Our kid loves cars so we brought her to Hawai'i Cat Cafe for her birthday and she absolutely loved it! We looked at reviews and saw great things. We easily reserved spots online but they also accept walk ins. We arrived and checked in. They give you a buzzer to let you know when your time is up. The nice thing is the timer doesn't start until you enter the car area. So the time waiting for your drinks doesn't count. We ordered our drinks and those were actually really yummy. Then we entered the car room. There were so many cats, all with different ages and personalities. Overall they were all really friendly and loved playing and being petted. Some let us hold them and cuddle. The hour went by so fast! We definitely loved the experience and highly recommend it. We love that all the cats are adoptable too. One thing to note is packing is either on the street or in one of the few spots behind the building.

LOVED!!! You can pay for either a 30 minute session or 1 hour session with the babies. The time went by so fast because we loved every minute of it. You can reserve ahead of time but they also accept walk ins which is what we did. 10 people at a time are allowed. You can order drinks which are delicious and take them in with you, just watch them to make sure the cats don't drink from them; some of them love straws. You need to hand sanitize of course and read some rules before entering but nothing too crazy! I ordered the iced calico latte and it was SOOO GOOD! It's so peaceful being there with the cats. I would visit every day if I could. Your money goes towards feeding and the care of these babies.

Fun place that has lots of cats, mostly kittens, to hang with. We did not order any drinks or food but thought an hour visit would be fun. The 13-24 kittens were super active, running around and playing withr various toys. A few adult cats were not super interested in people and stayed away. A bunch of the kittens eventually got tired and faded into a nap. What stands out here is how many cats are adopted from here. The had a sign indicating 3,469 cats adopted to date. I get it - of you live locally, this is a good way to see if you will like a particular kitten. Super friendly staff here

A must see when visiting Honolulu! There are other cat cafes on the island but this one has the SWEETEST rescue kitties. It's only $21.99 for a one hour session. You first walk into a little cafe and shop (they sell souvenirs and other merch) where you can help yourself to a delicious drink or snacks. They go over some of the rules before you step into the cat room. The workers do an amazing job answering questions and talking about all the cats. They explained how the adoption process to take a cat back to the rest of the states is quite easy and I was so tempted to take some home - hopefully next time :) the cats are super adorable, the space was quite large and spacious and you can even give out treats for all the cats to come running over to you! It was so nice to see how socialized the cats were cuddling up against one another. I had such a great time and can't wait to come back someday.

During our visit to Hawai'i, my partner and I wanted to check out a cat cafe on the island and decided to visit Hawai'i Cat Cafe. Our first visit was okay but most of the cats were sleeping and we didn't want to bother them. This was around 5:30 pm. We were told that around this time, the room was warm from the sun's rays so it made the kittens nappy. We were told it's best to visit around the time they open or near closing because that's when the kittens are most energetic. So we came a second time around 10:30 am. We played with so many of the kittens, and this second time there were 3 or 4 really small kittens! It's really cool they're partnered to find these kittens home and it seemed like they get adopted pretty quickly because the second time we came a few of the kittens have already been adopted. I was told that Moose, a tuxedo kitty who sat on my lap the first and second visit, is a cuddle bug for a lot of visitors who can't adopt so I hope he finds his furever home soon also we were told that there are options to adopt and fly the kittens home with you so if you're a visitor to the island, don't let that stop you from helping a kitten find their furever home lol Got calico lattes the first and second visit and they were good every time. I think it was a macadamia nut flavored coffee, and my partner also said he saw a coffee machine so this cat cafe has solid coffee. Will definitely visit again the next time we visit the island!

We brought our young daughter and her friends to celebrate her birthday since she's always dreamed of having a cat. We went into the cafe first and ordered some drinks, which the barista made so well and quickly. While we waited, we read the rules and prepped to go inside the room with the kittens/cats. The room attendant was very kind and was very helpful in letting us know about the different cats and temperaments. Our daughter had the most wonderful time. Some of the kitties climbed onto her lap and some were a bit more reserved. It was fun to see all the different personalities. We signed up for an hour and that was the perfect amount of time to enjoy them but not stay too long to overwhelm them. Very clean space and well run with a beautiful mission to get the cats adopted. We will definitely be back when we are actively looking to adopt. Best birthday ever!

