I ordered the 6 piece with crinkle fries and slaw and a 32 oz. Drink. $19 for this. A little expensive on my opinion. The tenders were not big, they were a little below average, had a bland taste, very tender, juicy but needed spice. I did like the southwest sauce that came with it. Slaw was ok, nothing to brag about. The crinkle fries were dry and thin cut, hard and crispy. Everything was hot and fresh. Would I eat here again. Uhhhh, maybe. I wasn't overly impressed.

SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!

When the male repeated the order back to my husband it was again incorrect. Finally after getting the order corrected (we thought) we get home and the whole order was wrong. I do not recommend this location at all, they need to be better organized and their staff need to pay attention and listen so they can get the orders correct the first time. It was just a mess!!!

I love everything about that place, including that the inside hasn't been updated in 30 to 40 years, and the grills look older than the building. The staff have that easy-going/un flappable attitude that goes hand-in-hand with somebody who has been cooking Mexican food for an awfully long time... The mild and hot sauce are OK... Personally, I would go hot , and the Horchata is on the sweet side, so perhaps not the right choice if you're diabetic, but otherwise it can function as drink/dessert.
