I shop at this HT as it's closest to my home and convenient, but now I'm thinking otherwise. I noticed that other reviewers are posting about a rude deli lady and I know exactly who they're referring to. There is one particular deli lady that has the WORSE attitude. Be it at the deli counter or at the sandwich counter, she's just plain RUDE. She should not be employed in a position that has direct customer contact. My husband and I, at different times (alone or together) have encountered nothing but rudeness from her. It has gotten to the point where we won't even go the deli or sandwich counter if she's there, not unless we can get the other lady. Recently, I was at the deli counter and another deli lady was helping me, I had asked for a cheese and a deli meat, meanwhile the rude deli lady was chit chatting with a male customer that arrived after me, it appeared that she has a great relationship with this male customer. Anyway, when the deli lady that was helping me went to change from the cheese to the deli meat, the rude lady cut in and helped her male customer, making me wait, she knew what she doing too as afterwards, she made sure to look back as she walked away to give me a smirk, along the lines of, gotcha. HT needs to give her the boot! read more

There are no cashiers in the checkout lanes most of the time I go, they only have self checkout lanes. Also, they have stopped stocking Organic fat- free milk gallons. I never find it at this location Harris Teeter. read more

Bakery employee was very polite and made my dad a beautiful birthday cake that I had placed almost a month in advance. However the cake tasted stale and the icing tasted like plastic. We were all extremely disappointed being that Harris Teeter cakes are fresh and delicious! read more

This Harris Tetter in the Creek View Plaza is the closest to my house, but after several experiences with bad and lazy customer service, I'll be driving to other locations from now on. One time when the store had just changed it's closing time to 10:00 pm, I came to shop 20 mins before it was closing. I parked and walked to the closet door to find that it was already locked. There was not a sign explaining to use the other door so I stood there trying to make the electric door open for several minutes. Finally, I had to walk to my car, re-park closer to the other door and walk in. I was annoyed by the extra walking bc I have arthritis and it was the end of the day so my knees were killing me. Why shut a door when the store is open for TWENTY more minutes? Oh... I know why... bc you are hoping customers will think you are closed and go away! Nice! Tonight I went back to shop at 9:15 pm and even though the store hours were listed as closing at 11:00, the cashier made sure to tell me that they were closing early at 10:00 when I walked in. That was plenty of time for me, so I started shopping. I went to check out at 9:42 pm to realize that they had closed ALL the registers already except self check out! I admit, I gave the young cashier who looked at me like "I'm not checking you out, Lady" a dirty look. So with $150 worth of food, I had to check myself out. There were four teenager workers standing around the self checkout post that already had their backpacks on to leave just talking and wasting time until they could leave. After I rung up ALL my groceries and put them in the own cart, I headed to my car. As I was pulling out I looked back at the store and the rude cashier was locking the same door again. It was 9:52. If your hours say you are open until a certain time, your store should be ready for business until that time. Employers should not be locking doors and closing registers early, making it inconvenient for people who are trying to give you their business, just so the young staff and irresponsible management can make their 10:15 movie! This review is for the deli. One lady in particular. There is a lady in the deli who is extremely grumpy and unpleasant ALL the time. When I see it's her there, I do not even bother getting deli meat. Not only is her attitude terrible, I am very bothered that she only wears ONE Glove when slicing deli meat. It's really unsanitary and not to mention plain old lazy to not put on two fresh gloves. Her attitude keeps me away but the improper glove wearing is what really prevents me from getting deli meat. Rusty cans of vegetables, bad cisterns service, I grabbed old expired cookies couldn't return them or even exchange it, talked with customer service just to get attitude from them. Then to top it off ..... I heard arguing between employees while I'm trying to shop they said a few bad words but mostly loud loud talking and disrespectful people. Wouldn't recommend just go to Walmart at that point would give half a star if I could or none at all! Try different places. read more

This deli blows. Every time I go the bread gets soggy, almost immediately. Gave it another shot today with their steak and cheese but somehow that came out cold. Harris Teeter is my go to grocery but I won't spend one more moment or dollar at this location. I went to the customer service counter to ask about something. One girl was sitting and eating and the "supervisor " as her badge said was leaning in the doorway with her arms crossed. Blank stares from both. I said hello, more blank stares. I said "excuse me, I have a question?" The customer service supervisors response- "so ask it." My response? I left my full cart and walked out. Perhaps some training? read more

I am not a huge fan of the Harris Teeter chain. This location is at the Goose Creek Shopping Center. I hate the cookies they have for kids. My kids act like they are crack and want one at the beginning of the shopping trip which usually ends up with a scene as my kid(s) melts down when I say no and we end up leaving the store without me doing my shopping. Their prices tend to be higher than other grocery stores unless you shop on their double coupon day...which I don't do. Their selection is okay...not the best but not the worst either. Their produce is okay once again not the best and not the worst. I generally try to avoid the Teeter unless I just need one or two things. read more

