The wait was surprisingly short. My girl, little girl, and I had breakfast there out of a random pick. They played 2000 to mid 2000s alternative music. It's a really chill atmosphere. Now on to the service. The service was wonderful and helpful with the suggie. Our waitress was brilliant and made the experience wonderful. Finally the food...the better Loco Moco I've had in a REALLY long time. Ir was perfect. Needed a little hot sauce, but that's a me thing lol. So overall it's a must try and if your experience isn't the same that is ok...don't be afraid to try it again. read more

I have been to this amazing breakfast establishment on a couple occasions and not once was I let down! Yes it is a quaint and small establishment but believe me, if your stuck waiting for a seat it's well worth your time to waite it out! Service here is super friendly and employees genuinely look excited to serve the guests. Not a single complaint on speed of service nor the attentiveness of the crew at Hash! Not a whole Lot going on with the Drink menu, mostly just the basics of juice, coffee and soda pop. However if your into spins on mimosas they have you covered in that department. I chose the fresh squeezed grapefruit one and found it quite refreshing. They have many more spins including the conventional mimosa as well as beer, wine and sangria. As for the food, well its definitely made from scratch and with a lot of attention to quality. I've had the pleasure of trying a few of the items but I'll spare you the run down and just give you my top two so far! My top menu item is the Mojado Burrito! Large and by large I do mean a gigantic wheat tortilla packed with fluffy scrambled eggs, a lightly smoked ham, green chilies, refried beans, yukon gold potatoes and smoked gouda. a perfect blend and balance of ingredients. To top off this already amazing culinary delight they go and make it even better by drowning it the most delicate and velvety jalapeno hollandaise!! Do not let the word jalapeno scare you off, this is by no means outrageously hot, it is in fact a well balanced hollandaise with just a small little kick at the end!! The second item on the menu I highly enjoyed would be their spin on the traditional Eggs Benedict!! The Grilled Avacado Benedict is light and refreshing!! Very slightly grilled avocado, poached eggs to absolute perfection and a basil pesto hollandaise that has a great balance and depth to it! Comes with traditional breakfast potatoes with just enough onions and peppers to not overtake the dish!! Again I have had a few other items like the chicken fried steak and the applewood smoked ham and gouda omelet all of which are worthy of indulging in!! To say I'll be back to dive deeper into the menu and experience here is an understatement!! Like I said earlier, do your self a culinary favour and wait in line if you must, you wont regret it!! One word: meh. Good reviews, and an apparent connection to the generally excellent West Side Tavern drew me and my companions in 3 different times over the last few months. Each time was a disappointment. Bland, gelatinous flavorless bacon gravy (supposedly a specialty of theirs) sausage gravy with no trace of sausage, dense dry biscuits, poorly cooked eggs, lack of seasoning across the board. We've sampled almost all the standard breakfast fare and not been pleased even once. The breakfast options are pretty thin in Oly, which shows through the positive reviews of this less than mediocre joint, and the weekend lines to get in. There has to be a better option!? read more

We were meeting friends for breakfast outside of our area, so I turned to Yelp for a good recommendation. And I'm so glad I did! This place had such a fun menu, and the food was delicious. I had the Benedictos rancheros and was pleasantly surprised by the unique flavors that just worked so well together. The jalapeno hollandaise was the perfect level of spice (I'm a bit of a wimp) and flavor. The potatoes on the side we're also great. My husband got the orange chicken and waffles, which seemed like an odd combination but it worked perfectly. Our friends had the loco Moco (with potatoes instead of rice) and the vegetarian Benedict (forgot the name) that had a HUGE chunk of avocado. It was so pretty! And of course the cornbread and marionberry spread was great! Will definitely come again, despite the hour drive. I couldn't give it 5 stars for a few small reasons. The service was pretty slow, although it wasn't because the waiters weren't working hard and doing their best. They did happen to forget to bring us cornbread until I asked for it, but when it came it was nice and warm and I couldn't be mad. They had the water on the table in one of those vase-like-things, which is fine, but it was never refilled and I would have liked more water for sure. It also wasn't cold, which is how I would have preferred it. One weird thing is that when our friend ordered his loco Moco, he asked if he could get hashbrowns instead of the rice, and they said that they can't sub hashbrowns for anything on the menu (even though their name is hash--her words) so he had to get potatoes instead. She was very polite about it and explained their reason (not enough grill space) and apologized, but still. Even with all those little things, we were all extremely happy with our food! They've got a great menu, and it took me a while to choose what I wanted to order. You get complimentary cornbread to start with some Marionberry spread. Meh. I wanted to like this place, but we left pretty underwhelmed. I had the Alaskan smoked salmon hash. It came with very underdone shoestring potatoes. They were cooked through but literally white--no brown at all. My husband's Portuguese sausage scramble had some of the same potatoes, while also including cubed potatoes that were brown. Just...why. My hash was also missing the pesto, and had very little smoked salmon. At $17, it just tasted very bland. I didn't finish it. The coffee was pretty weak as well. The cornbread, biscuit and English muffin were good but at $50+ for two people, we'll likely try somewhere else next time. read more

I pass by Hash often going to and from downtown. I usually see a few people waiting outside. Usually it's a good sign if people are waiting outside a place. It often means people feel the food is worth the wait. It's been awhile since it opened so I assumed that was the reason for the waiting people and not due to new place curiosity, so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. Our wait wasn't al that long. There were a few groups ahead of us but some tables cleared and we only waited maybe 5-10mins. The waitress was a bit absentminded, she forgot the honey I asked for to go with my tea and I had to ask again and we didn't get any water for the table, when everyone else got it when they sat down. The food made up for it. We got cornbread for the table with Marionberry butter which is a pleasant yet quirky addition. I ordered the half order of biscuits and gravy and my boyfriend order one of the breakfast sandwiches. The biscuit was big and fluffy and moist And the gravy was excellent. So I recently moved to west Olympia been super excited to support a local business and to have a routine place to go to since I'm only couple blocks away. However my experience left me never wanting to come here again. I was on a wait list to get seating so my spouse and I wanted to get coffee during our wait. We grabbed a latte to share. When we got back we waited a bit and was called We had about half of a latte and was told that we couldn't be seated because of latte from Olympia coffee roasters. Stated it was because of liquor control board. I guess the state is regulating coffee intake now. No solutions just get out. I've worked in restaurants business for a number of years while going in the medical profession and lucky never worked for business that rude. The silver lining in this experience is I'm a good cook so instead of going here I will cook from home and save a ton over the course of the year. When friends and family come I will take them to "our table" or "new moon" where I've always had good experiences. read more

Terrible service. We were greeted by two inexperienced teenagers who were rude and know nothing about customer service. I have heard reports that there are racial insensitivities displayed here with former customers, and I usually don't buy into this.
