Wow! Would not recommend this business. Needed an estimate to tune up a lawnmower/go-kart engine. Just an estimate cost $40. They dismantled my engine. I just wanted a tune up. Filter oil spark plug. That sort of thing. But they dismantled my engine. Came back with an outrageous estimate I could buy a new engine for less. Again, just wanted a tuneup. I picked up the engine in a completely dismantled condition. Now I have no idea how to put it back together. I now have a paperweight. They want to charge me to get my engine put in the condition it was in when I brought it in. Please be careful if you use this company. There are others out there and these guys are out to take your money wherever they can. If it were possible to give no stars I would to express my displeasure. I have taken many different brands and kinds of equipment here over the last 25-30 years. From large Stihl Cutoff saws, to smaller Honda Generators. Never ever had any problems, My personal experience is Harrisons has always been Professional and did a great job. They saved me money more than once by using used parts from old leftover equipment. ( per my request ) Would you drive an extra 10 minutes for a great meal?....drive down Twin Oaks an extra 10 minutes and get your equipment fixed right. read more

Great shop and they did a very fast turnaround on my in need of TLC Honda mower. I literally took it in late Friday was good to go on Monday afternoon. They know how to fix anything seems like, my mower runs great even VP GAS used to start me off right. Will continue to come here for any equipment need and very easy parking too. They do request $40 up front then apply that to any needed parts and labor charges...very reasonable and certainly less than a brand new Honda Mower. I don't want any electrical garbage either. As for the customer service comments, the bottom line for me being in several customer services jobs (Nordstrom, Luxottica ) is honesty and getting it done while exceeding expectations is true customer service If people want everyone to smile and put on some show, let's face it some just don't and that's ok as long as they get the job done right the first time ..I appreciate their expertise and will pay for that expertise. Because lugging a backfiring Mower in is not that fun to be honest. Its a family run business. I can see where some people may be put off as I myself thought why not smile (doesn't cost anything) , but he does take time to fold the receipt and personally hand it to you a nice touch. I'll give 5 stars for honesty any day! I went in today because a thermal relief valve busted off in my pressure washer, and needed a professional to remove it and fix it. After explaining my options to me, the guy asked if there was anything else going on with it, and I said the choke stays on a lot of the time. He looked up prices on a new pump in case he couldn't get the other piece out, added labor into it, and was so honest by telling me that I'd be better off throwing it in the trash and starting over. He could've taken me for a ride on the repairs, but that's not the type of business they run. Good for them to be one of the last businesses that have a conscience. They don't kiss your butt when you go in there, but they aren't "dicks" or "asses" as stated in a review that I saw. I think by putting something like that on a review makes you look like the dick. If you want people to kiss your ass on the daily, become a congressman. read more

Only leaving 1 star because I got what I needed... Don't waste your time or money here, the guy that sits behind the desk is a dick, confirmed by multiple people who say the same thing. When 99% of your business is customers, you should try not to be an ass... Regardless of how polite and nice I was, the guy was rude, over and over. My experience: went there on two separate occasions. Not only did neither of the tools get repaired, I left feeling like I was to blame. "Bad gas"...? Using the same exact gas, all my other equipment runs just fine. "Cost as much to buy a new one..." While this may be acceptable advice...what if I really like my old equipment, and I don't really want to experiment with something new? The last time I was there they wanted to charge me $10 for a part and $15 for shipping. Found the part on Amazon for $8, free shipping, and fixed it myself. read more

Someone reviewed saying one of the people there was really rude. It's true that they're not professioinal sales and counter people and so being a bit lacking in patience sometimes would be accurate. I can say this because I've taken equipmnet there for repairs several times over the last 25 years and they are completely honest and really good at what they do and their prices are reasonable. I have a few experiences with these guys.... not sure why I went back this last time. First time I just left the blower when they said it would cost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one. The last time I had to pay an $80 deposit to cover the inspection/diagnosis for my rider mower. I had the valve cover off at home to adjust the valves and it took about 5 min to remove the cover and maybe 5 min to adjust the valves and put cover back on. Their sign at desk says $40 minimum charge and $80 an hour charge. All they had to do is remove the valve cover and determine that the valve was not operating correctly. That was it. When I cam in to pick it up after I was told the valve is not working right and it needs a new cam I was shocked when they told me it was an hour labor. They didn't even put the valve cover back on and tried to tell me it took an hour. I said isnt it the minimum charge for 1/2 hour and they insisted it was an hour to do the work. Terrible experience each time I went there for repairs. I have bought a belt and maybe one or two other things there and thought they were ok. Shame a family run business can not run it on the up n up. If I could I would give them a negative star. read more

The recoil starter rope broke on my Toro lawn mower. I thought luckily it was still under the extended warranty from Home Depot and took it to Harrison's for repair. Patty was very courteous, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. When Home Depot flaked on the warranty Harrison's would fix the lawn mower at a reasonable price. But, I had another dilemma. My wife was hosting a party that weekend and the lawn hadn't been mowed in over 2 weeks. I mentioned this to Patty and my lawn mower was ready the next day. read more

We were referred to this business by Sears, a mower under warranty had stopped working. Our first encounter with the repairman was him basically accusing us of not using 'fresh gas' in the mower, as a reason for nonoperation. We stated that the gas was not old, but purchased less than a week before. He shook his head in disbelief and again stated he was sure it was 'bad gasoline'. Not a friendly guy, or even courteous. An entire week elapsed after we dropped off the mower, no call to give us the status of the repair. When I called, was told by the woman answering that Sears had not yet authorized the repair and that I needed to call since 'they won't return my call, you need to call them yourself'. Once I jumped through that hoop , got the required authorization/claim number, reported it to Harrison Power receptionist. Another week goes by, still no call. I call and am told 'oh yeah, you can pick it up now'. Make the trip over, pick it up, get home---the thing DOESN'T START. We call them back and are told 'I don't know what the problem is, it worked for us'. Really awful customer service, item never did start (the mower was less than 90 days old to boot). As a consumer, I would expect better customer service, a more professional attitude. I would not ever recommend them to anyone. I'm being generous with one star read more