Are you on vacation and miss your cats at home? Come visit the Hawai'i Cat Cafe! For $17 you can spend 30 minutes with some adorable adoptable kittens and cats! They also serve drinks. I got the tortie tropical tea. We wandered in on a whim after a long-ish walk and wanted a drink to cool down and to spend time with cats! The drinks are made to order and came out quickly. They were very refreshing. You are allowed to bring your drinks and outside snacks into the cat room if be warned some cattos are mischievous. After purchasing your time you are given a buzzer which will vibrate when your time is up. The cat room is quite spacious. There are multiple tables and window side bench seating and cat trees. When we arrived around 3-4pm most of the cats were snoozing. They were all very friendly. The room is air conditioned so it was a great break for people. I noticed some had tipped ears. They had a lot of young kittens too! I think that 30 minutes was the perfect amount of time. You can hold the cats (be respectful if they squirm and say no), pet them, they have wand toys, and near the end of our time one of the employees came around and gave us treats to give to the cats. The wall near the large viewing glass has photos and the names of all of the current adoptable cats. The employees care and know the cats well. The cats seem happy. Maybe you still miss your cats at home. They have a lot of merchandise for sale including cat toys!

I took my youth group there and it was such a rewarding experience. First, the manager and staff really bent over backwards to accommodate our group, even extending their hours for us. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable and it's always awesome to support a local business that has a great mission. This is a rescue organization that provides homes for cats they save from various situations such as being abandoned, abused or found on the streets. Their cats are adoptable to good homes and are treated well at their café. Unlike other Cat Cafe's on island that import their cats and do not rescue or adopt out any cats. It was such a healing experience for the kids in my group to engage with the cats, especially for their mental and emotional well-being. Some of the cats come from a traumatic background and the kids learned to interact gently with them. We had a great visit to the Hawaii Cat Cafe last night and the parents & kids really enjoyed it. Their assortment of baked goods and drinks is awesome too! The kids loved all the drink choices and they were all so delicious. They also have such cute merchandise for cat lovers. One of the kids got a cat keychain and other merch. One of our students adopted her cat Daisy from here 3 years ago and has been so happy ever since. This is a wonderful place to visit for kids, families, and people of all ages. Educational, rewarding, and even healing for mental and emotional well-being. Feels good to support a local business that rescues cats and adopts them out to good homes. Thank you for all that you do. Plus, it has a café to sit and just enjoy the drinks and baked goods and the cats through the window.

I booked an online reservation for 3-4pm. It was a little hard to find this cafe but we finally found it. It's the building between the Hawaiian Bank and Texaco gas station. There were only 3 parking spaces available in the back but we were lucky to snag one. Upon entering, we checked in at the cafe's cashier station with an employee and she took our drinks orders. While making our orders, she had us sign a waiver for each adult. Service was very friendly! Our drinks were pretty good! I liked my husband's Tortie drink better than mine since the blended Orange Cream had a very very subtle hint of orange in it but still tasted good. Once we got our drinks, we were handed a buzzer to let us know when our time was up in cat room. We sanitized our hands and enter through the first door leading to the cat room and then the 2nd door once the first was closed all the way. The cat room had like maybe about 8 cats in it. The room itself was beautifully decorated with cute vibrant colors. The cats were all cute and well behaved. Most of them were sleeping since they were tired out from playing earlier. Each cat had a photo with their name on the wall so you can tell who is who. An employee was also available inside the room for any questions. There were plenty of beds and toys for the cats as well as food and water. You can tell they are greatly cared for and it's nice that each cat is up for adoption.

I love the friendly staff and yummy beverages. My favorite is the matcha latte, but my partner and I have enjoyed their coffees and herb teas, too. The gift store carries unique cat-themed items for every cat-lover in your life. But most of all, I love visiting the kitties, each with their own special traits, but all friendly and playful. Yes a few older cats prefer rest over play, but they are all ready to return your aloha in their own way. The ambiance is peaceful and fun; the environment is super clean. I always leave feeling happy and calm, and I'm sure it's good for my blood pressure and mental health. (Disclaimer: I am not a doctor.)

