We are here on 8/7 and it is a great location with a friendly staff. Food was good, but not something I feel like I would be missing if I didn't try it. Our biggest complaint was the overwhelming number of flies outside when our appetizers started coming out. There were probably 20-30 flies swarming around our table. I went to the hostess to see if we could move to the covered patio and couldn't seem to find which table I was referring to that was being attacked by flies. I told here were were the table where 3 people were swatting flies and they were having to work extra hard because I was reporting the problem so there was one less person there to fight them off . We were moved and then ate. Great location, ok food, just watch out for the fly farm if you eat outside. read more

Food was good but dishes were expensive. The restaurant was confusing; prices and dishes were for fine dining but atmosphere was casual with cornhole game out front. Kinda weird. I hate being negative, but I feel this is fair. After a long week of vacation, my party of 15 called and made a Friday dinner reservation at Havana's. The host took our reservation and said no problem. Unfortunately, the manager called us back and canceled our reservation 10 minutes later, explaining the host was new and that a large party needed manager approval and that she wouldn't give it to us. Its bad form to call and cancel a reservation, should of just let it fly and learn for the next time? To have everything set only to have to find another place just didn't sit right with me. You are better than that Havana's! Too many other options to send customers away. read more

We heard about this spot and put it on our list of restaurants to check out. Waited for a table outside and staff was friendly. Our waitress was sweet. There were 4 of us dining & they got 2 orders wrong. While they remade both, one burger was still not cooked to the temp ordered. At that point everyone had long finished their meals so my husband just ate it. Management was nice about it but was disappointing. My wife and I tried Havana's for the first time last night. Dined outside. The blackened Mahi Carolina style was delicious. My wife's ribeye was excellent as well and cooked to perfection. I hate to admit it rivaled mine at home. The service from Shelly and food were so good that we came back for Sunday brunch this morning and ate inside. Excellent seafood restaurant in Carolina Beach. Set in renovated 1916 era house, with beautiful outdoor seating, and extremely friendly staff and manager. We had the mahi mahi tacos and hawaii tuna, both very tasty and well prepared. Will be back to try the bananas foster! read more

This place is one of my regulars. I usually get whatever the fresh catch is, but have had most things on the menu over the years. Consistently good food, and the place is clean. Sometimes they can be slow, but I suggest ordering a drink and enjoy the time with who you are with. read more

Dropped in first night of vacation and was happy to do so. I think the yelp stars a little low this place is amazing nice atmosphere great staff, and delicious food. I had the daily fish special which was mahi mahi Carolina style which included two shrimp and Creole sauce over it. The fish was prepared well the sauce added a nice addition to the flavor. The steamed vegies were tender and delicious and the sweet pea risotto added a nice touch to balance it all. Sat outside the atmosphere was lovely our server Lauren was nice and attentive. This was our first time in here. We stopped because a review we had read said that the clam chowder was so good. I'm glad we took that advice. The food was excellent (yes I had the chowder) and the atmosphere was pleasant. It's small and intimate, but definitely didn't feel rushed. All the staff were incredibly friendly. My wife and I went back today for lunch after a long hiatus from this restaurant given our last experience in 2017. We like to give second chances and today's service and meal was simply outstanding! Our waitress was friendly and professional and we also appreciated the manager stopping by to check on everything. From our appetizer to the main meal everything was perfectly prepared and made for a wonderful experience that will bring us back! Excellent cuisine food and service. The live music was great for dining. I couldn't think of a better place for dinner on the whole strip. We had a group of 13 and were seated right away. The waitress was very attentive even though she had other tables. Down side of eating outside is the flies swarming around our table and getting on the food. read more

What a gem right across from the Marriott Courtyard. We arrived right as brunch was ending and they allowed us to order from that menu. Thankfully they did. The Bloody Mary has a huge shrimp on the glass and the mix was spiced just right. The fried oyster Benedict was amazing. The fried shrimp platter was obviously fresh shrimp just caught. I have been to Carolina Beach many, many times and glad we decided to try a different place. We went with a party of 21. For this many people, the food was delivered in a timely manner and was the bomb! I tasted a lot of the meals and absolutely everything I tried was delicious. I had the clam chowder and crab dip but the best I tasted was the Explosion Shrimp. Recommendation: reservations. read more

This place looked great.. BUT the manager wouldn't let our toddler have his sippy cup... citing an ALA grievance, which is totally false. We've had no problem with it in ANY other restaurant here. She was completely rude with it, and offered zero resolution on our way out. The server even stated he's never heard of that and no other customers had ever had an issue with it.
