Absolute horrible customer service experience with the GM. Ongoing issue with collection of payment…read morefor dues. GM accused me of having insufficient funds, repeatedly, only to find he and his entire staff were improperly entering payment information into their system. I was advised this was a 'training' issue by an Accounting person at a separate branch. Additionally, the GM 'Mozzy' is extremely condescending and patronizing in conversation. He prides himself on his own perceived intellect and superiority, to the point of delusion. I attempted to troubleshoot THEIR issues with payment processing for 2+months only to be talked down to and treated as ignorant. I spoke with Mozzy on several occasions to try and fix the payment issue only for him to explain to me (after incorrectly collecting payment and denying us entry to the facilities) that he deals with this issue "100's of times each week" and can't recall talking to me. If an issue like this is recurring "100's of times each week" maybe there's an internal issue??? Maybe YOU and your team aren't doing something properly?? Lastly, my son (24) went in to discuss the situation with Mozzy after I was advised (again) everything had been settled, only for Mozzy to begin an argument with my son. The best part, Mozzys staff called to apologize to me for how disrespectful and rude he was to my son. WOW! I guess I'm not the only one who sees this guy is on a power trip?! This guy Mozzy's confidence in his abilities far exceeds his actual skill and comprehension. This establishment should be ashamed to use members dues to employ such an incompetent disrespectful person. If Mozzy is too smart and too capable to be bothered with paying customers, he should do himself a favor and find somewhere else to work that values his self-perceived superior intellect. Clearly Tacomans are too ignorant and undeserving of common respect or curtesy. Additionally, I would like to mention the staff member who called noted she was in fear of 'getting in trouble' but wanted to let me know personally how sorry she was for how we were being treated. How sad for the staff at this location to have to work under this authoritarian. Lastly, this Mozzy character felt it was necessary to let me know he is 'former' law enforcement. Knowing now what I do about how my sons were treated (both threatened with being trespassed and one being threatened with being banned) I now understand why he mentioned this - it's an intimidation tactic. Mozzy is on a severe power trip and thinks he can bully people he sees as inferior. For the record, we have been members of this gym for 4 years with ZERO previous issues. I am sickened at the way my sons have been treated. If LA bothers responding, it better not be 'Mozzy'. My son went in to file a formal complaint today and was advised by Mozzy that he was the one to take the complaint (which was against himself). For being a former law enforcement officer, I'm surprised this guy is unfamiliar with the term 'conflict of interest'. In the same conversation he threatened to have my son banned and told him that 'he could leave' if he didn't like the way he was being treated. This behavior is a severe abuse of authority and power. To feel the need to mention to gym members that you are a former cop signals a bigger issue and concern. This guy is a major LIABILITY. Gross. I am formally requesting contact information for the regional manager of the LA Fitness - 72nd location. I want a formal complaint filed and taken seriously.

In 2012 I desperately needed a new outlet for stress, and an activity or hobby that I could do on…read moremy own. I was slightly firmilar with pole fitness and thought it would be fun to try out. I called The Toy Box and the spoke with the owner. She invited me to the studio the following week to try out a class & ask all the questions I needed. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who instructs all the classes. The other women in the class greeted me too, and they all were encouraging and welcoming. The prices for classes were affordable. I signed up for 4 classes a month (once a week). That was 2 years ago and I still look forward to going to my weekly class at the Toy Box. You can sign up for multiple classes a week. The studio does not have windows and is private. Students are on their own pole for the whole hour. Classes are limted to 7 students Due to small classes the instructor is able to provide one on one instruction. Classes focus on teaching the sport of pole dance with a focus on acrobatics on a verticle pole. Individual instruction is given based on a students level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The instructor and other students are encouraging. The other women in the classes are fun supportive and at times silly. I had hardly no upper body strength and absolutely no formal dance or gynamstic ability when I walked into the studio my first day. The instructor started me with the basics, gave me tips on what I was doing in error and making moves more difficult for myself, and encouraged me. Through pole fitness I gained muscle tone, strenght, flexibility, confidence (it feels incredible when you are able to master a challenging move and do combos). I also gained friends and a sense of empowerment. The studio has offered special event workshops that are in addition to classes for students who are interested. These workshops are at the Toy Box and hosted by Pole Fitness Champions. The most recent being Veronica Solimano and Natasha Wang (have you youtubed these women, wow!). The classes here are great for anyone who wants to learn pole fitness, improve skills they may already have and be in a supportive fun enviornment.
