I've been shopping this HT since it opened. Close to home, which is simply geography however, the associates are always helpful/friendly. I typically do self check out but had a couple of 5 gal. Deer Park water exchanges. Uncertain if they can be handled at self checkout but, I'm getting older and I have a few frayed edges in my head. I had Logan check me out and...what a breath of fresh air. I mean others there are too but, I usually do self check as mentioned. I don't have children and I'm an ex-NY cop. I'm not your mainstream retired NY cop. I worked on Long Island. A different breed if you will. Anyway, Logan initiated conversation when he saw my "PD" hat. He was a pleasure to speake with, moved through my order expeditiously and put a smile on my face which is a rarity (over the past decade). A smile on my face is almost non-existent. This woman Toni is super rude. A couple of my coworkers and I decided to get a sandwich from Harris Teeter. I have a hard time seeing. Even the menu you guys have. So I had to guess what you had. I apologize for my bad vision. Toni was nasty the whole time making my sandwich. Toni was slamming the sandwich around while making it and just the way they were making it felt like we were inconveniencing them. I will no longer stop there for a sandwich I'll dry the extra mile for Subway if I am going to be treated this way. I had to apologize to my other coworker because her sandwich looked awful when I brought it to her. If Toni doesn't like their job, maybe they should find a new one. read more

This HT used to be my primary one until the one in Red Mill opened a few years ago so I have shopped here many many times in the past and I like the location. It is located across the street from the Virginia Beach Municipal complex and there is plenty of parking in the lot, there are gas pumps nearby, there is a Taylor's Do It Yourself and there are a few restaurants so it's a one and done for most things you need while running errands. Inside there is a nice produce section with a blend of fresh produce and organic items. Nice bakery items and flowers for quick gifts. They have higher prices than most places (aside from Fresh Market) but a nice selection and it's never crowded with super long lines so I pay the extra. read more

This Harris Teeter is located close to city hall and other municipal centers. There's a wine aisle, which caters to the more high end customer. There's also a pizza counter for take out. It's a supermarket that's jammed packed with items in narrower aisles and taller shelves. There's also a pharmacy. read more

I was overly disappointed in the sub I ordered for lunch,I bit into it and all I tasted was bread ( unfortunately the bread wasn't the freshest either ). I had to look at the sub to locate any type of meat, it was supposed to be a Turkey sub. My first choice was grilled chicken breast but I looked over and noticed there was a guy trying to troubleshoot the oven ( I had to ask if the oven was working otherwise the kid wouldn't had said anything, who wants a cold grilled chicken breast sub? Not me)!!.. That's when I decided to get the chicken breast cold cut cold sub and I was disgusted in what I received, I don't want to pay for a bread sandwich because that's not what I ordered! This is the second time I experienced this treatment just not at this particular location. I will definitely return but I wouldn't suggest anyone order any cold cut subs, unless you prefer light meat on your sub! For a first visit impressed, especially with Kroger's take over this Spring. I've always held Harris Teeter in high regard, but too pricey to shop every week. This store is not close to my home, but they had essential hurricane supplies that I needed. The grocery is located on the corner of Nimmo Parkway and Princess Anne in the Courthouse Marketplace Shopping strip. There are a few businesses I frequent such as Great Clips and Taylor's Hardware. The parking area is large and the lot clear of debris. The premier landscape is well maintained. The store is a full service with pharmacy, Starbucks and includes Express Lane online shopping service. Since I arrived just after the store opened there were few customers and the departments were just opening. The water I had been in search of was in front by produce. A manager was there and we chatted about pending Hurricane Florence. He was a super guy. I did browse the large wine section that was above average. However, they did not have a higher end $70 and above section and also appeared to be no wine concierge. I did see bottles over $50-70 on the shelf. The price point looked above average, but there were a lot on sale. Checkout was efficient and clerk nice. I save over a $1 by being a VIC rewards member. The Harris Teeter program and Kroger loyalty program is separate. You can also sign up for eVIC rewards. I also grabbed a coffee at Starbucks before heading out and found the coffee and muffin yum! The clerk at checkout meh, but the other staff on the floor super. Solid grocery that I would be happy to return and do a full service shop at if not so far from where I reside. read more

