When it was all done, it was finished early and on budget, looking better than we could have imagined! Was recommended a few places in Everett to buy tile for my bathroom. After shopping around, Hatloes had the best prices. Scott Gregerson was great to work with and I was always able to get ahold of him. They work with local suppliers, so it only took a few days to get my order.... they pickup every a Tuesday for my supplier. On the day of pickup, they loaded my tile into my SUV and away I went! I bought a very common paint color four years ago from Hatloes. I then went to do touch ups and found that the next can of paint they sold me was completely off. Not even subtle. So what started as just having to do a few touch ups turned into now having to completely repaint. And let's not forget numerous drives and conversations with Hatloes trying to fix their mess. Only for them to want to charge me for a new can of paint. Plus, and extra 25 bucks for them to color match? Isn't that their job in the first place? To match paint colors? Especially premixed paint that is totally straightforward. I will not be doing business in the future with them. I try to support local businesses. Very disappointing to say the least! read more

I shopped for and purchased laminate flooring and wall paint at Hatloe's with Nancy's help. After she came to my home for measurement we searched thru all the excellent options available at the store. I went with two different laminates and three different paints. Due to the pandemic, ordering the laminate and trim pieces was challenging but Nancy handled it well even when the warehouse made a mistake on a trim piece. She is very professional and responsive and I am planning on shopping Hatloe's for more projects in the future. Great value for the cost. read more

We recently chose Hatloes for our carpet install of our new home. We e gone with the big box retailers in the past and while the carpet/pad was great, the installers were less than pleasant to work with. Measuring and scheduling came off without a hitch. They worked within our timeline of closing on the new house. Installers and customer service were great! However.. we had a sample of the carpet we wanted from the big box and showed it to them at the measure appt. color matched with the Hatloes sample and was told it was the same quality. Same with the pad. We wanted the highest pad we could get. Install ce and I feel like we were baited and switched. The carpet rolls were NOT thick and plush but we thought maybe it's the pad that makes a difference. Day of install... color is great, install was great but I'm so so disappointed in the quality of the carpet when we knew exactly what we wanted and told that was an exact match. It's not plush and soft like our old carpet. I wish we were given a sample Vs just a verbal confirmation it was a match. We went with the second highest pad since we were told the only difference was the waterproof backing, but again, it's not near and thick and plush as we had in our old house. (Having just gone they carpet there the year before, we knew the process and what we were looking for) We loved the idea of local, but every morning when I put my feet down off my bed onto the carpet, I'm disappointed. So much for splurging on new carpet in our new house. I'll be sure to get actual samples of the actual product next time. read more

Purchased a kitchen low profile carpet to place under the kitchen table, $400 dollars of pain and misery, when we contacted Hattloes they referred to the fact they needed to contact the manufacturer. Which responded that the carpet was not to be used in the manner of which we were using it...........No foot traffic and not furniture ...................???????? What would you use a carpet for ????? the Hattloes would not stand with the customer and simply referred to the manufacturer as the final word . Finally received refund for 1/2 of the purchase price and are now stuck with a degrading carpet in the kitchen until we can find a reputable store in Everett to purchase a replacement...... Good luck if you shop at this business and expect support if you have issues with what they have sold ....................... read more

We recently purchased a new home and wanted to get the same large area rugs the previous owners had, which is the only reason we ended up using Hatloes. I was working with Karla, and after our first conversation I followed up via email, and in her return email she addressed the other person on the account, instead of the me who actually signed the email, simple mistake...but should have been telling. We ordered the rugs with the knowledge that it would take 4 weeks to get the carpet and have it cut and bound and then delivered. The week before it was suppose to be delivered, Karla called me and asked for $260 more because "the carpet is thick and it costs more to cut and bind it." I said okay, because at this point it's a week before our move and I'm already in over $3,000. I asked if we were still on track for a Monday delivery. And she assured me that we were. On Friday the 13th, I emailed her to see about delivery and even called Hatloes. I was told that she was out taking measurements for a client and was given her cellphone. I called and left a voicemail. She never responded to my email or my phone call. On the morning of the move I sent her another email, expressing my extreme frustration. She emailed back saying that she was on vacation...which isn't what was told to me on the phone the Friday before. She emailed later that day to tell me the carpets would be delivered the following Monday. So on Monday the 23rd, I emailed her asking if I was still in on for a delivery that day, because I didn't trust anything that I was told anymore, and I never heard from her. I called Hatloes and was transferred to the delivery guy. After him searching for my order, he asked how to say my last name...and he responded with "That's not how I would say it." He said he'd be leaving in about 1/2 an hour to bring the rugs. They showed up two hours later. I had to help arrange the rugs as well. I got an email from Karla on December 26th saying "I hope you love your rugs!" And then asking for the extra money for the cutting/binding. She never even addressed the delays or anything else. I'm so extremely frustrated...while the rugs are nice...this entire experience has left such a bitter taste in my mouth. I wouldn't ever recommend this company to anyone. read more

