Alright now, a lot of this review is probably going to be from Dave's perspective. Dave is my father. The best. But let's talk about Harris teeter. Normally, my go to grocery store is Trader Joe's. Except when I go to Trader Joe's, I purchase way too many snacks, and then I'm confused where the hearty healthy main food ingredients are. But, harris teeter, is a great place to purchase your main grocery items like CHEESE (emphasis on cheese), meat, and veggies. I don't really like fruit (shame) . Anyways, every Thursday, my dad and I have a routine. Senior's day is Thursday, so he's gotta take advantage of their discounts. We stroll into Harris teeter, my dad immediately goes to get the job done: actual grocery shopping. I spend my first 10-15 minutes, aimlessly looking at the cheese options at the deli, and I always come back with something good. Most of the time, they also have samples near the deli. Be warned, I always love whatever they give me, and I end up buying it. My favorite though: Burrata cheese, with a hint of truffle (or fresh mozzarella if you can't find this) is the best item from Harris teeter. Literally grab yourself a piece of sourdough, toast it, throw burrata cheese on it with olive oil and balsamic, cut up a tomato for the top. There you go, the most addicting sandwich on planet earth. Also, if for some reason I miss grocery day with Dave. He always comes back to tell me the best experience. He has a favorite cashier, who he will wait in line for, and she is very kind. Not to mention, Travis, is such a hard worker at Harris Teeter, my dad loves the guy. If you see Travis here, he is extremely nice, and you can tell the employees are doing their best. I have always had great experiences grocery shopping with dad here, and you bet we will be back, next Thursday. read more

Why the world they don't have hand carts anymore I come in there for four things and then I have to carry a big ass buggy around with me and when I go to self check out because of course there's very few humans checking you out you get all clogged up on that one self checkout lane with people that these other huge buggies so I think it's very ridiculous that they got rid of their hand cart and they don't seem to be like in line with other hair cheaters they can be very disappointing at times. read more

Rude workers. Deli workers always have an attitude, barely ask you what you want, and will make you feel as if you're bothering them. Not only did my customer service suck, but they pp charged my sub that's supposed to be 6.49 on Fridays to 10.49 because I asked for more meat, while associate was being very stingy with it. The Deli at this location is amazing because of Dana! Shes amazing and so compassionate. I have been going here for years because of her, thats the good! Now the bad is a few of the other employees that work here and their inability to assist customers. They are always stoned faced and lack interest in engaging with people and are extremely rude. This is the main reason why I go to the Wakefield location because that store is amazing and its because of the store manager Syreeta. This store can take notes from her store. read more

It's been quite awhile since I've shopped here, but the last time I did, they messed up my order. I ended up contacting customer service who then contacted the store manager. He called me, apologized, and mailed out 2 gift cards. He never told me how much would be on them. I was just grateful for the gesture. When I got them in the mail, they both had a $0 balance. I felt like I was being punked. Who sends out gift cards with nothing on them?? I contacted customer service again & they couldn't or wouldn't do anything. I called the store & could never get back in contact with that manager. It was a completely weird experience. I used their online ordering & pick up service often up until then. All their fruit is always rotten and disgusting. DO NOT GET THEIR BLUEBERRIES! This is the 3rd time I've gotten blueberries from harris teeter where the entire box of blueberries is completely rotten and nasty. They look fine until you eat some of them then you realize their all mushy and expired. Arrived at Harris Teeter this morning minutes after they opened, and this morning (05/21/23), I went there specifically to pickup a few of their donuts and what I found was a few donuts that looked old and a few empty trays. I was so surprised because that Harris Teeter donut area first thing in the morning was full of fresh looking donuts at one time. I asked a lady behind the counter if the donuts were fresh and she replied that she did not know. Not wanting to deal with that attitude I left the area very dissatisfied and not happy. The meat department is my favorite. Ms Alicia and another young gentleman were so welcoming and pleasant. Clearly this large age difference but you would never know it. Harris Teeter is not the cheapest grocery store in the Triangle, but if an item you are interested in is on sale it cannot be beat. A lot of Buy 1 get one and sometimes 2 and occasionally 3 free. Helps the pocket at times. Also the fresh food station at this Teeter is extensive with many selections. Friday all subs are $4.99 and that is a steal of a deal. Cons about this place is the parking lot is busy and a pain but still better then the checkouts. read more

