The A-Gate Intelligent Controller that controls the system and the "Essential" sub-panel.
Dave G.

We decided to add battery backup to our solar panel array to protect us from the coming brownouts and blackouts caused by grid overload. Not Enough Power - Too Much Demand It isn't "IF" but when. I've done business with Luke Harrison at Harrison Electric in the past and they are always responsive, courteous and fair. Luke introduced me to a newer battery manufacture and after doing my due diligence of investigating Franklin Home Power, we closed the deal and I can be "off-grid" in a nano second if the need arises. I can run nearly every appliance, lights and plugs (minus A/C, electric cooktop and oven) for as long as it takes for Edison to turn back on the grid. Since I haven't had an electric bill in years, the cost for the backup is worth my peace of mind.

Terrible Company! Called midday to have them come out for a quote on electrical connection to water heater. I was told Steve would come by that day to quote the job. No show or no phone call. They called the next day at 2:06 pm to say someone would be out at 2:30pm. They did arrive exactly at 2:30pm. They were here about 20 mins they stripped down the wire and located circuit breaker . See picture of invoice . The charge was $250.00 with a senior citizen discount. $225.00 Seniors and women stay aware from this company. I'm telling all my friend & church to stay aware .

What was most impressive about him is that he helped us understand why some of the other projects we had in the pipeline really needed to happen first before we did solar. It was comprehensive and thorough, so when the time is right for doing solar, we're excited to work with them. I've already recommended them to a few friends.

I really appreciate the direct accountability and quick resolution. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency, but their prompt response today restored my confidence in their management. I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.

However,…read moreit's still about 4.8% below the minimum guaranteed production (accounting 0.25% maximum annual panel degradation). It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

Troy has been our main point of contact, and he's always incredibly responsive, responsible, and helpful throughout the entire process. He stays on top of everything, from permit applications to site visits and scheduling, and makes sure things move along smoothly. He's also very proactive about keeping us updated, which makes the whole process so much less stressful. We compared quotes from several solar companies, and 365 Solar Inc. offered by far the most competitive pricing. On top of that, Troy went above and beyond to help us save even more by looking into and applying for different rebate programs. It's rare to find a team that offers such great pricing without compromising on service. This is our second solar installation with Troy and his team, and both experiences have been excellent. It's always a pleasure working with them, and I would highly recommend 365 Solar Inc. to anyone considering solar!

Since the cleaning the panels have been much better performing especially after these past few weeks of misting and rain, about 25% higher output. I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. In mid-August our system stopped producing power. We didn't find out until our utility bill came in roughly $600 higher than normal. Since then, we've sent multiple emails and submitted a service request with no response. I finally reached someone by phone and, after escalating to a manager, they committed to sending a technician today at 4pm. No one showed up and no one called. When we call back, we sit on hold, get an auto response we're being transferred to customer support, and then the line goes silent before we are ultimately sent to a voicemail service. A 25-year installation warranty means nothing if the company won't answer the phone or show up. Every day our system is down costs us money. If you're considering OC Solar, ask hard questions about how they handle service after the sale. I'll update this review if they make it right.

They were always available to answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with our electricians whenever something came up. Because they knew our system inside and out, they were able to jump in quickly and help keep the project on track. Having that history with our home made a huge difference, and their professionalism and responsiveness took a lot of stress out of what was otherwise a complicated project -- all without having to break the bank. They are extremely fair with their pricing. It's one thing to do a good installation, but it's another to still be supporting your customers more than a decade later. That kind of long-term service is hard to find these days, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything Alan and Solar Wholesale Group have done for us. Highly recommend.

I agreed to purchase the panels however, discussed my concerns with him prior to.The building on the southern part of our house has a tree growing and there was a strong likelihood of it blocking the panels as well as living by the freeway with constant dust. Alan said working around this wouldnt be a problem and then discussed a plan where the panels were to be placed, however this was not adhered to. I again referenced my concern with the tree blocking the panels and was told it would be fine. I subsequently received my bill and there was no measureable change to the amount. I was dismissed and further told to be patient, and it will go down eventually. I was additionally advised to continue sending in my bill. Six months have passed with no change whatsoever. Alan has then backtracked on his earlier assertion stating the trees blocking the panels are what's causing low production. During this entire time of my paying for solar panels,my bill has remained the same with some months at a noticeable increase. He reached out to Tesla to ask for the tree to be trimmed and nothing happened. Trying to reach Alan has been an issue as well because each time, I've gotten a response stating I will call you back, he is sick on vacation, or not available. This has been well over a year of back and forth and suffice to say it has been exhausting, stressful and counterproductive. I was offered a 3 panel installation free of charge, and a discount for extra panels in exchange for a good review. I was then lied to again by him stating it is enough to cover the energy production. If this is the case, how can it cover the energy production if my bill was not even changed with the previous panels? He apparently is so confident that 10 panels were enoug, he said he would refund me if it doesn't reach the promised energy production. This is not what happened in the slightest and I do not appreciate being disrespected and dismissed as though my business means nothing. This entire situation has given me so much undeserved anxiety and I deeply regret this purchase.
