Walked in and was awkwardly greeted by locals (turning around away from their usual bar seats) staring at me deliberately as I entered like that of outlaws in a western film observing an outsider. (Maybe I'm just that hot? Haha! No way) Anyway, the uncomfortable awkwardness was instantly wiped away by our adorable server. She promptly greatest us kindly, in her northern plaid attire, fair complexion and strawberry blonde hair. She kept very good care of us throughout our visit, but my one complaint is- she never offered a drink menu to us. In a bar that's a bit strange. Ever been the sole sober table in a bar? Unfortunately I have many, many times. In bar standards the food was good, and for the price I would recommend.

We sat outside which was great since it was a great day. The waitress was quick and attentive. I would say eat here if you have to but not because you really want a good meal.

There are things to love about this place, but this food does not taste grilled or smoked. The…read morerestaurant does not smell like a grill or smoker. There is no evidence of actual BBQing going on. The pork we got did not taste smokey and did not have caramelization or char. The burnt ends were objectively not burnt ends. They were bits of steak in broth mixed with sweet BBQ sauce. The liquid smoke flavor was undeniable. There were 2 BBQ sauce flavors only. The cornbread was a 2"x2" square of something that tastes like it comes from a box and it counted as a side. Our server forgot about us and admitted it. The vibe is cute, the prices are reasonable, the menu's range and flavor combos are very cool, you can tell the owner really cares. But this is not BBQ and at times, it feels disingenuous about what's trying to be. For the people saying this is the best BBQ in Minnesota or the best there ever had, a wish you better fortune on your BBQ exploration, friend.

My…read more'maybe' recommendation is because I ordered a BLT and what I got was two thin slices of bacon, one leaf of lettuce and one slice of a very small tomato on Texas toast so basically I got thick toast with a little bit of BLT for 14 bucks. The fries were excellent, however. I will give it another try because the people there are super nice and like I said the atmosphere is pretty cool. I saw some others sit down with a burger of some sort and that was pretty substantial so maybe it's just the BLT is lacking. If my next experience is good, I'll definitely give you more than three stars. Three is only because it's One more than the bacon I got on my sandwich.
