Absolutely unacceptable experience at this Walgreens. I've placed online orders at this location weekly, but after today, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I visited to have a passport photo taken. An employee handled the entire process -- took the photos, uploaded them to the self-service kiosk, and all I did was enter my phone number and email. When checking out, I asked to apply the $2 discount advertised on Walgreens' website, which clearly states: "Provide code JOURNEY to in-store associate at checkout." Instead of simply honoring the code, the manager on duty, Carlee, was called over. She proceeded to walk me back to the kiosk for an unsolicited tutorial on how to "properly" use it -- despite the fact that her own employee had done it all. I calmly explained this, but she continued to push back in a condescending and dismissive tone. Eventually, she did apply the discount -- but then audibly muttered that my partner and I were "assholes" to the employee who helped us. Yes, really. That's the kind of behavior Walgreens allows in a manager. If you expect even a shred of professionalism or customer service, good luck getting it from Carlee. This was beyond disrespectful, and no one should have to deal with that kind of hostility for asking a manager to honor their own store's promotion. read more

I am unsure if Corporate understaffs this pharmacy or if incompetent individuals run it. Regardless of why, a prescription will never be ready on time, sometimes two days late, as is the case at the moment. Do not even think about calling them as you will be on hold for an hour+, and half the time will be disconnected at that hour mark (as is the case right now). This is a very large new Walgreens! It is clean and well stocked. What really stood out to me was the large selection of wine and beers. The only negative about the store is how huge it is and trying to find the one item you came in for. I was successful! It's got everything you would expect from a wall greens from gifts seasonal items cards to first aid medicine and pharmacy shampoo conditioner soap's insect repellent and so on and so on. Everyone working was in a mask and wore it properly attached to their face covering both the mouth and nose. All customers are expected to wear a mask. Social distancing is marked on the floor. No trying on clothes or flip flops. It's around the backside on Cameron Village and has its own dedicated parking lot, which is under video surveillance. read more

Quick stop in this Walgreens for a couple of things. Open 24 hours (though the pharmacy is not), they are fully stocked. This is a larger format than I've seen elsewhere. Almost the size of a small supermarket. Because of that, things are much more spread out and the aisles are wider. It is quite pleasant to shop! I hate to think I'm a pharmacy snob but I must confess: I wish I had a CVS or Walgreens near me. But as luck would have it, the two closest pharmacies to my home are both Rite-Aid's, sigh... There's nothing wrong with the place, they have all the necessary product, their techs are good with customer service but it just seems to be missing some zip! I miss the private label assortment available at the other chains and the non-pharmacy product line seems weak. But thankfully they do have some cute pharmacy techs there which makes the whole experience a bit better. And they're also putting up a Chick Fil A right next to this location. But what the hell, Rite Aid in Cameron Village is literally a 2-minute drive for me so it's fine for what I really need it for, meds. Wow! This is the nicest drugstore I have ever been to. I went in on a Wednesday evening and the store was well staffed and filled with patrons. It appears the store has quite recently been remodeled, and it is SPOTLESS! The floors, the displays, etc. we're clean and inviting. Many drugstores are dimly lit, dingy, and make me want to leave as soon as I've entered - not this store! I needed help finding an item, and there were multiple staff who came to my rescue. This is a nicely renovated Walgreens, with pretty much everything you can find at any other Walgreens. However, every time I've been in the store to fill prescriptions, grab some quick snacks, or get photos developed, the people working the registers and pharmacy have been the absolute sweetest. We've had small chit-chat each time, and sometimes that really does make the difference. It can be busy some days, but the employees never cease to brighten your day just a little. Super convenient location for anyone in the Downtown Raleigh area, with practically everything you'd need from a drug store. YES - THEY DEVELOP FILM! In an obscure location with a weird road trying to get into parking lot coming from Peace Street area... parking can be minimal if very busy. However, that doesn't reflect on the interior of the store and the employees - they're great! read more

