Harry first erected scaffolding for us to assist Rich Air install AC on a landmarked brownstone, 4 stories high. We were so impressed with his service and the extreme care of our home while his crew carried the scaffolding thru our kitchen and into the backyard, we remembered him when our general contractor a few years later went radio silent on us. Now Harry is the only contractor we will use, and he covers everything from general maintenance to architectural and engineering upgrades and improvements, including having one of the best architects we have ever hired, even winning approval on appeal to the Landmarks Commission for the alteration/improvement of our property with a period wrought iron fence installed across the front of our lot. It's important to say that Harry is not only very professional, but he is also easy to work with in terms of his respect for and treatment of women. I have never felt condescension or any of the usual manspeak coming from him. He has a wonderful sense of humor and design, and can be easily engaged with to bring to fruition ideas from an aesthetic that is truly unique in a general contractor. Harry is also a skilled carpenter, and his employees are also well supervised and skilled. Their work is remarkably well-done, beautifully installed or built, painted, finished, and so on. And last but not least, they can caulk a beautiful, smooth seam without ridges or chunks of smeared caulk all over the place. He quoted me a fair price for what I wanted done. I was very impressed that Harry didn't just supervise the job but in fact did most of the work himself. I found Harry's Contracting on Yelp and after reviewing what people had to say, I decided to set up a meeting and see what he was about. I had an outdated bathroom which needed a lot of work. He was prompt and very knowledgeable. He made me feel very comfortable by being very detailed discussing the work that would take place. I undertook a full gut reno of a multi-family home into a single home. I experienced the horror during the initial reno that gives construction and contractors a bad name with multiple, irresponsible and sheisty contractors and their vendors. Plus they all did a poor job. We engaged Harry to help us complete our renovation and get sign off by the DOB. Harry, his team, and vendors were professional and did great work to get us signed off. Harry and his team managed budget and timelines, VERY responsive, responsible, and considerate in my home. His team coordinated all the vendors, including an expeditor and my architect. It is as good as it gets. Harry is honest, organized and has kept my home clean during construction which included refurbishing two bathrooms, painting multiple rooms and reorganizing a difficult electrical situation. Everyone on the team was punctual, polite took pride in their work and were happy to complete a job at the highest level. His supervisor, Pete has a photogenic memory and notes everything that may need some work in your home and will point it out to you. I had some minor work that needed to be done after a tenant moved out. I contacted Harry and had him install a base molding along the wall and replace some closet door hinges that snapped almost causing my door to fall completely off. Harry's Contracting helped install a two-zone Mitsubishi Ductless unit, which involved removing the old PTAC unit and rebuilding the outside wall of the apartment, cutting open the dry wall to pass the pipes, closing and painting, From the initial contact with the office, to the all the work done, everyone on the team was responsive, professional, on time. The work is of highest quality. We had to make some alteration of the plan because of the other company involved, which required opening of the dry wall which was just rebuilt.
