There's one permanent BBQ place and 2 pop-up caterers on rotation/schedule. I'm feeling sluggish, BBQ is the last thing I want. But then the memories of my first Smoke Datt rib returns. It looked dry, but on that day I wanted BBQ, so dry or not I'm Fat Guy from the Spy Who Shagged Me. It was like yesterday when i went in for that bite but OH! Meat falling, tongue rejoicing. Teeth! The food was in big warming bags to keep it warm. Food was tasty, not salty or fat-laden like fast food. Everyone (about 35 people) talked about how good it was and asked where it came from. Each (federal government) employee paid a suggested donation to cover the cost, so it was important to me that everyone enjoyed it. Chef Devanta was easy to work with. He offered options and worked with me to stay within budget. He made sure there were vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options AND he made my party-planning responsibility easy! We spoke by phone a few times before and after ordering, then he called 2 days before the party to confirm everything. We talked again this morning just to check in. I am so pleased and grateful!