I love this store and the location. The front checkout people are so friendly and helpful. However, the pharmacy needs to improve their service skills or add some help, especially at the drive thru. I don't have the same good experience with the pharmacy that I do at other Walgreens pharmacies. My other 'go to' Walgreens are at a level 10 when it comes to service. This location is at a level 2. Still no progress made here...called to confirm prescription was received and filled..they confirmed this. Came by 3 days later to pick it up and received blank stare..informed that prescription was not ready.... then she comes back and informs me that my $15.00 prescription will be $161.00...then when questioned after another 10 minutes of "investigation" she realized she "ran it through wrong". Pros better sale item than rite aid use to have. Cons cashiers are allowed to text and hang out on their cell phones during guest check out. Which slows my time down even more. Twice I went in and the same cashier was so busy texting on her phone she could not even communicate to me my total, I FINIALLY just had to stick a $20.00 bill, on top of the register. Since this location became Walgreens it has gone downhill tremendously. They never answer the phone and there is always a line of five people or more waiting at the pharmacy and they serve each person with incredible slowness. It's impossible to find items you're shopping for because the labels don't make any sense, and everything is expensive. As soon as the Harris Teeter pharmacy reopens up the street I'll be transferring my medications there and never coming back to this Walgreens. read more

Ever since Rite Aid got acquired by Walgreens and this pharmacy switched over to Walgreens management it's been a nightmare service. Getting prescriptions refilled is almost impossible unless you wait an hour on hold on the phone. No more automated services for refills. It. Is. Terrible. And if you finally get through to talk to a person at the pharmacy the poor attitude I get on the phone and the incompetence of the person comes right through the phone and it's significantly frustrating. The lack of service options combined with incompetent staff makes things even slower. It's mind boggling how bad this pharmacy has become. Just wow-in a good way! In these times of COVID with pharmacies being pushed to their limit with so many patients to juggle and often not enough staff it is truly worth writing about when someone goes out of their way to help you. We were close to closing time when I called to check on a newly faxed over prescription from an urgent care provider, but what we needed wasn't in stock. Flora (pharmacist) took my call and spent her last few minutes before closing calling around to several different pharmacies to find the right antibiotics for my daughter. I was frazzled with a sick kid and juggling her siblings and she was the calm and reassuring voice of help. Without her fast and smart work we would not have been able to get medication for our daughter till probably lunch the next day. I cannot say enough about how wonderful she is and how much we appreciate her! read more

DO NOT use this pharmacy. I've been trying to get a prescription transferred here from CVS and when I went to get it they said they never got it. Figured it was just a mistake so I called CVS to check up and they told me multiple times that they sent it and to have Walgreens call them to sort it out. I told this to the people at Walgreens and several times they refused to call CVS because they don't answer their phones (not true, I've had to call them about 4 times to deal with this situation and they do answer). When I told the pharmacist all this she was really rude and basically brushed me off trying to get rid of me. I've spent the last 4 days calling and showing up to both pharmacies trying to get this dealt with and I finally gave up and had it sent to another Walgreens which was a piece of cake. I never even write reviews but I made a Yelp account to leave this one because I'm so beyond frustrated with them. I have given this Walgreens 5+ tries and every time it just gets worse. I have ordered three photo prints and ZERO have been ready on time or within 5 hours of the designated pick up. Once I was told that they simply forgot to check photo orders all day. I spent five minutes waiting at the pharmacy drive up after the person in front of me bailed after waiting too long. I ended up leaving as well. The employees are nice but it is very clear that the location is poorly ran as they always seem frantic and understaffed. This store is totally unacceptable. The phone system for both store and pharmacy is broken. I cannot even get to a manager because of the broken system. The pharmacy is severely understaffed. For anyone going through the drive through, the wait is up to 45 minutes. Even when I call ahead for a refill and arrive three hours later, frequently the prescription has not been filled. Their excuse is that they were giving flu shots. Unacceptable - they need to hire a temporary nurse to give the shots. The store has moved under and behind the building, which is even less convenient than it was upstairs - and with less parking. Where is an alternative in that area because I'm moving after 14 years with that pharmacy. read more