I encountered a a horrible experience while visiting this particular location for the first time. I usually go to the one close to my work in Herndon. However, I recently moved near here and was out exploring Friday evening. I decided to stop at the deli for subs. First I had to wait about 5 minutes or longer for the rep to come over and acknowledge my presence. When she finally come over she seemed to have an attitude for what I do not care to know. I stated I wanted two subs one on 5 cheese bread and the other wheat. She yelled what do you want as if I was bothering her and grabbed two white breads. I explained that's not what I ask for yet she continued to slice in to the bread completely disregarding me. Then and what type of sub. I told to forget it and walked off. Decided dine elsewhere solely because her customer service sucked. My thinking is if you don't want to work no one is forcing you to do so. Unfortunately, she ruined my first impression of this store as I may avoid it completely in the future. read more

He asked how my day was going , while bagging my groceries perfectly, he asked if l special plans for the holiday weekend. I never had a bad experience with any of the cashiers there. I have never been a fan of Harris Teeter. I think if it as an expensive Safeway. I found the meat prices reasonable only if shopping the sales. However, this store at Goose Creek has changed my mind. I started coming more often as they have organic Tuscan Kale cheaper than Wegmans and Whole Foods. To top it off, it always looks so fresh. I juice and make smoothies daily and am always in search of fresh organic produce. This store fits the bill. I would also like it to be noted that the employees have always been unfailingly polite and helpful. read more

The first time I went to this location, I walked up to an cashier with no other customers to ask to apply for a VIC card. The cashier was rummaging through things, and said, "You know there is the self check-out right?" Rude. If a self check-out machine can help me with the VIC card I would. After I got that all sorted out with an employee that's a lot more service oriented, I ended up back with the same cashier with a lot of items to purchase. He dropped my bag of cherries, from the counter level to the ground, picked them up and continue scanning other items. Then he also dropped my nectarines. I was still in a relatively good mood at that point so I didn't comment on how he bruised several of my purchases. As I walked out, I said, "Thank you very much" in a very sincere manner. No sarcasm or anything. And he replied brusquely "Bye". So very grumpy. I don't like that cashier, by that point my good mood kind of poofed into oblivion. Not very professional. read more

Harris Teeter has great prices and I can find most of the items that I use. The staff is very helpful and items are places that make sense, so it's easy to find what you're looking for. They don't have everything you need, like corn husks for making tamales, so they really don't have anything for specialized dishes. read more

This Harris Teeter is awful. I don't know who is stocking the shelves but I've purchased so many things only to get home and discover that they've either expired or near expiry. We purchased some scallops and opened the bag and they reeked. Yogurt for my baby, expired. Rice, expired. Canned goods, expired! It's stuff that typically doesn't expire for YEARS so God only know how long it's been sitting there. Hush puppy mix, EXPIRED. I've returned so much stuff it's ridiculous. I typically like Harris Teeter. I frequented one in brambleton and it was fantastic. I'm assuming this isn't well managed. Please do better and purge your stock. Nothing worse than a grocery store with old food. read more

I am a big fan of Harris Teeter but I won't shop at this location again. I have purchased meet here several times and it is terrible. I bought ground beef today from the counter and when I got home found spots of grey and brown meet inside. You never get this at any other store. This is the second time, and last time, I will buy meat like this. It's clearly folded into the inside of the meat to hide it. read more

This Harris Teeter is brand new with everything you expect from a new store. It's super clean. Whenever I come here, I'm very surprised with how few people are shopping in the store. The frozen cases are motion activated and only light up when you pass by. Selection is good and there for a while they had $10 coupons! Look in the mail for more. read more

This place is amazing, from the managers to the cashiers and even the bag boys everyone is nice, the frozen section is always well stock and their is one boy in particular that always helps me that department, his name is Mahdi. I live close to this store & shop when I need milk or just a few items as I usually shop at Wegman's. Harris Teeter is NO comparison to Wegman's on every level; especially prices,quality & selection of produce, & # & quality of staff. For example, a gallon of 1% milk at Wegman's is $1.99 - $2.39. At HT, a gallon of their cheapest 1% milk is $3.29 - $3.69. I find the prices on everything else significantly more expensive than Wegman's across the board. Both stores give double coupons, but that still doesn't help HT compete. The new gas points should result in savings but when I checked the price for a gallon of unleaded regular, it was $.14 higher than competing stations. That means the max. $.10 off a gallon w/ gas points STILL makes them more expensive. Customer service at this store also lacks as do a couple of the cashiers who are incredibly slow. The only exception at this store is the pharmacy where the staff have been helpful & personable. read more

I typically love Harris Teeter. This particular location is in a very a convenient one for me, and I'm usually here 3-4x per month. However, I won't be coming here again anytime soon. I needed to order some flowers from the floral department. I approached the employee behind the floral counter and asked for help. To which she replied, "I don't do flowers. I'm just here blowing up balloons." I tried explaining to her that I needed help placing an order. She rolled her eyes and sighed. After finally calling for help she said to me, "Why doesn't anyone do anything around here?" She was so annoyed by me being there that I left. I called the store after I left and spoke with the manger. He acted shocked and said that this particular employee was the most trained in helping me place a floral order. He offered to have me return and have the arrangement made at no cost. While he did make an effort to remedy the situation, the last thing I wanted to do was return to the store. I really felt that he was not listening to me at all. I'm very disappointed. read more