I wasn't completely sure how I felt about this place until I went inside. This is a cute little place owned by a husband and wife. You cannot enter from the front you have to enter from the side door next to Texaco. There are three free stalls in the back of the building to park. Inside the coffee, bar and gift shop is separated from the seated area with the cats. $17-21 to play with some cats and consider adoption.

The cats are adoptable, which I thought was such a kind and humane touch. It's clear they genuinely care about finding these cats loving homes. Just a friendly heads-up: scratches can happen. Pretty sure the owner does their best to keep those tiny murder mittens trimmed, but cats will be cats. We found street parking across the street since parking in front of the café was limited. Jasmin welcomed us and pointed to the menu on the wall. We saw pictures of the food outside the window and the menu was written on a chalkboard stand. Her cafe is small, but very cozy with bright, cool looking furniture, and there were beautiful art work on the walls, and she had on some catchy Arabian music as well. We tried the Meza plate: Baba Ghanoush (smoky eggplant dip), Dolmas ( tangy grape leaves), Za'atar bread( spices, onions)- Jasmin said this was everyone's favorite, after the taste of this bread you guys, it became our favorite! It tastes super nice and it was flavorful! There was feta cheese, kalamata olives, and bread cut in a triangular shape. Jasmin told us to open the bread and grab the dips, and cheese with it. Every bite was a whole different experience! It was delicious! Jasmin said we had to eat the Za'atar bread, with the cheese on it and it was just yum! Jasmin let us try Saudi coffee, with sweet dates, and I also ordered the Honey Rose Latte. The Saudi coffee had cardamom in it so it's different from regular coffees. My Honey Rose Latte was good too. Jasmin asked if I wanted my latte sweeter and added more of the sweetener in my coffee. Even Ryan liked it too! The rose water gave it a nice touch. We also had the Turkey Panini~Jasmin's turkey panini was super crispy! There was cheese melting in the inside! You can hear the crunch in every bite! There were vegetables in it too like bell peppers, pesto, zucchini, and turkey meat. Ryan and I were really loving it! And for the final course, we had to try the desserts! We ordered two kinds of cakes, the sour cream poppy seed cake, and pumpkin spice loaf. These cakes were super moist, and not as sweet, which was perfect with our coffee. And there was a nice sugary crumble texture with it! So friends, if you are feeling adventurous and want to try something new, come on down to Jasmin's cafe at Mirage Arts & Coffee. She also does open mic nights, there would be live entertainment, belly dancers, so if you want to have a small get together, Jasmin welcomes everyone. Jasmin is a wonderful host. She will walk you through everything if you are not familiar with the foods, and she will entertain you too. This place will take you to another level, transport you to somewhere you have never been. So I do recommend you guys trying for the experience.

I went with my mom who wanted to adopt a cat but was hesitant to go alone, so I went mainly as support. Their staff was extremely kind and informative, sharing both fun and important facts about their personalities and habits, and letting us know about which cats would be better fits for my mom's lifestyle than others. The adoption process went smoothly, incl. the digital contract, carriers, health documentation, etc. I was a bit surprised when they had a rep for pet insurance give a spiel for their insurance plans at the end - kinda felt like a surprise sales pitch sprung on us, but I appreciated that they encourage having pet insurance as emergencies with animals are bound to pop up. I'm seeing a lot of people having issues getting in touch with them remotely over phone or email, so I can't speak on that, but in person, they were great!