WORST Rite Aide (now Walgreens) Pharmacy EVER!!! Ugh!!! The employees are nice enough it's simply the fact that they are HORRIBLY under staffed. I actually feel bad for them. I have not experienced a time when line is the store didn't have 5+ people and many times the drive thru window is closed for no apparent reason. My Rx is always called in advance and my average wait time in line for a simple pick up for a ready order is approximately 37 minutes. There is no WiFi and on both my AT&T and T Mobil phones I cannot get cell coverage so I can't work via phone, email or browse my social media or the web so I stand there bored out of my mind for my 37 minute wait. In college, this was my go-to spot for nail polish and contact solution (Walmart was too far away and I didn't have a car). The outside is still a bit sketchy, but nowhere near as sketchy as the Western Blvd Kmart. I honestly wish they would update the outside to be a bit cleaner -- especially since the new Chick-fil-A opened across the street. They have decent deals on medical stuff (make sure you have their free membership card to score the dealios). I wasn't impressed with how expensive their Ace Bandages were (around $18.99 for a knee bandage). The parking lot is always busy, so be aware whether you're parking or walking. This is a hot-spot for Wolfpackers to pick up cases of beer for their tailgates. You better believe it was hoppin' last Saturday -- didn't know peeps start drinkin' that early! read more

Their phone is almost always broken so you can't call the pharmacy. It always busy and understaffed. They tell you different information each time you call. Their technology system is a mess. I've used this Walgreens for a few months bc it is the closest. First, they made multiple mistakes with my prescriptions. They take forever (& I know they're new, but it's a bit ridiculous.) I've now waited 3 different times for 20 minutes each to speak to someone at the pharmacy. I called right when they opened and still had to wait 10 minutes. I get they're busy and there are other people needing the same service, but they need to figure it out. I've never had this much trouble with any other Walgreens so I am thinking about switching. I hope this review helps someone. If you don't have all day to wait on the phone or for prescriptions, don't use this location. On the plus side, the inside is very very nice. I have been utilizing this Rite Aid for over one year. Have always had medications on time or before scheduled time. The entire pharmacy staff is excellent. Amy, Patel, and I apologize I do not know everyone else's names. Always helpful courteous and very patient with consumers. I personally have witnessed some rude customers and how they treat the staff is unacceptable. I would give a 10 star rating if possible. Also, the over all store staff is very helpful courteous and always willing to assist. Granted the store is older in appearance, but they have almost everything one could think of in a jiffy. When they relocate to the lower level, maybe their inventory will increase in the general store. for those who have posted an unpleasant experience, stop and think about how many patients and customers these employees and professionals serve on a daily basis.....I rate them ALL AS TOP NOTCH. read more

Pharmacy is not 24 hours....If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've used Walgreens as my pharmacy for 10+ years and this is by far the WORST Walgreens ever! If there ate 2 cars in line at the drive-thru, forget it, you'll be waiting for 25 minutes for TWO cars....Just to drop off your prescription. Going in doesn't help either! They are always short staffed. My last visit (today), I was asked to show my ID for dropping off a prescription, I told the woman I've only been asked that when it's time to pick it up, her response was, "Is that a problem?"...i said no but yes it is, because 1. It's already taking forever, and 2. It's not necessary, she then disappeared for another minute or so once I put my ID in the bin. It makes no sense and is very disappointing that there cannot be a decent Walgreens in downtown Raleigh. I may finally have to make the switch to a new pharmacy. Finally left without being helped, and there were 4 more people behind me still in line. There new location (actually just behind their old store) is heaps and bounds better than the old store. I was considering switching Rite Aids to one that was closer to my new apartment. However once I had to come pick up my prescriptions from the store I was seriously like "wait woah!". Nice,clean and new inside. I feel like the have more of a product selection too, or maybe the layout just makes it look that way. Also- the drive through window is DEFINITELY a nice touch. The parking lot is a bit small, so on days when I know I'm just quickly swinging by to get my prescriptions the drive thru works great. Glad to see you guys renovated! read more
