a close up of a driveway

Update 6/24/23 After a years of multiple back and forth discussions with the company, Alec from company visited my property and agreed repairs were indeed needed and performed repair work on 6/24/23. HATCH did a better job this time and still waiting for seal coating to be completed. Pictures posted below. Despite the company doing a better job second time, I personally would not prefer working with them again given the time it took me to convince of repair needed. Constant postponement is something I had to deal with and certainly tested my patience despite full payment upfront

Excellent job! Neatly done with all the cracks filled in prior to applying the sealer.

The Hatch crew showed up this morning to seal my driveway that I had booked in early April. Due to Covid-19 there were delays which is completely understandable. Doug and his crew worked their asses off and did an outstanding job. They were quick and efficient and informative regarding the sealing and also looked at a section in need of repair. They gave me a suggestion and will send me a quote to perform the repair. After reading the prior reviews I admit I was skeptical but not anymore. As a matter fact they have earned my future business and I will recommend them to everyone. Hatch has a great crew who was personable and informative and they all were really great guys. Thanks Hatch! Excellent job well done!

Unfortunately, after a couple of years of trying to resolve issues from work done I have given up. Driveway and drain repair was done back in 2017. The owner makes you think he wants to work with you but that is not the case. If you do choose them make sure your conteact is detailed and don't make changes or agree to anything unless you have it in writing.

I hired Hatch in June 2001 to fix an area of asphalt outside my garage doors and a full seal coat. Although deposits were made and many calls took place they did not show up to perform work until summer 2022. When they arrived their truck hitch was broke and they could not bring the infrared machine to do the job correctly and built a large berm in front of my garage doors on top of the existing and left. After management saw the work performed they quoted me additional to tear it all out along with a large area of old driveway so the driveway could be pitched properly even though i was not told this during the estimate process. They performed the work and left the seam between old and new as if there was a wide, crooked trench cut in the middle of the driveway and not a nice clean seam like they performed out by the street on town property. They also seal coated the new asphalt against industry standards which now has not cured properly and is not hardened where it is sinking/scuffing in multiple areas where we cannot park our cars in the new large area which is a huge inconvenience. I have contacted the office and salesman countless times and have been told constantly they will contact me the same day to schedule to fix the work properly. They still owe me a seal coat they are refusing to schedule that i paid for already. They came to sealcoat late October last year once they tended to every other customer and it was too cold to dry where it all washed away. I was told at that time they would redo it this year but are now not willing to come back. This is the 3rd season since hiring this company and has been an aweful experience where i feel ripped off and taken advantage of. I recently filed a BBB complaint and am in the process of printing all my phone records, emails, and am filing with the state licensing board to request a hearing. Never thought I would have to hire another contractor out of pocket because they refuse to come back.

I had to give a star because zero wasnt an option. They ghosted us. Screwed up a job and misled throughout the process. Avoid at all costs

Such poor communication and scheduling. I've wasted multiple vacation days waiting for them. I would not recommend them at all.

Niemar from Nick's Pro Painting responded 10 minutes after the request was submitted and agreed to…read morean appointment 2 days later. He was available the next day, but I wasn't. He arrived 15 minutes early after confirming the appointment time 1 hour beforehand. He was professional, took the time to drive to Worcester, and provided a free estimate. Even though he was not hired, which is reflected in the raiting and the following explained experience, Nick's Pro Painting does deserve positive acknowledgement for this paragraph. This is a specialty job requiring detailed workmanship to strip and match stain as close as possible that two different contractors destroyed (after being asked NOT to paint/stain). One room has four different color stains, paint smeared on woodwork, doors that don't match their door frames, and a new expensive barn door with dried stain running down it. My initial request included pictures and explained that this job was mainly to sand, strip stain, and match woodwork as close as possible. All respondents were aware upfront. This task is able to be accomplished because a professional painter had already performed some of the work before becoming unavailable. It was disappointing to hear Niemar, a professional painter, recommend to just paint everything white. This, after one painter already completed some of the work, a second painter the previous week said he could do it, and a contractor yesterday said he could do it. I, myself, could just slap white paint on the woodwork if that's what I wanted, losing the higher quality wood in the process. 1"x 4ft pieces are painted white, not oak baseboards and carved moulding. This is a two-story house, so while the second floor would have beautiful matched stain, MOST (not all) of the first floor rooms would have white, painted trim. While that is the standard nowadays, this city house on a dead-end street has trees and nature on two sides, plus deer/wild turkeys/bunnies that pass by. The interior woodwork is a reflection of the ever disappearing nature outside. The desired end result is for beauty and consistency. This was my deceased mother's house, to be listed for sale in spring 2025. With a 5 rating I think I had higher expectations than a lazy suggestion. Additionally, the brief, interim owner after my mother died, is a Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker-Worcester Branch, who flips houses (I'd run from her and them!) She had the nice vinyl siding painted, which is now peeling and cracking after only 16 months! Niemar said he couldn't touch it up without having the exact brand and color paint used. This was surprising to hear since ROOFERS were able to replace some cracked siding (my mother kept extra of the original, unpainted siding) and they painted it to match by bringing a scraped piece of paint to Home Depot and having exterior paint tinted to the sample. The type of paint was recommended by the initial, professional painter, who painted the entire interior and was capable of correcting the mis-matched stain nightmare unnecessarily created by incompetent contractors who refuse to listen. My impression is that, because the project is a tedious, detailed labor of love honoring my mother's memory and for the next family, Niemar just didn't want to do it. Which is fine of course, but it might be better in future to say something to the effect of, "While I'd like to help, this project is going to be a little too time-consuming to fit in with other jobs we currently have," rather than what he actually said, which was, "It will have to be sanded. There will be dust. I can't do it." It would have been better if, after seeing the request/pictures and knowing what was being asked before contacting me, that the response was, "Unfortunately, Nick's Pro is unavailable." Coming to see the house when unable to perform the job was just a waste of time for both of us.