For any newbies to the Triangle or the South in general, Harris Teeter is the Nordstrom of grocery stores here. Anything you find at a Harris Teeter will be top quality and they'll even take your goods out to the car for you. Your monthly grocery bill, however, will be considerably higher if you grocery-shop exclusively at HT. So keep that in mind... I will pop in here for those rare, infrequent items which I cannot find at Trader Joe's, my grocer of choice, or the NC State farmers market. I do not shop HT on a regular basis at all. There is nothing wrong with HT from a quality or product availability perspective, but for my weekly needs I can shop elsewhere for half the cost. The price differential alone is enough to make me shop elsewhere. read more

I have a love hate relationship with HT. I love that they have wifi, they give my daughter little food samples, and the location is near my house. What I don't love is how long it takes at the deli and the registers. No matter what time of day you go, don't plan to be in a hurry because I assure you no one else will have that same sense of urgency. It takes forrrevvverrr. Sometimes I don't feel like cooking, so I've tried several of their pre made meals and the quality just isn't there. We've gotten the salad and slice of pizza lunch special a few times. That will run you about $4 and They have a decent salad bar. In the end I usually drive a little further to the other grocery stores on Falls of Neuse. read more

Today was my first time visit to Harris Teeter in Raleigh . They have almost everything and all at a decent price.

Harris Teeter is sort of a stopping place for me when I need one-two items as it is on my way to work and they are open in the wee hours of the morn'. The locale in Wakefield is on top of it's game: always clean, staff are always friendly and helpful, and I can get in and out very quickly. HT prices are a bit steep so I don't make it the place I do all of my grocery shopping, but it gets the job done when I need to grab something and go. read more

The first HT I was ever in, and still my favorite. Ive been in several since being introduce to the name just over three years ago, however what sets this location apart is its salad bar. They always have four different types of lettuce available, which I like, as well as a large selection of other goodies to put on your salad. The staff and cashiers are always friendly and helpful. When I needed boxes to use while my fiance moved I asked if they had any available in back. The manager immediately had two pallets of empty boxes there for me to pick from, and even offered to set more aside in case I need extra. Due to its proximity, I visit this HT about three time over the course of a weekend when I am here in Raleigh, and I have no problem with that. read more

The best HT in the triangle! Most of the employees are awesome and they are always well stocked. This HT is always busy busy but the lines move fast! Mangers are typically on the floor to ensure things are moving smoothly. Jackie is particularly awesome. My only complaint is the deli. It can be overwhelming & often short staffed. I usually triple check my order because I have gotten the wrong one a few times. The wait can be long and there is no order to how they call people. Getting deli meat and cheese can quickly turn into the Hunger Games.The service is very inconsistent at best.When the "right" employees are staffed things are perfect. Quiche, sausage & gravy, biscuits/sandwiches, bacon, 3 types of scrambled eggs (western was superb), cinnamon danish, apple fritters, grits with or without cheese.... and more! The deli here is very short staffed. Expect to wait a long time to even be acknowledged - then be prepared foe them to be OUT of your favorite boats head meat. Frustrating. On Sunday evening of 07APR19, I went into Harris Teeter to order a flower arrangement. I put in the order with one of the assistance there. I also brought in my own special vase that I want the arrangement to go in. I told him I was coming to pick it up on Wednesday morning at 5:00am 10APR19 so I can have it to surprise my wife because it was her birthday. I also gave him my phone number just in case if anything come up that they couldn't fulfill my order. I always buy flowers from here. On the morning of 10APR19, I got up early at 4:30am, hoping to pick up the flowers and bring to my wife's work place to surprise her when she gets to work. When I got there I asked one of the worker there to get my flower arrangement, so I can be on my way. But no one can find it. I look around the refrigerator where they keep all the flower arrangements at. But I couldn't find the flowers I ordered. I found my the vase I brought in with a different flower arrangement in it. I was very upset. I told the night shift manager the I was going to just purchase a flower arrangement they already have in the refrigerator to give it to my wife that morning and come back later to determine what went wrong. I didn't the one I bought, but I have no choice. I call Harris Teeter later that day as spoke to a manager(Andy). I explained to him the situation and how upset I was. This is the closest location to where we moved to after coming from Atlanta. Yes, they are pricey but I have yet to have an issue with quality, so it is worth the extra price. Also, nice selection of organic products and prices are comparable with Whole Foods. But what has me totally addicted to HT? Express Lane shopping! Shop the night before online and then set a time to pick up the next day. They even have a parking spot just for express lane customers. This is a lifesaver for parents with children that suddenly turn into wild banshees the moment you enter a store! read more

