Wow I really Can't believe all the bad reviews on this place. It is a bit run down I will give it…read morethat; but it just needs some good ol' TLC prob would cure most of the problems they have. I have been going here since I was prob 9 y/o and I think a combination of lack of effort and also being the only place in anchorage for mini-golf has taken it's toll on the place. Take it from an avid mini golfer who has been on a pelthora of courses in fl and other states, this is a GOOD course. It has great character; and has much more interesting holes than most of the boring "typical" courses I saw in other states. I would mostly knock off points for lack of maintainence and the sometimes less than enthusiastic staff. I Personally never had a problem with the lighting but that could be me. I wouldn't say it's very bright. I will be going there again tommorow and afterwards I can revise this review a bit better. Though overall I would say this course is more intresting, entertaining, and more orginal than your average mini golf place. Knock one star off if unperfect lighting bothers you and for the lack of repairs. I'm a bit forgiving on the latter part.

Have been visiting since the 90's when I was a kid. Last week was the first time I took my little…read moreone and partner and it was depressing. The entire place was dirty and smelled strongly of mildew and mold. The bathroom was out of order. The front desk girl was very mellow and didn't show us were the balls, or clubs or tally sheets were. Thankfully it's all pretty up front. The place has not been vacuumed in forever. There were tons of bits of lint and small pieces of trash laying around the courses. The various holes in the walls haven't been patched in a decade and the walls hadn't been wiped down in a long time. There were beetles crawling on the floor and ancient spider webs in the corners of the holes with giant spiders in them. There are multiple holes in the rug and areas with torn up signs on the floor that say "Don't step here" and a few holes were out of commission. One area didn't have over head lights at all. The front desk girl spent her time playing pool with a friend and watching reels while sitting on the couch. It's a shame. This is a really cool space and fun mini golf area. They should spend a week cleaning and doing minor repairs. Drain the water and fill it with rocks and make some little Alaskan land scape in it's place with tiny moose and cabins and mountains. It really wouldn't take much to bring this place back to life and I hope someone does.

We paid for the polar bear experience which was a bit cooler than the average experience but just not as awesome as I hoped. Some cool other animals to see but overall just not that impressive. Also spending $40+ on a shirt at the gift shop was a bit much. But I'm still glad that I could say I visited here.

Oh where to begin.... I would like to preface this by saying any community members who ask…read morequestions about the most recent incident have been immediately blocked by the zoo. that is enough of a red flag but i shall explain more ref flags. there have been many instances of aggression from one animal towards the next and with warning signs that have been repeatedly ignored. Most of the aggression is with the bears unfortunately. We have all heard about the most recent event, where a very small, blind, and deaf female bear was placed into the enclosure with a much larger boar (male bear) during peak mating season. that was reckless and resulted in a bear fight, the boar ripping the females skin off of her back, and it took over 30 minutes for the staff to even get to the scene and begin to assess the situation. 30 minutes. the zoo is small why did it take thirty. minutes. mind you, the warning signs hours leading up to the event were noticed by the visitors for the bears unusually closed off and defensive behavior... but the staff didn't care. (picture included) The smaller bear, btw. was never around any other bears... so why the h.. would they throw the small solo non socialized bear with a huge male bear in peak mating season??? COME TF ON NOW DUDE. what an absolutely embarrassing and disgraceful way to represent our beautiful state. common sense says that's a bad idea, but whoever was in charge of the placement shares a brain cell with a rock. NEXT. in 2022 there was a polar bear and another species, i believe a grizzly, housed together. why would you put different species of bears together? especially the 2 most aggressive species.... they also got into a fight before separation. One bear had a pretty messed up bloody jaw and there was no closure to their habitat. The staff allowed their habitat to remain open despite the animals need for "peace and quiet" as well as no regards to the families and young children who came by seeing the poor bear (picture inserted below) NEXT. There were 2 more bears that were constantly on edge constantly fighting. it took MULTIPLE incidents for them to finally separate the bears for good. I could continue with more and more they've done (or didn't do) but i think we get the point. the zoo is a sad excuse for a zoo. they're volunteer based and not part of the AZA and clearly aren't trained properly and have no real knowledge on how to read wildlife behavior and have no intention on maintaining a SAFE and FRIENDLY environment, just money hungry individ

There's plenty of different areas for kids to explore, and jumping on the trampolines is fun. The staff is always friendly & helpful. Though there only ever seem to be 1-2 people working at a time & only at the front desk. No one is ever actually policing the park making sure people are following the rules. Maybe it's different during peak hours, but that seems generally unsafe. They just added a super cool obstacle course & slide area. Even adults can fit through it to supervise their kids: it's a really fun area, and the kids enjoy it. It's already extremely run down & it's only a few months old. I've watched it deteriorate from when it was new. The lack of rule following by patrons & lack of overall cleanliness makes this place extremely run down. After we leave here I always feel like we need to sanitize. No idea how parents are in here wearing their actual socks because it's gross. If they actually took the time to clean and care for the equipment this place would easily be 5 stars. What they're charging you'd think they'd be able to maintain it a little better at least in terms of cleaning. I understand the equipment is probably expensive to maintain. BUT if rules were enforced then the longevity of the equipment would also be preserved. Due to it being Alaska and a lack of competition it seems these types of businesses have no motivation to maintain standards.
