Horrible and stressful experience! In August 2025, I hired Asphalt Engineering to sealcoat my…read moredriveway based on a written quote specifying squeegee application only, but the work was spray-applied and did not cure properly. The crew instructed me to wait four days instead of the 48 hours in the contract. On day five, tire marks appeared immediately after using the driveway and the crew left puddles of sealcoat material along the edges of the whole driveway. I documented the condition with photographs taken in August, November and January 2026. It has gotten progressively worse. My attempts to have the issues corrected were unsuccessful so I withheld payment. Instead of correcting their work and honoring their warranty, the Company decided to take me to small claims court. I later learned that the company had several similar disputes filed by other customers on the same day. Anyone considering their services should carefully read reviews and document all contract details before hiring. Yes, thank you for proving my point. Even though the Court decided in your Company's favor and required that I pay the debt, the fact still remains that the workmanship was horrible and that Asphalt Engineering does NOT stand behind their work nor honor their warranty! Asphalt Engineering replaced our driveway, which was 27 years old and in need of replacement. We…read morehad drainage issues with a downhill driveway, gutter downspouts draining alongside the garage doors, and a lot of cracks, sinking areas, and bumps. From the start, Asphalt Engineering is professional. The estimator was pleasant, took his time, and provided 2 options with detailed PDFs explaining the work and pricing. We had a catch basin installed with a drain pipe across the back yard. Every part of the process the crew was as neat as they could be, even when digging up a line across the width of the back yard. The pavement came out beautiful, and in a recent rain storm the drain works exactly as designed. Some of the other estimates suggested we did not need a drain, in spite of having a big puddle that has formed since we have lived here (12+ years) when it rains or when snow melts. The team is responsive to phone calls and emails, and worked with me to ensure I could have my landscaper address repairing the back yard with the binder coat in place and before the finish coat. I would hire them again.

The eating area was fine with 4 windows, but the single window in the kitchen kept it too dark. Rick came in and spent 2 hours going through the details of what we were looking for. His proposal was very detailed, outlining all of the work to be done and the cost of each task. He was flexible and worked with us to bring the project into our budgetary constraints. He was also flexible in using vendors we wanted to use. We had already selected Granite and tile from different companies so he worked with them to schedule the project. He also spent hours hunting down 2 doors that would match the existing door design rather than having us change all of our cabinet doors. Truly above and beyond, and this was just on the bidding process. This made selecting him easy because we already knew how detail oriented he is. When the job started, we encountered our first problem - the upstairs waste pipes would prevent our initial design for above the cabinets. Rick worked with us and came up with a design that not only handled the waste pipes, but looks terrific now that the kitchen is done. Due to factors outside his control, the project was delayed while we waited for a vendor to replace a piece of cabinetry that came in the wrong color. Rick worked around the issue to keep the project as close to on time as possible, and apologized for the delay even though it was the vendor that was delaying the project. Overall, the project came in only a week late. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful as our friends and family feel it came right out of a magazine. Everything in the kitchen is done right, down to the handles. My wife recently commented how Rick spent the entire day measuring and remeasuring before drilling and installing the handles on the cabinets. He made sure every handle is aligned correctly. We absolutely love the work Rick did for us, and we will be bringing him back for our Master Bathroom. He is so easy to work with, dependable, detailed oriented, and flexible. He is the type of person you want doing your renovation.