Nancy is AMAZING! Her professionalism and customer service cannot be beat and her installer, David, is a wonderful craftsman! I had a kitchen counter project (wood grain laminate) with very specific instructions. I reached out to about six local companies/contractors, most of whom never even responded with a bid. One company even told me the way I wanted the laminate laid out was "wrong" and would not install it the way I wanted (Kraus Laminates). Nancy was the only person to take the time to read my specs, provide a very detailed estimate for me, follow through on her dates and timelines, and see the project through to completion. And - even better than all that - it was easy to see from the beginning that she was very warm, trustworthy, and sincere. Went in on a search for flooring....I found a few things I liked and took them home. When I went back in to return the samples, I overhear the staff in the sales area openly talking negatively about other customers! After that, I should have thought twice but Hatloes brands this product so, (even thought I looked hard) you cant get it anywhere else, it belongs to Carpet One. Price seemed right. Delivery fee was reasonable. So we ordered. The salesperson I worked with- Jill, had Zero respect for my time. Didn't return calls as promised. Never in the office when I called. When the product got to my house a lot of the pallets had fallen over and 11 of the box's were crushed at the corners. I was worried about the product being damaged so I marked all those boxes and took a photo and emailed it to Jill explaining my concern. I never heard back from her at all! Then after she knew I had complained to the owner, she emailed me saying she had a complimentary bottle of Floor Cleaner waiting for me to pickup for the "delivery hassle". That bottle of cleaner was retail value of $8.75 - yep, $8.75! The delivery man was really nice but was "hoping someone was home to help haul this product into the house". Ummm.... we paid for delivery! I spoke to the owner who pretty much blamed everything on the fact that its hard to find good help right now and some of the staff are having personal issues...etc. If you must use them...please reach out to Nancy. She was there for me when I hadn't heard anything about my order, understood my concern and had great communication and excellent follow through. So wish I would have met her first! I had a BIG carpet snafu out of state (from a big box store), so I went into Hatloe's to see if they could help me. the carpet is going in our place in CA, so wasn't sure if they could assist me since. Karla from Design came right over to me, heard my dilemma, and helped me within 30 minutes get my problem resolved. She called the CarpetOne rep in CA to assure we were all on board with my new carpet choice. Problem solved! Karla is very knowledgeable and customer-oriented. It was the best feeling knowing I had what seemed to be a big problem now resolved within half an hour with Karla! Over the years, we have been quite satisfied with the Hatloes paint department. But we were dissatisfied with the carpet department on our visit. We went to Hatloes about re-carpeting 1000 sq Foot of our home. We also had painting in the project. So we asked Hatloe staff for some nylon carpet samples to use with selection. Other retailers (and Hatloes in the past) would loan carpet samples. We were disappointed and surprised when picking up two samples; the samples were polyester and not nylon as requested and required a twenty dollar payment. read more

I recently purchased a new home and wanted to replace all the floor coverings. I wanted all the work to be done before I moved in. I visited all the big box stores, discount stores and Hatloes, the locally owned family business. I was immediately impressed with the service, the great selection of all the products and how they worked with me to help choose products that were available so that their excellent installers could get the floors finished so I could move in. Everyone in the store works with one another, if Scott wasn't available and I had a specific questions, whoever answered the phone would research and answer my question. I so appreciated the friendly professionalism and knowledge of all the sales persons in the store. Whereas I couldn't get a commitment of less than 6 to 8 weeks or further out and no guarantee what I chose would be available, Hatloes worked tirelessly with me to make sure I was on schedule for my move with the exact products I loved! It took Hatloes 220 days to get my hardwood flooring and baseboard trim done. Had a water leak which required all of the 900 sqft of flooring to be replaced along with the baseboard trim. The insurance company was great, Hatloes seemed to drag their feet in getting this job done. The communication at best was poor! The hardwood flooring went in just fine but the installer put the old baseboard trim back on after dinging it up and also put dents in the sheetrock walls. I brought this to the attention of Hatloes and was told to be patient, after waiting 30 days (being patient) with no communication I emailed Hatloes, Insurance Company, Certified Flooring. The insurance adjuster could not believe the job wasn't done. I received an email from Hatloes customer insurance rep and was informed that tomorrow was his last day of employment with Hatloes, he was moving to Texas. No communication! The person that took over his job communicated even less. After spending thousands of dollars and waiting 220 days to get a 5 day project done...I believe that I have been more than patient Hatloes. No communication. Communication is everything. read more

