I've been here several times this year for emission testing on our vehicles. They have an efficient drive- through type system that works reasonably well. The line of cars can get lengthy so sometimes the wait can be long. I know they aren't making any money providing this service, and with fewer places doing this senseless state-mandated testing, I'm thankful that Hartland Service still does. read more

Based on emission test experience. So. Easy. I drove up, the nice lady explained everything, did the test and made it so I was all registered and legal. Took 10 minutes- tops. After living in big cities and having a full understanding of how much of a hassle this process can be- I am so appreciative that they make it easy!! read more

False advertising as a run flat tire installer. Strung me out for couple of weeks waiting for appointment only to call me on the day I dropped off the vehicle that they are scared to install run flats without damaging the wheels. I was clear they were run flat during making the appointment they even confirmed they had the right machine to install them. All in all, I am glad they called before doing the deed, but if you're scared doing these kind of installations why are you advertising it as such. Not very friendly and apologetic either. The attitude was "I don't want to get into an argument with you, just take your car back". I so wanted to make it work because I value supporting a local business especially a family owned one but I am forced to give my money to a dealer. You just can't win in this business as a consumer. I am still hoping to find a good mechanic that can take care of me for the long haul. No joy here :( read more

I was sent to Hartland Service after stopping at a local gas station needing to fill my low tire. I was told they may even fill my tire for me. I went there only planning to get air in my tire. I walked in and was greeted by Nick. I asked if I could get air in my tire and he didn't hesitate and said he'd take care of it for me. Minutes later, he came back in asking how far I had to go to get home. I explained that I had a half hour drive. He said he didn't feel comfortable with me driving that far, as he heard air coming from the tire after he filled it. He said they could patch my tire and it wouldn't be too expensive. I asked if they even had time to do that, as they seemed pretty busy. He checked with his team and said they would get it in right away. Less then 30 minutes later my tire was fixed!!!! While in the waiting room, I overheard another front desk staff talking with a customer on the phone in regards to a vehicle they were working on. The staff person explained to the customer that they were unable to determine exactly what was causing the issue for the car and didn't think it was fair to the customer to continue to invest their money into the car if it was not a for sure resolution. I was shocked, most garages will encourage you to keep spending money to fix your car, as it will just increase their profits. It is apparent that they genuinely care about their customers and would rather not do unnecessary work just to build their profits. I am just so impressed with the integrity of the work, staff, and efficiency of services rendered. I would strongly recommend anyone in the area to utilize them for their car needs. I spent a few years and a few vehicles coming to Hartland Service before I learned my lesson. If you do not have a fancy new car or a ton of money to spend - don't come here. I came to them when my car sprang a fuel leak due to rust on an older car. I am a single working mother who needed her car fixed fast so I could get my child to school on Monday. What I received was the brush-off. They made it abundantly clear that they had no desire to do anything to my car, in fact they flat-out told me to "spend 10k and get a new one". My car has always run and driven fine. I have had it serviced over the years for little things that go wrong with older cars like leaks, brakes etc. I suppose if I had a nice classic car that had a rusty fuel line leak I would have been treated with more respect. Instead, they threw a huge number at me to fix my car to scare me away because frankly - they did not want my business. This is further evidenced by the auto shop that is fixing my car as we speak for LESS THAN ONE THIRD the cost of the price that Hartland Service quoted me. This service station's staff was arrogant, disrespectful, and pushed my years of loyal business out the door; along with everyone I know or am related to as I will be spreading the word about the horrible treatment I received. read more

Prior to sending our son and his 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagon to U of Az in Tucson, Hartland Service repaired the AC by replacing the compressor. In route to Tucson, as we crossed the OK border, the AC quit. We pulled over and popped the hood to confirm the compressor was done. While we were not pleased to have another 18 hours of driving in 90+ deg weather, we were wildly pleased with the support John provided. He advised we get the car into a VW dealer, and first helped set up a repair where we planned to spend the night. After we decided in route repair wouldn't fit our schedule, John helped set up repair in Tucson. He worked with the VW dealer service advisor, insured that all parts damaged by the compressor failure were replaced, and Hartland Service paid the entire bill, all parts, AND labor. Hartland Service does great work, stands behind their work with support, and doesn't over commit or over repair. While it is easy for me to say all my repairs in SE Wisconsin will go to Hartland Service, the VW Service Advisor in Tucson was so impressed with John's support of his customers that she shared that whenever she has a customer in the area needing work, she is sending them to Harland Service rather than recommending the local VW dealer. read more
