I will never make fun of Walmart again…read more It was a Sunday, and we were traveling north on I-95 in South Carolina trying to beat Hurricane Sandy home. We had started the drive from central Florida at 5:00 AM. Suddenly, as I was driving, a piece of something came out of nowhere and went under the tires. A little while later the tire pressure light came in. We stopped at a gas station and I could hear the air coming out of the tire. After establishing that the next place we could get a tire change was at a Walmart off the next freeway exit, we started back north on a wish and a prayer. When we got to the Walmart, the staff took a no nonsense matter of fact approach to getting our work done. From the way they acted, I thought it would be hours before we were back on the road. However, they were able to sell us a comparable tire to the ones we had on the car at a reasonable price. Shockingly, they didn't try to sell us more than one, even though I asked if we should just get 2. In all, we were back on the road in less than an hour. And yes, we beat the storm.

When I tried to buy some heated deli items instead, I found out there were none available, even though it was still early in the afternoon. She did provide me with the deli items. When I got home, I realized they gave me a pound of turkey instead of chicken, and it cost over $11. I'm not a fan of turkey, so I was very disappointed. I know that talking to the management won't help, as this store is the only one in town and seems to disregard customer concerns. I've also noticed expired items on sale and brought them to Customer Service, but they don't seem to take it seriously. I think the corporate office needs to investigate the situation at the Manning Walmart more closely.

Being a Walmart+ member for a few years now I was happy they finally got Scan & Go implemented here. Been using it at Sam's Club ever since they implemented it and works much smoother than Walmart's. At Walmart it's great getting through the store quicker, especially with the wonderful wider aisles. BUT, when done, your checkout is not complete yet. You now have to got to a checkout lane specified for S&G customers only (there are only 2 out of like 18 or 20) and scan the bar code on the screen. Here, you may or may not be "selected" for a visual check by an employee standing there watching you. After this inspection you proceed to leave but again stopped for security at the door to inspect your full receipt on you phone to compare to items in your cart. So for me this is totally defeating my purpose of quick in/out, wasting more of my time. Sam's Club, scan, checkout on phone, proceed to leave, they scan your bar code on your phone and 2-3 items maybe and you're out the door! Sorry, but at Walmart it make's you feel like you are trying to steal something. And I for one do not appreciate this!!! So, bye-bye Walmart!

There were a few loud vehicles until the store closed but after that, nothing else until morning. Inside the store, decently stocked. The associates were stocking shelves at 8pm so some aisles had pallets being put away. The store is otherwise decently tidy and the restrooms were clean. Got 4 rib eyes for NYE, we ordered Saturday and picked up on Monday, no wait or confusion or getting it wrong. Everything was spot on. The steaks we delicious, fatty where it should be, tender and it can get, tasty and more beef flavorful than a std grocery store beef. This…read moregrocery is the closest to what we enjoyed at Publix, large produce selections, fresh cuts of meat, fresh made sushi, clean, etc. We never actually do a full grocery shop here because the prices are higher than competitors. MVP is the discount card they have, it's hit or miss if your just coming off street. If you browse for the deals beforehand you can probably get better value from this program. The wine and beer section is large prices reasonable. The international section is missing a West Indies/Caribbean portion; there were crackers but not ones we wanted the variety pack that pair w cheese. The parking lot is not small but seems cramped, the aisles are not long enough. The store is on the corner of this funky 5 way stop in Florence, I'm not sure if that contributes to parking lot layout. For us, we only stop here for few items can't find regular shopping location. For those that don't mind higher prices this store is for your grocery needs.
