We had my mom's 88th birthday lunch at Harvey's. This is basically fine dining for this area, so mom was very excited about it. We had more than 20 people so I made group reservation and signed their contract about 2 months in advance. Relatively easy process although when I called about a month later they had not yet acknowledged the reservation which I had emailed per their instructions. Be forewarned they require a $150 deposit which they do not credit to your final bill unless 90% of your party is there within 15 mins of the reservation, and 90% of the the people show up. All explained in the contract, but I was still surprised when they did not credit the deposit to my $700 bill. How do you make 80-90 year old women show up within 15 mins of the appointed time? Also 4 people did not show up so I missed the 90% mark. Anyway the food was very good. No complaints at all. The servers handled our large party of 22 people skillfully and professionally. I'm still salty about them keeping the deposit. So I probably will not return as I think that could have been handled better from a customer service perspective. Like allowing me to order 4 entrees to take home, to make up the difference for the no-shows.

Harvey's in Columbus, MS, has been a staple in the community since its establishment in 1982. Known for its casual atmosphere and welcoming service, it has developed a loyal customer base over the decades. Harvey's menu includes a variety of options ranging from classic Southern comfort food to more contemporary dishes. Popular items are the blackened catfish over grits and the 48 hour marinated ribeye. Also make sure you get an appetizer either the fried mushrooms or homemade cheese sticks are always a winner. The service is one of the things they are known for. I promise you the manager will come up and check if any problems you are having and promptly exit or fix any issues you may have, Harvey's is praised for its consistency in food quality and service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a spot worth visiting for a taste of Columbus's culinary scene.

Came for graduation dinner, our server Anna was on point. Food was amazing, as an in-the-biz manager, can't say enough good things about this place! Give them a try!

Hostess did a great job and was very personable. Our waiter was ok. We both ordered a beer and both hade the prime rib as it is their specialty. We had to ask for horseradish which I thought would come with a prime rib plate. The horseradish helped the taste of the meat. It was pretty good for the price. We left full. If I went back, I would try somthing different..

Lane was our server and he was so great!!!! He was friendly, funny, a great time. The drinks were made correctly, they were good. The broccoli bites were yum as promised, and the dessert was pretty good too! I got the butter cake with peaches and strawberries. The kitchen overdid it with the strawberry sauce, but it was still good

One of the best shrimp and grits I have eaten, next to the one from Flavor Rich in Suwanee, GA. I grew up in Brooksville, MS, and I go there about 3 times a year. As often as I come home, I try to go to Huck's Place. I am always well pleased. Huck's Place food can compare with any restaurant that I have dined at in the ATL Metro and DC Metro area!

My only complaint with the food is that the sauces can be a little overwhelming for my taste, so I usually request them on the side. I've always loved the majority of the staff and have had great experiences with them. Unfortunately, my experience at the bar last night was very different. I sat at the bar, ordered a water, and was given a menu. About 15 minutes later, the bartender asked if I wanted something else to drink, but never asked if I wanted to order food. A gentleman sat down to my left after I had already been there for quite a while. I watched him order a cocktail, order his food, eat his entire meal, and still hadn't been asked if I wanted anything to eat. I'm not one to complain, but that level of inattentiveness was hard to overlook. I'll definitely continue to give Huck's a chance because I enjoy the food and most of the staff, but I hope the bar service was just an off night.

Our waitress took our drink order from a short beer list (and Pepsi products), and we ordered an appetizer of Fried Mushrooms. She quickly delivered our Bud Lights and said "let me know if you have any questions and when you're ready to order dinner." That was nice because there was no rush and we would have time to eat some of our appetizer before the entrees arrived. My wife loves catfish, and she ordered two fried filets, a baked potato, and because she's crazy, subbed out her salad bar trip for a side of fried okra - which you are able to do without charge. I opted for the small ribeye with a side of steak fries and the salad bar (one trip). As soon as you order, you can hit the salad bar, which I did. The only lettuce offered was chopped iceberg lettuce, but they did have a pretty good assortment of additional toppings/salads (macaroni, potato, slaw)/cheeses/pickles. There is a giant vat of ranch dressing and a couple bottles of other dressing options. The fried mushrooms came out hot, juicy and with a side of ranch. They were $7.95, but worth it due to the large quantity and taste. My wife's catfish came out pretty lightly breaded with cornmeal and pretty tasty for catfish. Her baked potato was steaming hot and served with a container of butter and tube of sour cream. The fried okra was fried okra (you either like that stuff or you don't). She also got two hush puppies, which were crispy and flavorful but just a bit doughy. My small ribeye came out, and looked great. I ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Nice grill marks and some charring on the steak, and very juicy. Very well executed. The steak fries were pretty good, and I asked for some Heinz 57 to eat with them (not for the steak). Definitely recommend this place if you're in Columbus, and we'll definitely return when we come back this way.

I asked for the wifi password so we could check the score, but was informed that they do not share their wifi password. I told the waitress I was having a hard time deciding because I was quite particular about roast beef, I almost went with the turkey, but I felt reassured and ordered the French dip. The bread was amazing, the beef was pink and cold and I bit into a piece of fat I couldn't chew and had to spit it in my napkin. My lunch mate had the same sandwich but was pleased with hers. I told the waitress I didn't like it and she offered to cook it longer, I said no thank you, that I was just ready to get out of there, (we had quite a drive ahead of us and we couldn't keep up with the game.) The waitress mocked me out loud, "Oh she's just ready to get out of here". At that point I REALLY couldn't wait to get out of there. It is really sad when a restaurant has everything going for it, and a rude waitress ruins everything. She could have maybe offered the turkey since I didn't like the beef or discounted the ticket, but no just a childish smart remark.