We have been in there twice and have always been ignored. The first time we wanted a rug and had to find someone to help us, which seemed to irritate the guy. Today the sales people were more interested in have a loud personal discussion than helping customers while the others ignored everyone while on their computers. They keep a running inventory of all the paints you purchase and what room you have used them in so when it is time to retouch or paint again it is as simple as walking in and saying give me a can of living-room. Have done business with Hatloes for several years. Their focus on the customer has changed. Various employees gave different quotes when pricing vinyl flooring. Settled on a price and was told the material would be available on Tuesday of the following week for pick up at the store. Missed truck on Tuesday and Friday. Was told I could pick it up in Kent if I needed it by Monday. I drove to Kent, from Everett to pick up the material. Hatloes did not offer to make a special trip to retain me as a customer. I prefer not to write negative reviews but hopefully they will learn from this. Don't ever take customers for granted. read more

We have used Hatloes for our carpet, blinds, tile and paint. A+ for all four areas: Flooring: Our very first purchase at Hatloes was carpet in our new home. We had chosen carpet at a different carpet store, but a friend told us to try Hatloes. We found a higher quality carpet (Lees for Living) that we loved, and we were delighted to find out that it would cost us less than the other store. Because of my allergies, we had to replace the carpet before moving in to our new home. We were selling our home in Seattle and buying in Everett with a very narrow window to move out of one and into the other. Hatloes scheduled the installation and everything worked out beautifully. Paint: We love Benjamin Moore paint. It's high quality so it goes farther. The paint experts helped us choose the right product for different rooms inside, and for the exterior of our house. We LOVE the way they keep track of our colors and where we have used them. We can simply call them up and ask for 3 gallons of our exterior paint, and they will have it ready when we get there. Blinds: They are exclusively Hunter Douglas and have a great range of products and price ranges. They are experts. There are so many details involved in selecting blinds. They know all the ins and outs. They have helped us as well as our in-laws with blinds and shades. Tile: We used one of the Hatloes design experts to help us plan our bathroom remodel. She helped us choose a countertop, tile for the bathtub/shower, paint colors and even took time to help us choose fabric for a shower curtain and valance. We weren't even buying the fabric from Hatloes, but she still took time to help us coordinate it with our other purchases. The design service was complimentary. We did compare prices to other stores and were so pleased that once again the Hatloes price was better. We love Hatloes! read more

No trim work after paying for flooring.....use of subs not hatloes workers...no warrenty information....no cleaning information....this is a fire and forget organization in a bad way... Discussed several issues in the initial contracting process and when issues came up that were discussed things got very difficult. House is a 1940s bungalow so perfection was not going to be achieved but discussions were had before hand yet never followed through. Ultimately had to get another contractor to finish the trim. I was recently getting estimates for flooring for my whole house when I decided to check out your store verses going to the "big box" retailers. At first my experience was great. Michelle was new but helpful and Jill did a wonderful job when she came out for measurements. They by far came under my price range without me even picking out my selections yet. But it all went wrong when I came in to make my selections and told I wouldn't need an appointment but would need to wait if they were with someone. That was fine, I wanted to look around myself. I was looking at carpet when the nice lady that had greeted me said "you are looking at the most expensive carpet in the store". I don't think she meant it that way now, but at the time I took it as I couldn't afford it. Surprise I could! I then heard Michelle pitch a fit about wanting to go to lunch,not realizing I was on the other side of the rack from her, so she left and did not help me. I had all my selections and loved them. I let the other lady know what they were because I didn't want to wait longer and risk sitting in traffic. I was told I'd be contacted when she was back from lunch. It is now 5 days later and still no contact so I went with another company. Hopefully she enjoyed her lunch. read more

First we went there to buy carpet for our new home (we believe in supporting small business) the staff was not very helpful at all, when we questioned wether they installed right color of carpet the sample boards were no longer available. Next we needed a mini blind repaired and the sales person told us that they were a drop off point for A Allpro blinds (to me this means that we would we paying Allpro not Hatloes with a mark up). It came down to having to get my violins back from Hatloes and bring them to Allpro to avoid a 200 percent mark up. I would avoid these guys or at least Check their prices before doing business with them read more

I have been using Hatloe's now since 2008 and have had great service from them. I did a little comparison shopping with their competitor down the road -- Completely Floored. Hatloe's was by far the least expensive, even though they provided the same quality materials, both in carpeting and laminate flooring. Salespersons at Hatloe's are very willing to work with you on reviewing options and installation dates and times. Their installation people are the absolute best in the business -- very courteous, punctual and attentive to detail. They always clean up after themselves, and try to minimize dust impact while they're working. I would have given a full 5 stars, but they do not appear to have a loyalty program. I had nearly identical work done recently to work that was performed a few years ago, but the amount I paid was significantly more than the last time. Would like to see Hatloe's discount their products and services for repeat business like me. read more

