Produce

From the city we moved there were not any Harris Teeter but I've heard of the chain prior. This grocery is the closest to what we enjoyed at Publix, large produce selections, fresh cuts of meat, fresh made sushi, clean, etc. We never actually do a full grocery shop here because the prices are higher than competitors. MVP is the discount card they have, it's hit or miss if your just coming off street. If you browse for the deals beforehand you can probably get better value from this program. The wine and beer section is large prices reasonable. The international section is missing a West Indies/Caribbean portion; there were crackers but not ones we wanted the variety pack that pair w cheese. The parking lot is not small but seems cramped, the aisles are not long enough. The store is on the corner of this funky 5 way stop in Florence, I'm not sure if that contributes to parking lot layout. For us, we only stop here for few items can't find regular shopping location. For those that don't mind higher prices this store is for your grocery needs.

The prices I saw in the store weren't about inflation it's a form of robbery. I think they had a brand of eggs for close to $10 a dozen.

Every time I come here I get the worst meat and fish. Step it up or I'll drive to Columbia and get decent meat and fish.

Best produce and meat depts in Florence. Sometimes pricey but sales and double coupons help. If you want it, they probably have it.

Typical Harris Teeter store with friendly employees. Could definitely go for a more updated look, but it was a good shopping experience.

To be fair, I really didn't "grocery shop" here, but Harris Teeter is my go to grocery store wherever they are.

Called customer service and asked if they could grab it for us and hold it until Sunday when we are driving back through town as we are on a road trip and was told that they "cant guarantee that it would still be there and someone would have to first find it and turn in it to customer service". The young lady was SO LAZY she refused to walk 20 steps to get it for us. Then in the middle of me speaking--hung up on me. Customer service needs to learn some customer service!!

She instructed me to go to customer service. I got talked to even worse there. Shareeka claimed to be the store manager and was angry even before not offering any assistance or help. And herlittlehench man or woman was also rude and seemed like giving me back my money was too much work( because the cash machine stopped working) . Because of their willingness to be helpful I had to stand in line again and have every item re rung up. There was no store manager available nor even security to help. Shareeka did not want to do anything but argue with me. I showed up in a good mood wanting to buy somethings. But when I left I couldn't believe somebody on a payroll could act and talk like that to a customer. I hope they can show my experience with a video. She yelled at m and called me names. I thought about just leaving empty handed. I'm praying to God I never have to a shop their again. I go there about twice a week for 7 years. And this is the only time I've had such a degrading experience.

It wasn't long enough of a visit since the girls and their mom stayed in the car! GRRR.. From a grandma's perspective, the first thing I noticed was how clean and well-kept everything was. The restrooms? Absolutely spotless--honestly better than some hotels I've stayed in. There were green and red lights on the outside of each stall to let you know which stalls were available and which were occupied. The lines moved very quickly. That alone makes it worth the stop when you're traveling with kids. Now, for my grandson, this place was like walking into a wonderland. His eyes lit up the second we walked in. Between the rows of snacks, the huge drink stations, and all the fun Buc-ee's merchandise, he didn't know where to look first. He was especially fascinated with the Toy section there were so many to chose from. It was a Saturday so this place was very busy. I heard Al Roker from the Today show praise the brisket sandwiches. I also wanted one but the wait was too long. We ended up grabbing some treats--beaver nuggets (of course!), 3 slushies, beef jerkey, candy bars, chocolate covered pretzels, and a couple of souvenirs magnets, t-shirts, Buc-ees water bottle and a Buc-ees tumbler he insisted we "had to have." I appreciated that there were plenty of options, whether you want something indulgent or a quick, decent meal on the go. What really stood out to me was how easy everything felt, even with a little curious little boy in tow. Plenty of space, clear layout, and friendly staff who didn't seem bothered by all of the people shopping. All in all, Buc-ee's in Florence isn't just a gas stop--it's the ultimate shopping experience. You must go atleast once in your lifetime! If you're traveling with grandkids, plan a little extra time. Trust me, they won't want to rush through it--and honestly, neither will you. 5/5 Ambience 5/5 Service / Employee engagement 5/5 The variety of merchandise 5/5 The food Choices 5/5 Parking 5/5 prices I highly recommend!

However, they are carrying Dietz & Watson prepackaged cold cuts. They have improved with some new quality brands in the deli circular showcase. An assortment of prepackaged cheeses, olives in brine/containers, etc. They carry local farmers produce, but for some reason the produce department is small in quantity and to give it a grander appearance they display everything in small to medium baskets. They have a large display of prepackage produce done in the store and try to entice the consumer to purchase by offering any 3 packages for a set price. Example: 4 tomatoes in a wrapped tray, 3 assorted squash/zucchini in a wrapped tray or 3 russet potatoes in a wrapped tray. Be careful, because the produce is either over ripe or slightly past life expectancy and the bargain is no longer worthwhile. Leads me to believe they do not sell much produce compared to the other grocery stores in town. Now they do carry some grocery brands that I remember as a child, that you cannot find in the competing grocery stores. With the new renovation, the Butcher Shop has been expanded, brighter and superior display case. They have some of the best beef in town. Mouthwatering and tender when cooker properly. The butch is there to assist you and cut to order. Most of the other grocery stores no longer have butchers, just prepackaged meat and some dude who calls himself a butcher rolls the merchandise out and places it in the freezer or showcase. Watch for the sale prices on the beef because they are incredibly crazy deals. Don't miss them and make it a point to stock up. Enjoy your shopping trip.
