I flew on Turkish a few years ago from Seattle to Thessaloniki via Istanbul during spring break. For the most part, it was a good experience. The pluses are mostly with the in-flight experience. They use Dreamliner planes and serve tasty meals on all flights, including my short haul flights to and from Greece. The IFE system has extensive entertainment and they give all passengers an amenity bag on long haul flights. Lastly, the baggage allowance is generous as you can check in 2 bags. I do also want to bring up some items to consider booking on Turkish. My flight to Istanbul was nearly a hour late, but I still made my connection. Try not to book flights with short layovers. Also some of the connections have long layovers to destinations in the Middle East and Central Asia with flights arriving at odd hours. You may want to consider doing a stopover in Istanbul instead, which Turkish has a good program for. Lastly, gate security in Istanbul is extensive. So expect a thorough check of your carryon items before your flight. Overall, I enjoyed flying on Turkish. It is a well run airline with good fares to Europe and a great in-flight experience.
