I know they watch pretty good over cameras to take care of any rough behavior that we experienced the first time with a kid that was probably right on the cusp of being too old. Second time was nice with all 1-2 year olds and they can run, climb and crawl. You have to pay 1$ to get in for a family of 4 and the times vary so check the website ahead of time. This summer 2026 they are moving the time to start at 12 noon and ending some time later in the afternoon, probably due to summer camp type usage of the room. I would definitely take my son back here it is a good time. This building has lots of other uses like pickelball, tennis, and other activities.

It is one of few Anchorage event facilities available to rent, that can hold over 150 people. Parking is ample and the building is secluded enough from neighboring homes. The facility includes a coffee shop/cafe area that you can choose to be open during your event. The facility kitchen is large and open. You have the ability to choose what spaces you want to rent, with the largest space being the gym. If your event has alcohol you will be required to rent the facility as a whole. I like that all rental information to include costs, deposits, etc is laid out clearly online. You will not need to contact anyone directly until you are ready. I believe they even have bouncy houses available to rent. Like most facilities, they have staff there watching. Sometimes they're cool, sometimes they're annoyingly saying the music is too loud when we in the crowd, can barely hear it. Gotta take the good with with the bad ya know?!

They also have certified personal trainers available for your use. Your initial session is free, and then your additional meetings are lower cost than most places around Anchorage. Need a message? This can also be your place. The facility is well kept and has multiple fitness rooms, a swimming pool, basketball courts, a boxing room, a spin room, racquetball courts, saunas and even a track upstairs. The best part though? This gym is free people, FREE. No cost, and offers plenty of machines, weights, space for your workout pleasure if you have access to it.

The Mountain View Community Center also borders the park where there is a size-able gazebo. There's a few different areas. An area with exercise equipment, a swing area, a playground for littles and a playground for biggies. We visited on a cloudy day so my kiddos got to enjoy it alone, for quite some time. I imagine on a nice day, this place is very busy.

It's not free. They pray a schedule simulated to the Mecca prayer schedule and feature pockets of attendees who pray upon the local alaskan time. The community are indiscriminate to who comes even to the point of allowing non-Muslims in for Islamic propaganda .

I put on a dress and nice shoes and did my hair. If you know anything about me you would know it's a big effort on my part. We get there and sit down and someone goes up to speak. He was talking religion and dawning horror overcame me. I looked at my friend and mouthed at her, you brought me to a Christian dance?! So what did I do? Like a proper person intoxicated in public I heckled the speaker. Why? He wanted to make an exclusionary dance with only young people invited. Yes, yes, I am that person. I had a great time dancing with young and old. I normally don't dance, but I would again. Especially, if I am properly lubricated. I would suggest traveling in packs and carry pepper spray, this place is in a sketchy area of town and it's not well lit.

Wow, what a great park! I had no idea it was even here!…read more This is located in Government Hill, across the bridge from downtown. I showed up here to shoot a cyclocross race that my friend was in. It was a beautiful day and a fantastic opportunity to exercise my photographic muscles! Since I was stuck in my viewfinder, preoccupied with folks on bikes, I didn't get a good look at everything the park has to offer. But, according to their website, here's what they got: Two tennis courts Basketball courts Curling (!?) clubhouse Square dance center Community Adopt-a-Garden Parking lot with 100 spaces Great views of the Chugach mountains from over here too, definitely check it out!

At first I thought this park wasn't even listed on Yelp. Which is insane, it's MASSIVE. Then I…read morerealized it was listed simply as "Russian Jack Springs", which makes it sound like a quaint Canadian hot springs in the mountains...(I've since submitted an edit, it should show up with "park" in the title now) It's not that. It is a shockingly great park. It's in an area of town where you wouldn't expect to find a park, and it's quite massive. It's got green houses you can tour, a hill for sledding, trails for hiking/running, and even a GOLF COURSE and CLUBHOUSE. Is it a bougie golf course and clubhouse? Of course not. But it's cheap and solid. Golf for the people! I got some BBQ from Smokehouse which is less than a mile away, ate in the park, then went for a short walk on the trails to burn off that brisket, and I was still back to work in time. Don't take Anchorage living for granted! I hope to come back in the winter to get on that sledding hill!

Is there an Alaskan Snow Snake? (see pic)…read more After the fresh snow, there are so many cool things to gander upon. And even though there is a fresh powder, the tracks are still visible and ready to be skied. I can only speak on the cross country ski trails here, but I've been super impressed with them. There is also a sledding hill, skate skiing area and a lodge style building that I've never seen open. I understand there are also community greenhouses on the property that you can check out. After three trips here and over two hours spent, I have yet to see the entire park. So much to explore, great for beginners, and well lit. For being so close to a major road, I'm amazed at how quiet and serene this place is. There's a private parking lot, off Lidia Selkregg Lane. I've never had a problem finding a spot. I think parking is free because I didn't see any fee stations.