I've had the opportunity to shop at various Harris Teeter locations throughout the Triangle and this location is by far my favorite! Staff is (relatively) friendly, very clean and generously stocked which makes my shopping easy--I always find everything I need! So-so selection of organic produce and mediocre selection of all-natural, hormone or antibiotic-free meat and poultry. My 2 year old son loves Harris Teeter. They have kid-sized shopping carts and shopping cars shaped like race cars which he loves! Note: although the race car shopping carts are VERY difficult to maneuver, they definitely make grocery shopping with toddlers much more pleasant. The free samples and free kids-cookies located throughout the store also help! My biggest issue with this location is the deli counter. Process is inconsistent and it never seems adequately staffed. In fact, yesterday I had the opportunity to bond with a fellow shopper about our shared deli counter frustrations. She stated that when possible, she makes it a point to visit other competitors. She said going a little bit out of her way is worth it not dealing with deli counter frustrations. Maybe she's right? read more

This Harris Teeter gets my attention because it has some of the best breakfast in Raleigh. Seven days a week they have a breakfast bar that is fantastic. They have some of the best bacon I've ever had, eggs, western eggs, hash, sausage links and patties, hash browns (the julienne kind), several kinds of muffins, toast made from Kings Hawaiian Bread, biscuits, French toast, pancakes (sometimes with seasonal fruit inside), grits, gravy, everything a southern breakfast should have. They charge by weight so be aware of that. I like to get a to go tray and fill it with bacon and take it home and make BLTs. They do have a small dining area as well if you like to eat in. read more

This review is specific to this Harris Teeter's pharmacy. Over the past three months, I have utilized their services and each time was helped by the same pharmacist, Jeff. When I say helped, I mean that in the literal sense. It wasn't that he was courteous or greeted me (although he always does with me and with others), but that he takes the time: the time to listen, the time to help you problem solve, and the time to research for you. Here are some examples. On one occasion, I came with a new prescription, which they did not stock. Jeff took the time to seek a Harris Teeter pharmacy that did and ensure that it would be ready for me to pick up. Another time, I came to pick-up a prescription which my doctor had phoned in...to another pharmacy. Without hesitation, Jeff immediately transferred it and I was checked out in less than 10 minutes. Today I was specifically seeking Titralac, an antacid. He said that he didn't believe that they carried it, but offered to look it up as well as potentially order it for me. Every other store (Wal-Mart, Kroger, Wal-greens, Rite-Aid....) simply said, it should be in the antacid section if we have it. Thanks, I could have figured that one out myself. Going to this pharmacy reminds me of what pharmacies used to be: a place where the pharmacist put your health first, the pharmacist cared and looked out for you, the pharmacist was not dictated by governmental and insurance mandates. read more

We love this Harris Teeter! They are always super patient with my two young children which really helps my shopping experience. I've often times gotten fresh sushi made for me while I wait. Each department has been super helpful at one time or another, but I really have to give a shoutout to the checkout lanes. We frequently use the UScan checkouts and the staff running those are always helpful, friendly, and even distract my kids a little while I'm trying to get everything paid for. It's not easy shopping with two little boys, but compared to other Harris Teeter branches nearby this one is our favorite. read more

Called ahead of time to confirm whether or not they had parsley root (common staple in Hungarian soups). One HT in N. Raleigh (think it was on Creedmoor Rd) had it some time ago so I know the chain does stock them occasionally. Anyway, employee in produce says they have it, so we trek all the way from Franklinton just to get it. Come to find out the employee thought I said just 'parsley'. I was VERY clear in saying that I wanted Parsley Root, not Parsley. Wasted time driving down in the rain to find out they stock something we don't want that you can find in any grocery store in the country. No apologies for wasting our time either. HT is supposed to be known for customer service and that's why you pay more for groceries here than in FL or Kroger. read more

I went in to order my daughter's birthday cake and asked for a Peppa Pig cake. The baker didn't seem sure of Peppa Pig and said she needed to google it. I was a little nervous to pick the cake up because I was not sure what the cake was going to look like. The cake was beautiful and far exceeded my expectations.