Not sure what her role is. (Although she seems to think she is the HHS police.) She seems to have major emotional dysregulation issues and will SNAP at people who are with a foster dog, or addopting a dog, that is sniffing at the three dog display cages in front, "DON'T LET THE DOG MAKE CONTACT WITH THE PUPPY!!!" (These three cages out front seem to be featured dogs they want people to notice?) Well perhaps they should put the cages higher up?? She also asks a lot of personal questions and follows people around the shelter, observing/spying as they view or interact with dogs (passive agressive much?!?!). If HHS was SO concerned about disease transmission, perhaps they should not have cats roaming loose inside the shelter, or FERAL CHICKENS flying and running around all over the shelter and DRINKING from the dog water bowls. After three encounters with this person in April and May, I don't want to go back. It's hard enough to be grieving and I don't need to deal with people who seem to be judging everyone who enters the shelter. I may check out the Ewa location instead. HHS leadership: the bizarre woman at the front needs to get some training on keeping her personal issues at the door when she shows up for work. GEEZ!!!

The best place to visit with the greatest owners. My review is long over-due but it is important to…read moreleave it! I came here during my vacation in Hawaii. We drove by and noticed this place and gave the number a ring via Google, and we were able to get an appointment on short notice. The owner came out with a little money, as he was even generous enough to pay for my parking. We tried the dole whip and the other treats that they offered and all of them were delicious. You can tell that the owners are really passionate about cats and kittens, and they really care about customer service. There is a lot of thought and energy that has been put into this place. The cats were all friendly but remember they are still cats so they have claws. If anything, some just wanted to play and were a little more assertive about it :) I was so delighted with the experience that I made a voluntary donation for $100. Covid has destroyed a lot of small businesses and I would hate to see this one go even though I am from California. Thank you Kitty Cafe! Hope I visit again soon.

My fiance and I like to call ourselves cat lounge connoisseurs. Just jokes- that's just me, in my…read moreown head calling myself that. But we do visit cat cafes/lounges more often than not. We go to the two in town once every few months, and enjoy the wide range of cats and kitten alike. Rebekah L. introduced us to this new kitty cafe early late last month, however with our schedules and the busy-ness of this lounge, we were only able to schedule a visit this past weekend. So we loaded up, and drove to meet Rebekah in not-so-small Kailua Town. We lucked out on street parking and met up with our friend to walk into the most kitschy kitty place of our dreams. Literally. The waiting area was decorated with cat posters and comfy chairs to wait for check in. The most impressive part was the huge cat tiki that commanded attention as soon as walking in. One of the cat owners, Heather, advised that the statue was commissioned and the work was so beautifully done it had me wondering if I wanted a cat tiki in my apartment.. After check in, we were directed to the snacks for purchase before entering the 'cat room'. We opted for both treats, and it would be brought into the cat room after it was made. The dole whip was delicious and such a generous portion too. We also tried the acai bowl for 'research purposes' and I was shocked to learn in was vegan. The acai bowl sweetness wasn't overpowering as it sometimes can be, and the granola had a nice crunch to it. So far this kitten lounge has my favorite snacks- definitely blew the previous bean water and tea out of the water. The nicest touch (in my opinion) was that the owner also directed us where the bathroom was before starting our cat adventure. It was a very nice touch as many places do not offer bathrooms, especially cat lounges. We sanitized our hands and walked into the cat area. There was a main cat area, currently decorated in the tiki/Old Hawaii style with tiny grass huts and aloha shirt cats framing the walls. One thing I was surprised and delighted to discover was that there was multiple cat rooms! To the left of the main room, there was two smaller rooms, decorated 'cat' themed as well, with Chinese Cat Paw wallpaper and cat trees and toys all over. There was 'human' seating room all over the place, and the different rooms allowed much more space and time with cats than it would have been with just one big room. There was enough hiding space for the kittens to chill out for a nap. However they were relentless in their playing and just general 'kitten-ness' that there wasn't much napping when we were there. We currently have a soon to be three year old cat, and have been on the hunt for a possible candidate for our shy guy. One thing I didn't notice beforehand (in my excitement for cats) was that the lounge was only meant for kittens, and not cats of all ages. It didn't take away from my experience at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. My fiancé ended up falling for a cute tiny kitten named Kona, however it wasn't meant to be and we didn't end up adopting her. After our hour was up, we said a heartful goodbye to the kittens and the Owners, and left feeling much more relaxed than when we came in. We will be adding Aloha Kitty Cafe into our roster of cat lounges to visit and cannot wait for our next kitty play date!
