I scheduled Hauser Heating & Air for the first time on 10/14 from 10:00-3:00. They called at 2:45 and told me that they would be an hour late. I had an appointment at 3:30 that I needed to go to. I went ahead and rescheduled for 11/8 8:00 to 2:00. After wasting my morning waiting around for them, I received a call at 1:30 that they needed to reschedule 2-6. I had plans to go out, so I cancelled the appointment. I'm very disappointed on how unreliable they are. I would never recommend or use their services in the future. read more

Dishonest, deceitful, Immoral: This summer, we had Hauser inspection a relatively upscale (Platinum Infinity Carrier) furnace that we bought from them and they installed. They said there was nothing wrong - including a fan one of their competitors was going out. About 2 weeks later when we first used the furnace, it did not work. When we called Hauser, they said the fan needed replaced. We asked why they just told us it was OK. They said they could not predict a fan going out - although apparently their competitors can. At this time we were a few days past our warranty, but Hauser agreed to replace under warranty (parts, not installation). They charged $1,792 for an installation that took 20 - 30 min, an effective labor rate of $3,600/hr. Numerous calls were ignore with the exception that a business person explained that this is not an hourly rate, just the price they charge for this installation. Promises to have a General Manager and a Manger call us never materialized. This charge is greedy and reprehensible, and the fact they want to call it an "installation fee" - independent of an hourly rate, is immoral: a grifter's flim-flam shell game. Why do they hide behind linguistic obfuscation. I will pay a reasonable, even premium hourly rate for a uniquely-trained, highly-qualified, well-paid technician who knows which screws and wires to work on, but no one can defend an annual labor rate of $7.5 M. read more

I had multiple things go wrong with my HVAC installation. First, the AC didn't work due to blower issue, then both AC & furnace failed permit inspection. They were supposed to pull an electric permit but didn't, so I had to call multiple times to get this done only to have both AC & furnace fail this inspection. It took them several times to come out and fix all this. On top of that, my furnace didn't work initially and made an awful noise. It turns out they set the gas level way too high. I paid over $12,000 for the HVAC system. The installation was so horrificly poor in my opinion. It was installed in July and I finally got all the permit issues resolved in November. Tech "Guy" came and said Inducer Motor could fail at any time because it was drawing .60 AMPs but should draw only .38 Cost to repair $2,830 but he suggested perhaps replacing due to age for $9,000 to $11,000 I was leery and got Geiger Heating, recommended by my neighbor, to come out to give me a second opinion. I saw first-hand the Motor was drawing .38 to .39 and it was perfectly fine. The Geiger service man said Inducer Motors seldom are an issue. I have used Hauser for 30 years but NO MAS! I Requested Fall PM service in August on my heat pump. They had done it 3 times before. Talked to Salesman Mike. He committed to me 4 times the PM was set up for Oct 4th. Had texts from him to confirm. Was also going to change a Fan motor. Nobody ever showed up. Was reached out on the 4th by Rob a service supervisor. Asked him to follow up. Never heard back. Bought a new Carrier furnace and air conditioner March 31, 2024. Today we have placed the 10th call for service. A couple of calls were on the furnace and the rest have been on the air conditioner. This is the second NIGHT we are without air conditioning. Outside temperature is 88 degrees at 8:45 pm and inside temperature is close behind. I called Hauser Customer Service My AC went out, I called at 1130pm Saturday night for repair. I called them a second time to fi d out where they were at. She said she did not have a seevice call set to come out. She said it would be 1pm to 6pm I told her that would not work She said she would set me from 9 to 1 pm. 230pm rolls around and nothing I spent about 18 mins on hold for them to call a service tech. The service manager rob called and I explained the situation and he was very professional and very helpful. He got a hold of Zachary and said he was finishing a calls and would be at my House by 6pm. We have been a long time Hauser customer for over 3 years. When we first moved in to our new (to us) house, we noticed that the HVAC system was very outdated and the heat pump unit itself had visible rust. Miraculously, it was still running. But given how old the entire system is, our upstairs and downstairs temperature difference was quote drastic. Of course, the colonial layout of our house doesn't help either, as our airflow is generally not very efficient. We contact Hauser Air (among others) to come to give us an estimate on what we can do to correct or at least ameliorate the temperature imbalance as part of a comprehensive system update. For $13,000 (yes, I know, don't judge), we got an American Standard 18 seer high efficiency heat pump along with a three stage air handler, and upstairs/downstairs zoning. Given the level of complexity of this system, we expected there to be some hiccups. Over the course of the following two years, we experienced a lot of unforeseen issues associated with this system. For one thing, the airflow (lack thereof) upstairs hindered the efficiency of the zoning system, which itself triggered the heat pump to automatically shut off. Each time something happened, Hauser immediately sent a technician to come within 24 hours to address whatever is the issue. In year 3, most problems have been solved and the system is now running very smoothly. We also signed up for their VIP program given the quality of the service we experienced. The only reason Hauser lost a star here is because the person who sold us the system was apparently in over his head, and all of the problems we experienced was due to the way he designed and sold us the system. Their technicians were even telling us how he was fired by Hauser due to his unethical sales tactics that resulted in a lot of service calls. read more