I am very happy with the service at Hatloes. Upon my initial call, owner Steve came to meet us at our location and brought some samples to show us. It was really easy to work with them and in about 3 weeks we had all new carpet, professionally done with top quality standards and friendly installers. I chose Hatloes over Home Depot because HD wanted the entire balance up front before the job was even started. At Haltloes I was able to make a 50% payment up front and the rest after the job was done. They were great to work with and I would highly recommend Hatloe's for your new carpet! read more

The main reason I picked Hatloes I was told that they have their own employees do the work which is not true according to the installers that came to my home, they use contractors. I went to their store on May 6 working on a complete kitchen remodel, I needed flooring, counter top, sink and fixtures, paint, tile back splash and I found the tile I had to have, I planned the entire kitchen floor to ceiling around this one imported tile from Turkey. I was told that they could get it within a week don't worry, it is in the warehouse this was the first of the many times I inquired via email, phone and in person over a two and a half month period and was told the same thing. On that same day I selected the counter top and asked for a bid, got it quick. I then selected a couple different floor samples, thought about it for five days, showed a friend and said yes this is the one. Then it started, not returning phone calls, phone calls being screened, not replying to emails, appointments changed, example; when I called to find out if Jill was still coming to see the kitchen for planning materials and also measure the floors since she was late for the appointment I was told she was with another customer and the owner was coming to measure my floors. The owner of company comes hurrying into my home in his shorts apologizing like crazy for his appearance with his wife waiting out in the truck because they are on their way to a baseball game and the person that was suppose to measure was ill, but later Jill told me it was her son that was ill, neither of them knew I had called to see what was happening with the appointment. OK 1st benefit of doubt. Then it was not until a month later June 4th that anyone checked on the flooring, just guess, not available it had been recalled and Jill was not sure why they even had a sample on the floor for customers to choose. I had to start all over again and I was not looking for easy tan vinyl floor that everybody has. I finally settled on something that would work, but not super great and it is on the east coast, 16 days to get to Seattle. The counter top and sink which I purchased from Hatloes gets installed by another company while waiting for the flooring. Then on July 9th the floor installers arrive they think the prep work is great and this will not take more than 3 or 4 hours, they were happy, not going to take anytime at all. Just guess, they did not bring enough flooring, someone did not order enough or measuring was wrong, or not sure, but everyone was pointing fingers and the installer wanted to put a seam in the middle of the kitchen from end to end of the high traffic area, my husband said no and now the installer is really ticked off and really has an attitude. He has to wait a couple of hours for more flooring to be delivered, does a very poor job, no complete glue, no complete trimming, no cleaning etc.. and leaves. The next day Jill comes to see the work and measure for the back splash, I tell her I want to be done with the back splash at the end of July, it is July 10, she has known the plan all along. She has a clipboard writing stuff down while pointing out poor work that she says needs to be fixed and now we have to wait until Monday before the installer can come back and finish the job completely. He comes for about 30 minutes, does some trimming around the edges and tells my husband if we want anything else fixed with the floor we need to talk to Jill, he has nothing else to fix on his list. I call leave a message, then have to email the store Jill tells me via email that the installer fixed everything. The molding does not fit due to there is vinyl up the side of the cabinets, there are deep scratch marks from trim knives on my brand new 16K custom cabinets, the seams are splitting apart just a little bit in multiple places after 6 days, seams are crooked some cut high some cut low. They did send a different contractor a couple days later blaming us conflict w/contractor, to fix as much as he could, he was not able to fix it all. Then I get an email on July 15 stating that the tile I have been asking about since May 7th is not available until the end of August and beside that they do not have any installers available until then anyway, does Jill expect me to believe that 5 days earlier she did not know that they had no one to do the work for a month and a half? This is her job. This email also suggested that I might want to select another tile that would be easier to get. As for selecting another tile at this point when the kitchen is complete with the exception of the back splash where the tile is to be used knowing all along from the start of design that the entire kitchen has been focused on this selection of this one tile is just an absurd suggestion. I did send an email directly to Jim Hatloe at two different email addresses many days ago and never heard a word, I have learned my lesson. I will never recommend Hatloes to anyone ever. read more

We got great service from them, just what you'd expect and what we needed, far beyond what the box stores can do. Steve and others explained to us so we could choose with confidence the carpet for one of our rentals that we like to make a real home for our renters. We were replacing 30 plus year old carpeting that had held up with over 25 years worth of renters, maybe could have been replaced a couple years earlier than we did, but those stairs are expensive!