Typical Teeter with their really excellent subs and salad bar. I find Teeter to be a little bit more expensive than others, but what you get for that price is a more pleasant shopping experience and much better quality. Especially in produce and meats. I went to Harris Teeter today on Nimmo Parkway VA Beach location. I went to the pizza section to ask a question. The man there pulled out his ear buds to hear me. Then after answering my question he put his earbuds back in and continued to make the pizza for other customers without changing his gloves. This is nasty. NO CUSTOMER wants ear wax, skin particles, sweat, hair and other germs on their pizza. Several months ago there was another worker checking his phone on the counter where the pizza dough is spread out. It's like Harris Teeter employees don't care about customers getting sick and apparently the manager doesn't give a damn either because it was brought to his attention months ago. Employees should use the phone and other electronics during their break not while on company time preparing food. read more

Our local HT and what is there not to like except higher than some prices. The store is new, modern and complete. It is a superb supermarket. They make pizza, have a superb selection of beer and wine and have hard to find items. Everything that you love about HT is here. I would recommend getting their VIC card which translates into savings including BOGO items. Monday is pizza special (I am a pizza snob) so the price is 7.99. Pretty cheap but it is supermarket pizza so it is not primo pizza quality. The wait on Monday is an hour so order by phone and pickup. All in all easy parking, huge store, ok prices (not food lion cheap, but not Whole Foods pricy), and huge selection. The best supermarket in SE Va Beach. read more

When it comes down to budgeting, Harris Teeter is not what comes to mind. Usually come here to get last minute stuff, such as milk, eggs, bread, peanut butter, and produce of that sort. I only come here a lot because is the closest store in the Courthouse area. Everything here is so expensive. Everyone once in a while they'll have deals on stuff I need. They do have a little section for the almost expired produce. They have free samples on fruits, cookies, cakes, crackers, and dip. Their libation section is great actually. They carry a lot of local and imported beer. Wine as well. I do enjoy coming here to get Starbucks and their self check out to beat the long lines. read more

Thomas in the Deli makes the best pizzas. I highly recommend requesting him. At first I was a little intimidated by him due to his big, muscular physique, but after talking to him, I quickly learned how nice of a guy he is. He made my pizza as quickly as he could which has to be hard since they must get a lot of orders every day. When it was ready, he called my name and gave it to me with a big smile on his face. When I took it home me and my family were really impressed with his work. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. read more

She on the spot decorated a special cake for me to surprise my son when he came home from his 1st day of Kindergarten. I highly recommend this location's bakery for planned preorders and last minute special touches. Harris Teeter is by far the best grocery store you can buy from around here. Bakery, deli and specialties surpass other places! This location is filled with helpful staff, a clean as can be environment and law abiding people (probably due to its proximity from the courthouse.) I think I shop here every morning before work simply for the convenience when I forget something. They always have what I'm looking for, the store is very clean, and the prices are decent. I must say Harris Teeter has really good pizza and on Mondays it's 1/2 offnot to mention the staff members are so friendly and helpful.

Definitely my favorite grocery store for either a quick stop and shop or for a full cart weekly trip. The staff is always more than happy to help and are always trying to improve your visit. The app especially makes it quick and easy to preorder either deli meats, subs, or pizzas and their weekly e-vic emails (which I highly recommend you sign up for) keep you up to date on the current deals and if you have any specialized specials such as $10 off $100 or a free item during the weekend. The pharmacy is always there to answer questions and my all time favorite is my Starbucks which has a very efficient staff that gets you in and out quickly just as any worker there does because they realize how busy our lives can be. The checkout waits are never too long and even through some unruly customers all the cashiers seem to hold up a smiling and helpful demeanor and look forward to helping each and every customer in the best way that they can. read more

Just moved to the area. Most of the staff I interacted with was very nice, however, this morning I encountered a VERY rude overnight cashier, "Letty." Avoid her. She tried telling me I had to pay for an item I didn't even have and talked down to me as if I was a child wasting her time.