I have been using Hauser, in Cincinnati, for more than 10 yrs. They installed a new furnace and AC unit and do my main't, on contract, twice a year. They are always on time, text me to say they are on their way, are reasonably priced, courteous and making an appointment is easy. Twice I've had an emergency need for service and their 24 hr. service was a godsend. A wonderful new feature is that they send a text showing a photo of the Technician who will be arriving, so no surprises at the door. I have never had anything but wonderful service. While the particular piece was under warranty, Roy Hauser called personally and said they were going to replace the whole thing as our system was brand new. Last night, Christmas Eve, our heat went off. I called Hauser's answering service six times between 10pm and 3am. The answering service kept telling me someone was on call and if I didn't hear from them in 1/2 hour to call back. Each time I called they said the same thing. NO ONE returned my call. My elderly mother and I spent the night freezing because I was afraid to leave the house in case pipes burst. Thank goodness for our electric blankets. I advised Hauser each time I called that my Mom was elderly and had had a stroke and that I had asthma. This was not what I expected and am very sad that this happened on Christmas. When no one answered this morning another company called and said they could be here in an hour. Don't bother calling them if you have an emergency, they won't come. read more

Technician sent from the company was very rude and unprofessional!!!!! Upon opening the door to greet the worker he immediately berated me with questions about "why another contractor was on site". He then stated "how unprofessional I was for having someone else present to look at the HVAC problem". He went on with question after question about the other contractor being present, but ultimately he failed to call ahead to inform me he was enroute after clearly stating they would call. This conversation occurred in front of another HVAC tech as well as two of my staff members who witnessed the entire transaction. Prior to his arrival he was unaware that I had already called the company directly to check on the ETA of the tech and was told the assigned technician had two additional calls in front of me and they provided me with an updated arrival time of 2-3 hours. This company never gave me a courtesy call ahead and the 2-3 hour window ended up being 30 minutes. More importantly, the rude behavior and hostile attitude of the technician was completely inappropriate and bordered getting the authorities involved. I immediately called Mr. Hauser directly because I had just interacted with him the day before and the experience with him was professional and pleasant. He listened to me and apologized about the whole encounter and asked that I call back to speak with the general manager and service manager. So, I did what he suggested and called the company and asked to speak with a member of management. Upon speaking with the dispatcher and informing her of my unpleasant experience with the tech, her only question was "Is their another company present on the site". At that point I asked again to speak to a manager at the direction of Mr. Hauser personally. Her response to speak with a manager was "They are in meetings". I'd give this company a negative it I could. I paid for a year service contract for my HVAC but before they come out to turn up the A/C it started showing signs of problems. When I called them they wanted $85 just for the service call. Saying that a turn up isn't the same as a repair. Although I agree it is not the same, and I am more then willing to pay for the repairs. They have already been paid for the service call through the service contract. Also, I called them Monday morning and left a message asking for them to call me. I never got a return call and I had to call them back on Tuesday. Very poor customer service and I will be calling the BBB. read more

The capacitor on my outdoor unit died a week ago. I called Gallagher Heating and Air and learned they had merged with Hauser last year. I was a Gallagher customer because they did a great job for me at a great price in the past. I went ahead and tried Hauser. While they got the job done and the unit is working, they charged close to $360.00 total just to replace the capacitor. The invoice Hauser provided is not itemized well enough to determine what I paid for outside of "1 unit of service call" and "1 unit of capacitor replacement". I've owned multiple homes and had this service done more than once and this is the highest I've ever paid for a capacitor replacement. The tech tried to cross-sell us on other services at inflated prices at the time of the service. I then received a follow-up call where a service rep tried to cross-sell me on a maintenance plan to reduce my costs. Finally, when I explained that I felt the charge for the capacitor seemed high, I got a call from a service manager who again, tried to cross-sell me, this time for an entire new system, with the carrot being that they'd waive the cost of the capacitor replacement. I've shared this story with a number of folks now and they felt this was pretty shady. Ambiguous invoice, high prices, and an emphasis on cross-selling as opposed to explaining the pricing in more detail - all not good. Again, they'll get the job done, and they did it well. However, watch your wallet and shop around. They got me in a pinch. My best response at this point is that I'll be replacing my HVAC system top to bottom in the next couple of years - unless something extraordinary happens, it won't be through Hauser. Cross-selling efforts failed. read more
